A Short Text on Keanu Reeves’ Life 💭 Keanu was born in Lebanon. His parents split when he was three and he grew up with three different stepfathers. As a kid he was diagnosed with dyslexia and dreamed of becoming a hockey player. He played goalie for a junior league team in Canada but quit after breaking his leg to focus on acting. He lost his best friend, River Phoenix, in 1993 due to an overdose. He got married in 1998, experienced a miscarriage with his daughter in 1999, and ultimately lost his wife as well due to a car accident in 2001. In 2002, Keanu put the Matrix sequels on hold to care for his sick sister. He sold his house to move nearer to his sister, while also helping by cooking meals, cleaning her house, and preparing medication. He also donated 70% of the money he made from The Matrix to leukemia research. In 2006, when he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - on the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery & bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him. To this day, Keanu is often seen wandering around New York City, riding the subway, and interacting with people. A certified legend.
The last John Wick combat scenes are the best I’ve ever seen. Every single move is calculated. You can tell he does most of his stunts and trains martial arts.
I love that about those movies. John Wick 1 was amazing and they have only gotten better with each one. I know it’ll have to end at some point but man it’s gonna be a sad day when they do
Hi Joe my name is Mphuthumi Xhala and from South africa. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards you and your show for helping me through tough times in 2022 December. Obviously there wasn't anything that you said that was relevant to my situation but just watching your podcast covering all these different topics enabled me to be at ease. Of course later I would cry myself to sleep but the point that I am making is that you really helped my get by my pain. The topics that you uncover with the help of your guests makes one to pause and really think about stuff. Damn. I was hoping he would have but maybe Joe doesn’t know chad was friends with Brandon. Could have then asked chad about Bruce Lee. Since I know Joe isn’t really that informed about him. I was hoping he would have asked him what it was like working with Stallone on the expendables but I guess he didn’t ask that either. Another wasted opportunity. I’m not going to sign up for Spotify if none of these subjects were brought up with chad. Stallone destroyed his body making the first expendables. Got shingles, broke his neck, broke his foot etc.
For an actor to be able to make the nunchucks look like a weapon that can be controlled and effective in a nonstop fight was impressive to me. Loved it!
Chad Stahelski is a legend himself, yet everybody whine about "not a Keanu, we need Keanu". Well, yes, Keanu would be great, but Chad is also great great guest and I'm glad to see him not less than Keanu.
