Just found your stuff and I love it. I’m imagining your channel in the future being something like NileRed but with animal specimens. Keep up the good work and good things will come!
when you talked about how museums aren't being used reminded me of one of my favorite shows called Mysteries at the Museum which sadly isn't airing anymore but it really used museum collections to jump back in time and teach you really cool history
My kids and I loved it too. So much so that when I found this channel, I got super excited, showed my 7 year old (who loves Weird But True and Animalogic) who got excited that it was the same guy, and we binged as much of his videos as we could.
It’s pretty niche, but I’m a collection manager at Northern Michigan University and we have a large endo/ecto parasite collection if you’re interested in showing that off! They sure are funky
My son is in school to become a paleontologist & has found some pretty cool specimens on digs. He was also just recommended for an internship at our Natural History Museum.
finally another person interested in paleontology, most of my life I've been really interested in paleontology but now this topic (this youtube channel's topic) also greatly interests me anyways good luck to your son, best wishes!
This is the best channel I have come across in idk how long. So nice to watch something cool and interesting and yeah not much talked about. Super informative and interesting
Just wanted to let you know that your show was extremely influential on my son's interest in science. Now that I've come across your channel I'll have to show him as well!
I love that you sound like you truly have such a passion for animals, dead or not, it’s super awesome to see that in people, that they are truly excited about and love something they teach/do
I’ve just discovered your channel. I’ve always been fascinated by animals and biology. Your videos are great and based on this one it seems you’re too =)
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme yeah, but is credit really due simply for owning something, I understand the importance of being able to track down specimen for peer review and transparency purposes especially in science, but why should that be behind a pay wall when the goal is the advancement of collective human knowledge, it only serves to actively make research more difficult. This is an issue with academic literature in general.
I love your content...every since I seen your first video, which I believe was a Speedrun, and because I went to school for animal biology I subscribed right away and have literally went thru and watched all your other videos. Keep up the good work
I only found your channel, and I think it’s great! I’m a vertebrate paleontologist and comparative anatomist, and I’d love to see more. If you ever need help with access to collections, or for suggestions of specimens to see, let me know.
Talking about how science museums work is so so cool! I’m currently studying to be a conservator for art museums- I’ve always wondered if there’s an equivalent in science museums. Would it be the collections manager?
New Subscriber here, so glad your shorts popped up in my feed! Love your stuff. Gonna watch a lot more (and show my kids!). I was wondering... Do they not preserve things in formaldehyde anymore (or did they ever?)? Or am I a crazy person?
I saw your videos on IG and i went to your youtube real fast because your content is sooooo interesting like i never get bored 😊 and i saw your face in previous videos already😂 (ps: you’re very cute and pretty) overall you’re amazing :)
The giant squid is in the Natural History Museum in London. I don't know if it's on display because the last time i went there, they didn't have it, but i'm going next year so i hope to see it then
The squid in NHM London is called Archie and is part of the Spirit collection in the basement. It's normally not open to the public, but you can book a spot in the behind the scenes spirit collection tour to see it, alongside a ton of preserved wet specimens. You even get to see Darwin's collection too!
This is cool! Im also studying horticulture and want to get into general conservation for all things natural science! Still thinking if i should do mammals or fishes edit: im specifically doing fisheries and wildlife conservation as a minor and hort as a major
There is a small building behind my workplace. Every night there is a chonky toad hiding under the stucco, and it's always in the same spot. I stop to say hello every time I see her, even knowing she could care less about me. It's what I do.
I don’t think American toads are a boring favorite animal, I grew up around them, so i love them, I used to catch them and ask my mom if I could keep them as a pet
Wonderful video! You’re a super likeable and charismatic guy- you should make a podcast! Also, you have the same speaking pattern as Jacob Sharpe; are you Canadian by any chance?
I dont know how I was expecting you to look but you're precious! I love your tiktok so I came here! Your content is amazing and your commentary is the best, it's really what brought me in.
Saw this guy on TikTok and started watching his content it’s very cool. Kinda obsessed

sick, dude! I'm about to study marine ecosystems and fishing sciences in Hamburg, I hope I too get to see such large collections of specimens
I love that you sound like you truly have such a passion for animals, dead or not, it’s super awesome to see that in people, that they are truly excited about and love
something they teach/do
Hey! Just wanted to say that I think you are doing a great job! I learn so much from you and share it as well. Thank you!
I can listen to this guy for hours everyday
I’ve just discovered your channel. I’ve always been fascinated by animals and biology. Your videos are great and based on this one it seems you’re too =)
In general, museums have copyright privilege over their specimens and often charge fees and/or shared citation in publications.
Shared citation is always a must when you use someone else's stuff

This guy is soo cool!. Not gonna lie, i've never expected a face like this with the vibes and voice he has😂. New subscriber

RIP, I am so sorry.
@@thespectrum630 you are aware of that you live on the same planet they do, right? And that you will suffer from the same plastic water.
Ok this is awesome. On the side note, his eyes match his beanie.
Thanks for all the great information. Have you gotten to work with live species in your past?

I live in the country, in the middle of little Delaware ♥️
“I have access to all animal specimens”
Sounds like a movie villain
Face reveals usually annoy me but you look exactly like I expected 😂
That's some strong hooch
My questions are-
Name? Age? Profession? Marital status???
bro asked for a face reveal and just straight up got it
Three Times I wanted to hit the like button and realized: I already liked it 😂
You got some really straight teeth!!!
flashbacks to bio classes when u mentioned the dichotomous key holy shit lol
Wonderful video! You’re a super likeable and charismatic guy- you should make a podcast! Also, you have the same speaking pattern as Jacob Sharpe; are you Canadian by any chance?

Would love to hear about your time working in scientific film!
Can you do more videos on marine life animal pls?
I growled up watching him on disney
Do you have to pay to get access to the specimens? Or do you have free access?
Let’s start a petition to allow you to tour / film in the Large Mammal Warehouse in LA. It would be amazing to see that blue whale skull!!!
Could you provide us with a good link to a dichotomous key?

What’s the oldest specimen in the collection?
I kinda wanna know how you do the wet specimens like what is the liquid is it water or something idk I just wanna know

Is that your own collection or someone else.
Or a company owned it❤
