Hi, I have a 1992 Ford F250 7.3L IDI, I have to tap the pedal down for the "first start of the day" to kick in the choke (higher RPM) and it stays high for about 3 mins. to warm up and settles down. If I dont tap the pedal it stays at regular RPM. any idea what could be the issue ?
I have a 89 f250 7.3 idi and it's in "limp mode" with not check engine light on or anything the fuel filter light would come and go until it finally went into limp mode do you think think this could be my issue. The truck only goes 35 full throttle. Shifts okay and the transfer case shift okay as well this is the only other thing I could think of it being.
Or air leaking into the system the tank toggle valve and directly off the pump was issue on mine it was also idling on 3 cylinders sometimes sounded awesome but definitely not a good thing
Get rid of that filter setup altogether, Install a WIX 33617 fuel filter with integrated bowl drain valve. Problem solved !
I did the same lol. Way better
Did that it's worth it
Very helpful and instrumental in success of oem style fuel filtration unit replacement
Love the cover less breaker panel! Safety first you know!
What kind of air intake system is on the air filter housing ? I have a 1990 f250 xlt lariat 4x4. 7.3 idi non turbo, that thing looks bad ass i need 1
Thats how they usually look stock
My fuel filter spun like that so I took a air hammer and cut the end off then grabbed the collar and spun it off
Buy a wix one piece and no problems

That is normal operation. It is the "cold start" operation. The manual explixitly says to do this for cold starts.
High idle sensor
