Thank you so much. I’m only just over 2 weeks in. And I think I have a combination of material and dry scalp. I’ll do what I can for the scalp and then probably take out in the next week or so. Then I’m going to wait a while before I put them back in. I do enjoy having them though. Blessings and love to you.

For me, my hair is itchy because of fugus overgrowth, with or without dreads. for this reason I must use a ketoconzanole shampoo. this will keep fungus under control and stop the itch.

I spray my scalp with ACV and lemon juice mix, keeps the scalp clean and prevents mold in wet dreads..

rosemary diluted with water will fix this problem, just spray scalp and let dry, for all kind of issues

Was I the one giving you the idea for this video? 😁
I don't know if you remember my comment on your pros & cons on dreadlocks video, but a few months ago I commented on a lot of cons because I had a lot of irritation and itchiness on my scalp.
Well, I also had big dandruffs then. The red spot from the weight also at the beginning.
At some point, spreading almond oil on the scalp was calming. Now I use an anti-dandruff shampoo and a lotion from the pharmacy for inflammation of skin, so it has some chemicals in it, that I wanted to avoid with dreads, but well, it helped a lot and now it's a lot better. :)

I do remember! I’m so glad you were able to find something that works for you! That’s a super awesome WIN!
Do you think you’ll put your dreads back in after your skin has had time to heal and rest? Or are you done? 🥰

@@nicolepoulton actually I never took them off. To get them, I went to a hairdresser in dreadlocks, she uses a comb and brushes on the other sense, you know, then spiraled a bit and uses a crochet/hook back & forth in the dread.
Then I do the 'fixing of the roots' from time to time, which is the painful part. So I don't think, I could take them off easily like yours. Mine are fake on the length but the roots (now on 15cm) are from my hair.
But fixing the roots, I find it super annoying, & quite expensive for me... Many times, I'm thinking of cutting 'em all off and having a pixie haircut.
Thanks for your vids, take care

Love this video! Super helpful! I like to use a spray from dollylocks that's like a cleanser in between my washes. I'll usually just spray the areas that are itchy on my scalp and I'm good to go. I also have used a spray that's a home made one with an assortment of oils

Do i have to rinse after aplying that oil? Or can i just leave in. My pump(not sure if it is tension pump) on top of my head make me really itchy, i wash my dread like every 2 days...still not workin. Maybe its because of the dread(kanekalon) which cause me the itchiness so i ordered new custom wool dread set last month, it should be here now but my mail got lost so i gotta wait for like another month for the seller to remake it. Even tho right now my head is itchy like crazy but i really dont wanna take it out at all because i really like the look🤣 dont know if its gonna damage my scalp because those pump just wont go away(mine wasnt tight at all, i can barely feel any tension so i guess that is not the case)

    • @nicolepoulton
      @nicolepoulton  Рік тому

No need to wash the oil out :) just let it sit there and get to work 💪
I’m sorry your dealing with this though! If it’s not from a braid being too tight, It could be that the dread is just too heavy for your section. Maybe bring more hair to the part that is sensitive?
I would stop washing them so often. Dreads when they’re wet are SOOOOO heavy so that could be adding some stress to the follicles.
Hopefully your wool set is a bit better for you!! Good luck! 🥰
Also, what colors do you have?? Haha describe your look for meeee!!! 😄

@@nicolepoulton Mine is ombre brown ginger, not too bright and not too dark. And my real hair is blonde so they all mixing so well...oh i did try to do bigger section and it really felt "less itchy" but i want volume lol😅 my set is 30(i have a dreadhawk) and it works when i only install half of the set, i just took off last week and reinstalled like 25str for the volume. Looks way better but also the itchiness come along with it too🤣 U look so comfortable with ur dreads and im so jealous with that lol. I heard wool dread are much softer and light, just hope they will not be itching too
