could you imagine if Honda made a new Prelude that could match up a bit with cars like Camaros and Mustangs while being a bit lighter? Base model with L15 turbo and Type-SH with K20C1. Would be amazing.
Awesome. These never got their due. I had two 4th gens and loved both. Yhe second one, a 95 VTEC, was pretty damn fast. All it jad was a cam, headers, exhuast and a tune but the thing really moved. I always wanted to se a RWD Prelude.
I’m so glad you said you believe they should have came RWD. The prelude chassis to me was always a mind boggle. They built a car that looked like it was rwd, but it was a fwd chassis. And to me that was absolutely ridiculous. I feel like if the prelude was a RWD chassis to begin with, then it would be as prevalent in the drift community as the Nissan S chassis
and despite the price, people would have ACUTALLY bought them. like you said it would be like a 240sx but with Honda build quality people would have justified the price delta
Great work as always Luke! I'm so glad you shortened those, I'm not sure if it's better for the suspension geometry but I'm sure it will help the stiffness, plus your rear compartment has much more potential now (seat area, cargo area, subwoofer foundation, whatever you know...)
I've been dreaming of doing rwd conversions for years and I'm finally starting to see people taking on this task. I like cars like the Prelude and Celica, but fwd ruins it for me. I'm contemplating going all out and making an rwd swapped car, but I feel like I should probably just buy a rwd car instead since it'd be cheaper or around the same and be ready for drifting. I'm not sure what the move is, but I'm excited to start building and drifting. I should mention that this would be my first build, but I'm willing to take on the challenge so long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Great progress Luke! You wanting to be different is totally relatable. 😊 My twin engine prelude is my pride and joy. Did you consider rear LCA angle for anti-squat during acceleration for weight transfer? Can’t wait to see this project driving! Our preludes need to meet one day
This is fantastic bro! Genuine question, how did you get into this? Did you do some kind of schooling, on the job training or just learning while having fun on your free time? I know this is an older vid so hopefully you see this xD
Car is coming along nicely, I really love welding, am a sheetmetal worker by trade, but I'm not allowed to weld now because I have a pacemaker, so no electro magnetic fields for me, love your channel and tictok 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
When manufacturing cars i,m sure it is cheaper to build FWD, mate the body up with a complete engine/gearbox rather than installing each unit separately!!
You think there's momentum now, wait untill you're sliding this thing around having sponsors wanting to wrap your car for you and converting the newer gens of Civics to rwd on Hondas dime! 🤘
In most of the US, if you start with something that already has a VIN, you can do whatever you want and no one is the wiser! Look at all the vette-karts roaming around.
That gen prelude looks like it should have been RWD from the get go. Always liked the look of those
all gens look like they shouldve been rwd

Hey Luke be careful bro you're starting to look like you know what you're doing. Just joking bro great vid keep it up 💪😎
Haha thanks brother!!
Lol

@@johnconcentriuseverything comes at price
Finally someone doing this project!
just found the channel, cant believe i haven't seen this before
I am buying a 97 prelude later this month, and respect the hell out of all the work you’ve put in. Gonna keep mine fwd though lol.
It's beautiful
1000 % the Prelude should have been a rear wheel drive car at least from 4th in 5th gen
Amazing, a Prelude worth driving, that's a ton of work incredibly well done!
One car that definitely deserved to be rwd the body shape and wheel base was perfect for cornering
Right on luke that's an unreal achievement can't wait to see the next project 🤟
Great video! The editing is 👌🏻. Can't wait to see when it's fully done ❤️
Why does this not have more views. This is my dream
Finally !!!!🎉🎉 amazing thought and creation!!

Exactly! I always knew i was going to do it and now was the time for it.
Watching this transformation taught me alot
one of the coolest projects i've seen. Awesome progress!
I'm so glad S1 made a set up for this, cus I can't do all these mods lol props to you
Man that is insane I've been following you since your first video, it is insane to see you do what honda should have done to the prelude

Really would love to see you start posting again. I'll going to be rwd swapping my HHR SS!
BRO WTF 14,9K SUBS CONGRATSS!!!!
how much would it cost to do this?
What axle is that
15k soon 🤝
Yes sir!
Great build. Would have been nice with a Honda power train and rear wheel drive.
This would be even sicker with the K48 (K24-based V8) from Neutron Engines!
I want to do that so badly.
that's dope. I was going to make my Prelude rwd but didn't want to get put out of the racing class I'm aiming for. I am considering making my EM1 rwd.
Keep up the awesome work! It's so cool and will be a blast!
Great video. Nice fabrication 👍
Thanks Daniel!

Denis your prelude is awesome man. Super underrated
You have earned my sub good friend , editing and content feels like im watching an lz video -good job
I wonder if that cross bar ever got ripped or broken off since it was just weld to sheet metal from what it looked like...
Hell yeah this awesome man 🤘🏽 rock on
What a bloody madlad. To be fair im fine driving my prelude with fwd i would be too tempted to drift and end up in an accident 😅
Imagine this thing with the 4ws still set up 😂
prelude should've been rwd from the jump, making it a v8 is even better! can't wait for the finished build
U don’t need a v8 to make power, and such a big engine on such a small car, would make it even more front weighted
If honda would build more rear wheel drive vehicles as an option I would definitely buy one
What do you do for front end for steering and all that any way to follow on facebook
This is fantastic bro! Genuine question, how did you get into this? Did you do some kind of schooling, on the job training or just learning while having fun on your free time? I know this is an older vid so hopefully you see this xD
will there be frame support ….?
U doing exactly what I want
Underrated content
I would like to know which car the gearbox and other parts were taken from, that is, which car was the donor for the conversion.
Where are you out of I'm currently doing an all-wheel drive prelude 5th gen right now
Man I wanna do this to an Acura Legend.
how much did it cost couse im thinking of making one myself
Ay Luke it’s been a little while?! Where’ve you been? (Im curious about the prelude🤣)
Wowowoowowowowowo so much power
What rear end did you go with on this
You can definitely drift with 4WS
What rear end you’re using?
Car is coming along nicely, I really love welding, am a sheetmetal worker by trade, but I'm not allowed to weld now because I have a pacemaker, so no electro magnetic fields for me, love your channel and tictok 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Is that your house garage sheeesh nice
here before 50 million
Wouldn't say done but kool video
Jimmy Oakes will be proud...
If only he knew about this lol
I will do a rwd swap on a 4th gen lude one day
should've put a 350z independent rear end
Yooo looks so good dude!!! Seems like you need a personal filmer and maybe editor ;)))
I really do lol.
Editing is on point :) but I do know my cinematography cause of skiing and such
how much for make rwd in this car?
Lookin good!
Tbh, it should've came with a 3.0 Litre C30A V6 from the NSX!
What engine is that
When manufacturing cars i,m sure it is cheaper to build FWD, mate the body up with a complete engine/gearbox rather than installing each unit separately!!
After you patch the floor, are you gonna leave it patched or will you put the rear seat back in as well?
Rear seats in preludes were pretty useless, likely more so with rwd conversion.

I really want to build a rwd prelude myself but I don't have that much freedom (I live in germany) :(
In most of the US, if you start with something that already has a VIN, you can do whatever you want and no one is the wiser! Look at all the vette-karts roaming around.
I wanna see a rwd k swapped prelude.... Searched and found this smh
I want to j35 red a prelude
Great video bro to bad your geoguesser abilities aren’t as great as your video making skills
I dont know why but every jdm honda is fwd exept nsx and s2000
Front wheel pulls rear wheel pushes
🧐Makes me think awd 🤔🤓😱
Prelude should have been RWD from the factory
Sub man finnaly found you
This is a comment.
Enough talk let’s c completely finished product plzzzzzzz🎉
fix the cancer spot ffs itll get worst.
bro that intro was cringe as hell
This is awesome
