Finally someone down to earth that just explains the god damn concept lol. I really hope this channel gets the attention it deserves one day for these kinds of videos.

This is really good, I like the way you're providing how you think, like slow push because you can and then decide to poke." Out of any other video I don't think they've ever done that. You deserve subs.
it took years but theres finally a good wave management video with real examples that isn't an hour long with the most needlessly indepth explanations ever. Really good video that helped me realize that I know these concepts but when I freeze I don't really use it to bully the enemy laner because Im scared of all the minion aggro, but when you said the point of the freeze is to fight the enemy it clicked. diamond soon hopefully! and you made it funny and chill. I hope your channel gets popular cause this is seriously underrated and great quality.
A good thing to also remember is that waves mirror each other on the map. So if you’re not sure if the wave will crash just check where your next wave is at the moment, and that’s where the enemy’s wave is at (usually more useful in the longer lanes)
I just feel extremly glad that I found you on your beggining since we all know here how big of a name you are going to become and being part of that journey feels unreal, even tho i am diamond 4/3 player I still watch your videos. You really are something else. Keep going.
I salute you with a wave 👋 That was the best wave management guide I've ever seen that also breaks it down from a complicated topic to simple, actionable points. Amazing
i think you forgot one thing about freezing. you said that you freeze when you want to take good trades. while that is good i must say that freezing is best when you are behind and enemy doesnot know how to break freezes. i came back from 3 kill enemy lead just by freezing in front of my tower (enemy was meele so coulnot poke me). he lost big advantage because couldnot roam/kill me. and i came back because i farmed more than him because i focuesd on that. you video is very good, i just think that this was important too.
Came from r/summonerschool, I've been looking for a good video on wave management and I am satisfied now 👌 Just a quick question or two, what should you do when your opponent is freezing ? Give your all to break the freeze by killing all his minions (which is risky) or just leave to roam ? Thanks for your answer and for the great video ✌
Depends. If there is a nice roam opportunity go for it, but you shouldnt leave the wave frozen ever. Either ask your jungler to help or try to break it yourself without dying. If you cant do it without dying go help with a gank or something then get your jungler to come
Great video, seriously. Though I feel like it might've been better to set up a slow push after killiing the Sylas. You hadn't backed for a long while, so you were pretty weak when he was back on the map. By using the minion wave to defend yourself and force a crash, I think you could've backed, bought (and been stronger again), and then just established another freeze. No jg reliance whatsoever. I could be entirely wrong here. You're certainly a better player than I am! But I do feel it at least goes to show that wave management is a pretty complicated subject. It's a lot like playing chess.
Great vid, but if you care for it I have some (hopefully) constructive criticism: I think the video should've explained "Bouncing Waves" in the Ori game where it presented itself ( the act of crashing a big enough/late enough wave that creates a slowpush towards you, which you can then freeze. Idk if this is the proper term but me and my friends use this). I think it's a good thing to understand as I see a lot of people just perma push into weak laners instead of bouncing into a freeze and denying a lot more (which is your go to method for invalidating weak early tops like Nasus) and only freeze if it naturally presents itself instead of setting it up themselves like so. I understand if "Waveholds", how to last hit under tower depending on what lanestate you want and other nuanced wavemanagement techniques are too much for a below Diamond video, but I think Bouncing the Wave should've made the cut. Also this is a mid wavemanagement video, I think you should've put that in the title or explain how diffrenetly waves work on sidelanes if you're familiar with them, to be true to the title. Other than that solid video and nice format.
Fair enough on bouncing waves, I intended to put it I'm but couldnt think of an appropriate place to include it. Also even though I used a mid lane example the concepts in top and bot are exactly the same, so they are still useful if you play those roles
@@Bonks I think in the first part when you talk about evaluating waves you could mention it there, talk about it as a technique to create a wave to you in the freezing section and then show it in practice in the Orianna game as you perform it there. From my experience even though these concepts exist for side lanes they are applied very differently eg: sidelanes are basically purely back and forth slow pushes because of the length of the lane which just doesn't let a 1 wave crash happen and the fact that you rarely get to/need to roam (other than crab fights which are telegraphed and for bot supps do the roaming) and of course the nature of the champs played there. Freezes are also a lot stronger because of the long lane and you can pull the wave level 1 thanks to the bush position which is not an option mid so I think there are a couple differences worth pointing out. I know these might sound like nitpicks but as someone recently swapping mid to top these took me a while to get used to. Also thanks for reacting your vids are great I hope you keep doing these.

Hey bonks, I know this is an old video so idk if you still respond to comments here, but I was wondering about slow-pushing with say a melee champ, or how you would wave manage as a melee champ, or a melee into ranged matchup. Since I don’t think you covered it in this video
its the exact same, you need to get wave control and just do the thing I did. Its harder to get wave control because u don't have range advantage a lot of the time so you have to acquire through trading instead
Im pretty sure you can freeze mid with 3 minion advantage. That or i did it wrong for the last 2 seasons but my freezes work so yeah(Even if you cant freeze its enought to deny the enemy a wave and recall off it before it crashes)
pretty sure if the enemy leaves the wave when u use 3 casters it pushes back into them. Idfk tho I never freeze anyway cos its useless on my one trick, with 4 it will never bounce back.
me being the -10iq player that i am, for freezing, how do you get +4 caster minions in a wave? Sorry if this is already said in the video but i have the memory span of a goldfish
If the enemy is stacking 2 waves, you can clear the 2 waves and leave only the caster minions alive and tank them in front of the tower. You can also freeze a wave with 3 caster minions, and before the freeze breaks take the caster minion from the next wave. As I showed in the image you can also do it with 3 casters and a melee, or any other combination, so it's not a big deal if you cant get the casters
I can picture myself doing a slow push for whatever reason and keep telling myself " I slow push bcz I CAN" haha it's a nice quote to remember. A nice reminder for me who loves to push hard for no reason at all.
Let's say im playing ADC and I cant work with my support, plus Im playing in a losing match up where Im always getting pushed and I cant freeze the wave due to the enemy waveclearing or the enemy is pocking me,what should I do? Also, you said that I should not push expect in a case of a teamfight/objective is about to start, and the best way is to freeze.Until a teamfight/objective is about to start, the waves should be only getting freezed? What should I do?
When your losing lane theres nothing you can do. The one who wins lane gets to control the wave, so you just have so survive and win late game. Also I didnt say that, go back and watch the push section again. There is loads you can do, roam, ward, poke the enemy under tower or a bunch of other stuff.
1. I can only do that if she pushes, which she never should as a melee into a ranged champ 2. Even if she did, slow pushing is better cos i can hit level 2 first and bully her under tower. If she gets really low, I can just keep pushing until she is forced to reset and lose something. If i freeze, she can just push the wave out easily and reset if I'm bullying her too much So no, it wouldn't have been smarter. great question tho, understandable that you might think that :)
What are you doing in a losing matchup? Still slow pushing or trying to freeze ? Bc you said you freeze to be aggressive but do you not also try to freeze to not get ganked ? Ofc you can get dived but you can also get ganked when slow pushing losing a similar amount of cs compared to a slow push
You cant freeze in a losing matchup because the enemy will just break it, and you cant contest them because you are losing. The one with the power in the lane controls the wave, if you are in a losing matchup you need to use your skill to win, then do what you want with the wave
Sorry, but I don't really enjoy adc much so I don't have plans to do that at least at the moment. I try to make my content in such a way that it's useful for all roles, if you think about it a little bit u can work out how to apply the things I teach in bot lane as well :) good luck and thanks a lot broski
@Bonks I have a question about deciding between a slow push and a freeze. It seemed that in the Orianna game you justified the slow push with "because I can", and then with the Qiyana game you justified freezing with, again, "because I can". Why didn't you freeze with Orianna, and why didn't you slow push with Qiyana?
I couldn't freeze on orianna. If you dont meet all the conditions at 14:59 you can't freeze, and I never met those conditions. If you do meet those conditions a freeze is better, and since I did on qiyana I didnt wanna slow push
Also, I’m not very familiar with league or it’s mechanics, the wave crashing into towers gives him the freedom to whatever because why? Is it because the enemy laner HAS to clear it in order to stay equally as farmed?
That's one reason, the other reason is that because your minions are attacking their tower instead of the enemy minions, you arent missing any minions during that time. So if you leave lane you dont lose anything basically
ok just want to say i saw a post from you on r/summonerschool and just played two games (Im bronze :p) after watching this vid, and won both without dying or conceding my turret in laning phase. You sir are a saint!
I have a question, I play toplane and more often than not I slowpush into the enemy tower to crash my wave and try to dive but sometimes the enemy champ is not low enough, I don't have enough kill potential or I don't have enough gold to buy something after crashing (I also cheater recall if possible or ward the river/herald if the enemy is clearing his wave under tower), In that case, should I just let them slowpush into me and build a slow push again? And if I kill them under their tower should I deny the wave that is pushing to me after I recall? Thanks in advance. Also this was a really nice video, it's certainly more useful than other wave management videos out there.
If you kill them under tower yes push the next wave After they are slow pushing back into you, if you want you can set up a freeze, or you can just push it back into them again. Whichever suits you better. Think about if you want to crash a wave or not like I was saying in the video
Hi. Great video, even though I am p4 you clarified many things for me. But still has the question in your example with Sylas, was it worth a freeze? Even if we don’t count that WW is fucked up your lane. Couldn’t you set up a slow push(while zoning Sylas out of wave) and help bottom (they were pressured under tower judging by map) while Sylas is clearing big wave?
@@Bonks Yeah, I understand your mentality. But I think that sometimes bot gank is worth just because ADC players are most tiltable creatures on this planet xD Btw, your videos are really helpful, just decided to watch all of them. Though, I want to ask a stupid question, would it be worth one-tricking Orianna to Master? I was one-trick Annie before. After your first video wanted to start one-tricking Zoe, but I have no experience with her whatsoever
This may be a dumb question.. What's best to do if you play melee (Qiyana/Sylas) against a good wave clearer (Ryze, Veigar,... )? Isn't it impossible to freeze and dangerous to push (either slow or fast)?
You can look to trade on them if they walk up to push, or roam amd accept you will miss waves. Unless you have all in threat you cant touch the wave so you have no say

Ayyyyyy
what if you cant do a slow push and the enemy is perma showing it
I have a question, I play toplane and more often than not I slowpush into the enemy tower to crash my wave and try to dive but sometimes the enemy champ is not low enough, I don't have enough kill potential or I don't have enough gold to buy something after crashing (I also cheater recall if possible or ward the river/herald if the enemy is clearing his wave under tower), In that case, should I just let them slowpush into me and build a slow push again?
And if I kill them under their tower should I deny the wave that is pushing to me after I recall? Thanks in advance. Also this was a really nice video, it's certainly more useful than other wave management videos out there.
If you kill them under tower yes push the next wave
After they are slow pushing back into you, if you want you can set up a freeze, or you can just push it back into them again. Whichever suits you better. Think about if you want to crash a wave or not like I was saying in the video
@@Bonks Oh I understand that's where I felt lost, thank you very much
Maybe, but I was smurfing and would rather play for myself than help out teammates who are worse than me.
@@Bonks Yeah, I understand your mentality. But I think that sometimes bot gank is worth just because ADC players are most tiltable creatures on this planet xD
Btw, your videos are really helpful, just decided to watch all of them. Though, I want to ask a stupid question, would it be worth one-tricking Orianna to Master? I was one-trick Annie before. After your first video wanted to start one-tricking Zoe, but I have no experience with her whatsoever
@@ilyaanon8066 one trick what you enjoy playing more than anything, but yes orianna is fine but it's a long learning process
What if i cant do a slow push?
Finally! lets gooo!
