As a support main, not only am I elo-inflated, but I will also promptly ignore all of this information and spam autos on the minion wave because I'm "helping" my ADC
i’ve needed a video like this for forever!!! all the other wave management guides seem way too broad and vague, and i never got much out of them. but this is great
This is easily the best guide on wave management on youtube. Clear. Concise. No random plugs and bs. I'm a relatively new player and this is going to help so much. Earned sub Ty
I've been trying to learn how to do this exact thing for a while (I never gave it much thought as a Viktor player, I just shove and roam or shove and hide under tower), so this video came at the perfect time.
one of your best vids hands down. I feel like a lot of low elo players (including me) underestimate wave management when it can literally make or break a game. this is def a vid I'll be watching more than once! ty again for the amazing content.
Yo~~!! Thanks Zianni! I am super happy to see this video! It's something I have been interested in learning for a long time! I am going to put this into practice in my own games. Thanks again man, amazing content!
This was very helpful, especially as a supp main who usually does not have to directly manage the wave. I will practice a few games mid or top to make sure I have the basics down! Thank you!
Perfection! Would be dope to see a follow up video of you sharing scenarios and asking the viewer what is the best thing to do in this scenario. Then explain you your explain ur answer.
Excellent guide, I loved it. I've been watching wave management guides but this one is definitely the most complete and easiest to understand. Thank you so much for your effort! Looking forward for your next video ☺️
I'm a d1 player but I felt like my problem mostly was with wave management now the good things is that I knew almost everything in this video but there were some things that I took notice to once you mentioned them so the video was great :D
1) Yes but you can just simplify it by ignoring it since minion AI will sometimes fuck the math anyways if they target differently 2) Kill casters first
Tremendously well done video! Thank you. Not much content on UA-cam can compete with yours right now, really. The problem I have on Gold elo is that I don't know if I can actually trust this information about the jungle path... Just saw on your stream a jarvan taking your flash because you thought you were safe, but he just did a really bad pathing and ganked you... Happens a lot to me xD
Thank you for the kind words. It's better to play correctly following on the proper process than just playing wrong on purpose, no harm in dying if you're making objectively the right plays. Adapting or being flexible based off information is important tho
skill cap who? this is better then their explanations I see all the time in their vids!!! good job. A series would be great of tips like this. idk maybe have a poll and see what the fans want?
Been thinking of transitioning back to mid from adc because games are just so out of my favor even when im ahead and win lane so this management guide is really useful
That's fascinating, I'm a jungle main so I don't normally watch lane states at that level of intricacy. I expect this could help my ganks in a similar vein.
Imagine I give prio to talon into anivia - amumu vs talon - heca , the first thing I see is that talon instantly invades my jungle with hecarim but in other hand my jungle can't invade and is better ganking so I guess I preffer to freeze it. If I push the lane probably I'm gonna get ganked by hecarim and probably he will use ghost and make me waste a flash and recall. So if u freeze ur jungle is the target , but if u don't freeze ur the target. What I noticed is that if I push as anivia into talon and my amumu is near of me, if heca ganks and amumu counter ganks I almost always win because I got more minions and I poked talon earlier so I got more hp but in other hand if amumu doesn't react to it or if some support moves towards mid they kinda decide who wins... So for me is too relative to know what to do because I almost never see a win-win condition, it always relies in what the other players will do. So I don't find the good decision. Every decision seems to have problems ... Another stuff that I notice is that if the wave is pushing for me it's true that he can move quickly but in other hand if the fight doesn't take too much time and I move too to evade the invade sometimes they lose more minions moving because the wave didn't crash and it was slow pushing into me. But I don't really find a way to play around it because although I see it my team doesn't or doesn't care and I can't just say stop now to fight if we stop now we win adv because I win in minion adv now . I see the same kind of stuff like nidalee invading while I'm under tower and I move and I lose minions and she keeps invading my jungle and after the wave dies under my tower nidalee just leaves... Although I liked ur content I don't find it so linear as u say it I would like to watch some videos more directed to master -gm players that find themselves hardstucked and want to understand their mistakes .
Great video. Love the educational content. I don't get to play much. Usually one game a day but I love when I let the enemy mid push me in then they realize they fucked themselves. Lol
Thanks for the info Zianni, I have a question though, what you should do with your wave if you are playing Orianna for example into an assassin matchup like Akali. As you kinda want to have prio to prevent them from roaming and killing your side laners, but this can kill because of ganks or assassins All-ins, and if you freezed the wave they may roam and kill your side laners and snowball out of control. So both options have pros and cons but which option should I invest my time in generally on assassin mathups as Orianna
That's the crutch of the problem, good job. It then becomes jungle reliant or you just focus on wave clearing to apply pressure. As long as you're warding for your teammates you can also push or hold to make them lose CS. Lower elos don't understand roam timers so they roam while losing minions so you're pretty much forced to put pressure since the enemy mid doesn't care they're 50 cs lol
Video helped me a lot understanding the fundamentals of waves but I’m not sure if my jungler will have the same opinion about this, playing in silver division since I’m new to this game !!
Hi. Today I just watched ur video about improving in League. Could u say that wave management is the most important skill to learn in League? I'm thinking about starting mastering it, as first step towards master :)
The fundamentals of laning (Farming + trading) are the basic requirement for wave management to be relevant. If you hold a wave and do nothing with it, why does it matter if you held the wave.
Push wave and walk away until it resets lol, if you're not there after it pushes it doesn't matter XD All you do on Malz is wait for gank then flash ult. Malz is not very good for learning the game, just very niche playstyle.
one thing to add: single target spells and AAs draw Minion aggro. when the enemy minions are attacking you they are not dpsing the ally wave. this naturally pushes the lane and could break your freeze if you don't pay attention.
Thanks for helping with it, I always struggle to make decisions about my wave
Np, my pleasure
As a support main, not only am I elo-inflated, but I will also promptly ignore all of this information and spam autos on the minion wave because I'm "helping" my ADC

Still don't get it. I think I'm too stupid for wave management. After 10 years I still haven't learned even the basics of this.

The rule of thumb using the lines just before 8:50 representing the incoming wave's impact was great.
Very clear and informative!

This was really helpful bro. Definitely really useful information in here
2 questions;
1. Does the hp of the creeps factor into push?
2. Is better to kill the enemy melees or casters first to slow push?
1) Yes but you can just simplify it by ignoring it since minion AI will sometimes fuck the math anyways if they target differently

Hi Zianni, nice video. Can you tell me what music usually is playing in your (vod) videos? It sounds like it's from a game, I find it very relaxing.
My VODs on stream are audiospliced so there should be no music. UA-cam videos is old-school runescape music
