I prepare exactly the same way as you do Chef.. My mother in law from West Godavari district taught this recipe. This is the best idly nutritional value wise too as there's good amount of urad dhal in it.. The probiotic content after fermentation too is very good for gut health
After watching your episodes,In UK we are using only Idhayam gingerly oil and Mantra groundnut oil and GRB ghee only sir, Tastes good and your recipe also good sir, You are like paramatma to us

Namaskara sir.Your dishes are so good n authentic.I like all recepies because I settled in Karnataka n love all mangalorian dishes. This idli batter normally n originally was prepared in attukal only in Tamil Nadu before grinder. Subsequently in Hotel n marriage halls idli rava was used. But in Karnataka for ldli no grinding of rice like Tamil Nadu. Idli rava is only used. But many of us is going back to original way of grinding rice seperately n udin doll seperately for mallikaipoo idli.🙏 Nice to hear this method also.

Infact we use black urad dhal with skin. Soak and remove the skin for better flavour and fluffiness.. Thank you chef for the finer tips.. India Gate and Lalitha brands of idly rava are fine and too good.. Infact idly steamed on a white cloth tastes better

No.. It won't as the urad dhal we use is more than the idly made of par boiled rice. I prepare this regularly
