    "if you cant figure out how to take some fuel lines apart and turn some bolts... well, you might be a mechanic" not sure if that's what you said but it had me rolling on the floor. thanks, this is exactly the fix i need for my idi. also, thanks for posting the exact part to get and saving me the time and money of figuring it out myself. ill use your link if i can get the mountain of of jb weld off of the plug from my last "fix"... surprisingly it held for a couple years.

    Thanks man, this was the fix! Messed around with the orings and looking to getting heater all day. Was 30 minutes from tapping it out and leaving part of the heater in there before I found your video. Went to advance auto and got one of these and had it fixed within 30 minutes. Great video!

    Good information!
    I am not very familiar with diesel but I am mechanically inclined so having this information is great in case I get a diesel engine. :)

    I know this is a 2 year old video, I did this in under 10 minutes, I just removed the filter and the filter threaded adapter stuck the plug in and put the filter back on, works perfect! However i should have read the description, i went to 8 part stores 2 hardware stores and tractor supply looking for a 1/2" rubber expansion plug, I had no idea it was a 3/4 plug and every place I went to had the 3/4" plug, I was stuck on other videos that used a 1/2" tap to thread the hole so i assumed i needed a 1/2" plug, definitely my blonde moment for the year, lol

    Great idea and video. Thanks. Will the fuel filter mate up against the top of the housing making a good seal after the conversion? Just wondering if there is a flat surface to seal top of filter with plug in place? Thanks again.

    Where can you find a new fuel filter housing, mine was leaking so I replaced the o-ring but I think it’s shot but don’t want to replace the whole filter just the housing

    Do I need new olives if I take off the hard lines? Mechanics in the area are either too busy or don't want to touch diesel.

    • @PowersFamilyFarm
      @PowersFamilyFarm  4 роки тому +1

      If they are bad sure but if they aren’t leaking you’d be fine. I didn’t have to replace anything doing this mod.

      If you absolutely have to and have no olives, but a olive sized piece of hose and put it on there. I have done that for a long time and have had no issues. EDIT: cut the hose, sorry.

      @@PowersFamilyFarm that’s awesome! Working thru some fuel leaks/air intrusions myself and ended up building a stopper similar to yours. Haven’t got it all put back together yet but after 3 part stores didn’t have anything small enough, I had to make something happen.
