      Why did the stuntman become a director and create a franchise?

    Everyone loves the action in John Wick (me included), but honestly my favorite part is the lore and world building. The thought of an entire group of assassins that follow certain rules and ethics is so cool. The desert place, the hotel, the ballerina stuff. Love it

    John Wick was written by a guy named Derik Kolstad. And Chad acts like he "created a universe?" He filmed what the writer created. Brought it to life, but he didn't come up with those ideas. He isn't even credited as a writer on any of the movies. Couldn't mention the guy's name once? People understand that everything that happens and every word in a movie that's said comes from the writing, right?

    • @DrLove-ql1wh
      @DrLove-ql1wh Рік тому +1

      Did he not mention the writer at all in the whole podcast... Poor show. One thing I will say is that directors have to visualise what is written. It is literally his vision of the writing. They are both as responsible as each other. I do agree writers should get more recognition.

      @ams914 Рік тому

      @@DrLove-ql1wh To be fair, I didn't watch the whole podcast. It's very possible he did. It's also possible he contributed to the script and maybe didn't want credit, which would make him a GREAT guy, but the way he was talking I assumed he wrote the movie and then I looked it up.

      @@antoinettelopes Yeah, now I did, too. Great podcast. Very interesting to learn how different the original script was, too. So there were a lot of changes that I guess he worked with the writer to make, because that's still the only writer credit.

    This guy, and his IP, is a good example of what you get when someone who loves what they're doing and just wants to tell a great story, is given the reins of a movie.
    On the other hand, you have people working on IPs who don't like, or don't care, about the IP. Also, people who care more about leaving a narrative than telling a good story. Looking at you, Hollywood.
