This is a bad decision, but I am happy for Deni ... he is in situation where can become an All-Star and explode next season, something what happened with LauriM. It's just that Deni is a better all-around player, better D , and in Wizards he was stuck behind Jordan and Kuzm
well looks like win-win. Portland win - Avdija, young talented wing that they need to replace Grant. Washington win - 2x 1st round picks some 2nds and a solid vet (rotation player), creating some space for Sarr to develop. If they didnt traded Avdija, Sarr wouldnt get the minutes to develop or Avdija would be benched and decrease his value.
This was a great trade. Sorry to see Denny go but they got a first round this year and two more for trade and draft packages next year and beyond. The new GM is rebuilding through the draft. So far his picks are a league better than the previous GM and for once they have a plan and are following it.
People dont know hoops. I think it was a great trade for both sides. I think the Wiz sold high on Deni I perosnally think hes reaches his peak as a good role player. However, I wouldnt be shocked if he did grow to become better
More people overrating Deni lol, a decent role player who could only average 6,9,9,14 on a losing team. He wasn't drafted by this regime; they wanted more size after signing Jonas Val.
I live in the DC area and have been a Bullets/Wizards fan for 50 years. Horrible trade for the Wizards. You are correct. Avdija was the Wizards best player. He will be a star in the NBA and will destroy the the Wizards when he goes against them. Mark my words.....The Wizards will regret this trade.
Brog is good. PDX best player at times, which is why he was "injured" for half the season, along with every other player with talent on our roster. Out with a case of TANKinitus.
who won trade? Celtic behind scene... somehow celtic convince wiz to trade Dani. Dani is Celtic killer and he can stop both wing Brown or Tatum. Dani is greatest ability is wing defense.
Yeah 14 points....but on how many attempts?? Give him 35 to 40 minutes a night and the go ahead to rip and he could be among the league leaders in scoring.
Brogdon is the guy to mentor your drafted PG. Brog: really good for us. So good he was benched for the tank. He's not THAT injury prone. He was tank prone last year. He was 6 man of the year the prior year. He can put up 20ppg if he is a starter. But - WAS wants him to mentor their baby pg. Good choice. I think PDX won the trade, but I don't think it was as vast as you think FWIW. Many portland fans were upset at the trade too, which probably means it was close to equal. I like Avdija though, so I'd probably react the way you did

Donovan,.. & Pg's who can floor general & make 3's!!! ; I honestly hope yall trade or release him to a 'winner', unless your going to be Serious about bringing in More help!!! Brogden,.. Poole is in no way better than Avdija. Poole is as good as he will ever be right now....he's not gonna get better.. The sky is the limit for Avdija. He will certainly be even better next year and for the next 5 years.
@@brianskoi NBA star players can be good or bad whenever they wish to. Washington wanted to be top lottery picker so they wanted to tank. The only players they wanted to be looking good are the ones they want to raise their trade values. Deni wanted to be out, so he played hard. He normally do not play that well. You can tell who are good and who are bad by checking their next game after they get pissed or play against teams as revenge game. We will see in few years who wins but that is my thoughts. Who knows, maybe Deni will become all star before Poole.
@flykaesan6178 I think you're mistaken deni in the middle of the season said he wanted to stay he was shocked when they traded him there for I think deni is better yes jp stats are prob better but his fg% is ass
Deni is solid but he is not gonna make your team, Deni will never average more that 16 points per game. I also loved the picks the Wizards made this draft.
Who won the trade?
Portland
Blazers by far. At least for now.
blazers by far
wizards fleeced. Deni is a role player at best
call that mf Denny's Avdija because this was a grand slam for Portland
Damn Wizards what are you doing???!!!!
#RipCity, baby! The Blazers are thanking you!
The Blazers make Deni the Point Forward and make plays and free up Simons and Sharpe plus they have Donvan Clingan now. Great Trade Blazers
Simons probably getting moved this summer
The comically sad wizards

Brogdon can still be flipped for a protected 1st, so this trade was effectively 3 first and 2 seconds if they do, in fact, re-route him somewhere.
No one is giving a 1st for him

deni isnt close to being an all star dude
