- Squid - Here's how squids move around. They suck water into their mantel, then shoot it out of a siphon / funnel.

I would not have understood if it wasn’t for those stunning sound effects. Thanks!
Back when I owned aquatic snails, I would occasionally see them propel themselves with their siphon hole. Since there were no predators it was just for fun. On the other hand, pteropod snails move by flapping their "fins" or wings more similarly to how a squid would.
Why is your PFP like that
@@guy- So I can pretend to be a bot on some channels, don't worry about it.
Top tier sound effects, my man! Great vid as always
I'm taking a zoology class in high school rn, and I am obsessed with your videos. I want to study animals/nature when I am an adult, and your videos are helping to fule that drive! Thanks!
Have always had a specific draw to squid. By far my favorite critters in this huge diverse world and always have been. Would love to see an in depth dive on them. You break down things so well and have such an understandable voice!!
Finally, I now know how to move around in Splatoon, thanks!
Fr this gotta be some hidden feature
i was WAITING to find a comment about splatoon
I just got into veterinary school so this is really awesome to me. Great video
dude I'm trying to get into vetinary too but the entrance exams here are too damn hard 😅. I'm trying, hope I'll get it next year
@@InfestedSlab Good luck, you can do it!
@@augustocraveiro100 Thanks dude
@@TierraD2021 Thank you!!
If GLaDOS was interested in marine biology:
‘Aperture science…
We generate thrust, because we can.
For the good of all of us, collect the squids who are dead.’
She got real into sea life after Chell left…
More squids and octopuses please!
Awesome video! Interesting to learn things I've wondered about animals. Looking forward to what you find and show us next.😊
Jet Propulsion Squids, never thought I would say that but here we are!
This is excellent! Thank you for your videos; we use them in our homeschool lessons!
It looks like a jet pack just like flying around
Ngl that thumbnail looks like it belongs on a video titled "Alien found washed up on beach"😂
Well.. I'm mentally scarred for life now.
why??? its just an animals way to move in the water????
@@navynew it's terrifying
i personally find it fascinating and beautiful
@@guy- what about it is terrifying? I figured this was basic common knowledge
I think this stuff is very interesting and cool
I love this channel
As our favourite skull guy, I was wondering if you could bring your expertise to thylacosmilus? The lack of incisors, triangular canines and interesting premolars lead to some interesting speculation on its diet, and I would looovveee your take on it!
Love your vids bro
Get hungry watching the squid
Will you ever get a fish skull in your animal identification speed runs?
I actually prefer this kind of video. He sounds more authoritative here, instead of the faux-naive person he is in more recent videos
You were demonstrating an anatomical process of a complex marine animal by toying with it like a toy plane * woosh *
I thought this was april fools since it's obvious how they move if you just see one on video moving around
I'm both terrified and fascinated
The squids mantle is just a mushroom shape
this was so freaking cool!
So Splatoon was lying to me for all those years.. I'm starting to question everything aaaa
Don't be silly. Those squids just lost track of their ink guns somewhere
It would be awesome if you did a video on just birdwing butterfly specimens.
I have a question for you, when you get specimens, were they killed, or did they naturally die?
The April Fool's Day trick here is that he charmed all of us into learning something in an entertaining and interesting way.
Seriously though, this channel is so fricken cool. Makes me so nostalgic for my days in mammalogy lab.
Not sure if that's the sound they make under water
almost like scallops! interesting!
All hail the UA-cam algorithm at 1am
That thumbnail though! 😂😂
That's so interesting!
Yep
Anyways I subbed so Ty for vid
The thumbnail says it all.
For it to be more cool
What is your occupation? I would be interested in learning more about different forms of life
Okay but this is like actually awesome dude
you look like the guy on 'smarter every day' as if he's his son!
Your da best
Or water currents and some can walk on legs
Can squidward do this?
Thats interesting
Pretty sweet bro.
Mmm squid-ussy
Are the specimens alive or dead for reasons?
Put your hand up if you have been watching odd animal specimens for a long time 🤚
Damn.
Is this real you upload it on April fools
Jar squid
Cool
This is a section from an already existing video…
Ethanol is used for preserving?
No. The squid just like to drink ethanol for fun.
@@VictorCampos87 lol 😂
But. I panicked
Do you have cuttle fish
I kinda wish I could change what I said first
Do you have hamsters 😂
Whoooshhh
Idk if this is real bc its april fools but cool
I like commenting
Me too

Did everyone not dissect squids in highschool and figure this out? Worms, Squids, Pigs, and whatever else. No?
So, are we calling it a squssy or a squidussy?
First because why not
Not gonna lie, you look like Jesse pinkman
Never been first before
