    If you're in junior high and you're reading this, do not despair. There is hope. YOU are hope. You do not need to agree with anyone, including Peterson - but you must think and speak for yourself. Without moral autonomy, there is no hope.

    A tip on the video production: It looks like the cameras were set to autofocus. Better to set the focus manually on the subject's face and leave it there. You don't want the camera automatically shifting focus when something moves in the background.

He interviews THEM, not the other way around but it would be nice for him to take a more solid stance on things to stimulate critical thought for his guests and listeners

    Thank you, Dr. Peterson.
    I found myself rejoicing at the end of this interview, when you spoke about wanting to connect with an audience of young women. I believe it is really important for you to reach the minds and hearts of young women in the same way you have been able to touch young men.
    By way of encouragement...many older people (seniors) are becoming more aware of you and responding positively.
    I am grateful to know a number of seniors (men and women) who are alert to issues impacting our culture...
    Our children and grandchildren are being influenced and seduced. Many of them are mindlessly following the tune of the modern Pied Piper....
    The piper plays the tune they want to hear... promising a future of unfettered freedom...but, in fact, what awaits them is: personal, social, political, and metaphysical slavery.

      I cannot claim to have heard of the lady in question before this interview so I cannot comment. However, have you seen or read anything of her material other than the drivel that the media presents as "evidence"? For example, I have now watched & read a great deal of content by Dr Peterson, should I have instead merely look at how the media viewed this man I may have jumped to the conclusion that he's a hideous radical right extremist with a campaign to decimate the left leaning individuals.

      I am me is talking about Candace Owens. Some people take issue with the fact that she had a website that never went active that was involved in doxing people with views that weren't agreed with by her and her political group of extreme leftists. She turned around and started to shift in her political views a little while later and became an advocate for free speech and self responsibility in the black communities. She now identifies more with conservative politics. Her past might be the reason. Might be another reason.

    Are we ever gonna get a Peterson vs Chomsky debate? People on the left see him as their Jordan Peterson so to speak. Heavy hitter vs heavy hitter would be interesting. I don't know if Chomsky avoids speaking to someone who could challenge him, or if people on the right who could challenge him are afraid to because he's steel man of the left. But he has a powerful influence and I think he's fostering too much anti American sentiment. It would be nice to see him taken down a peg for a change.

    • @trmnatr21
      @trmnatr21 6 років тому +32

      Derek Moore Chomsky doesn't like Peterson or Harris. He claims they are not worthy of attention and he denied doing a discussion with Sam Harris. I feel it would be the same with Peterson. Strange because, if Chomsky doesn't believe they're anything special, why wouldn't he want to do the discussion? If we're all being duped, why not try and actively engage with the person to educate them (or expose them, I guess). Personally, I think Chomsky is old and is just not up to the task. The fact he's willing to talk to Stefan Molyneux and not Jordan Peterson or Sam Harris is VERY telling imo. I don't understand the logic at all and think he's just copping out. Funny because when I listen to Chomsky talk about post modernism and the problems in politics, he overlaps a lot with Peterson's thoughts.

    Way to go we need more free thinkers. Thank you both for being a voice of reason.
    Absolutely. Those who disc us when we don't cower tho their ideology are not our friends.
    Charlie, you're an amazing young man. You are blessed. No matter what you put your hand to you will prosper.
    Failure is only redirection for those who seek to follow their calling. I started intentionally growing into my calling when I was 22. Now at age 65, I look back on my life experiences in awe of how they all worked together to bring me into the fullness of who I am created to be.
    If I were in an audience listening to you present this, I would give you a standing ovation.
    When I was 25, I had the opportunity to be the only white person on the job. Fascinating.
    This was in Homestead, Florida. I learned so much about that culture. One of the obvious standards was motherhood outside of marriage. My coworkers found me odd as a single childless woman with or without a man.
    Keep up the great work. You two are challenging us to be better people.

    This is a very good conversation. Kirk understands JBP's work; yet he isn't a blind follower, but an exceptionally intelligent man. A lot of wisdom unfolded in a short time.
    As a white male "victim" of the current culture who is struggling with depression and finding purpose, I got renewed hope in hearing of his friend's turnaround when using the self-authoring program. When hope is lost it's easy to forget how much power one has in changing things for themselves for the better, and in the grip of addiction no less, that friend persevered. It's inspiring. Two great humans here, and huge props to Kirk's friend for improving himself -- and to everybody else who's done the same. It's never easy but you've done it nonetheless.

    As 24 year old guy who has seen his profile and status grow at the rate that Charlie Kirk’s has, it would be easy to come off as arrogant, controlling and self important. But throughout the interview he remains curious, engaged and respectful. Sits up straight with his shoulders back lol.
    Really speaks to his upbringing along with the positive influence JBP has on people, regardless of who they are.

    The cutting and framing on this is a bit distracting. Both people are almost in frame, but just not. And there's too much negative space, you and your subject are made to look diminutive.In addition to this the mics are blocking both you and your subject. It's a good interview, but these things are marring it.

      Adam W - I have noticed this amongst all conservatives - they lag behind in identity group names- that label was politically correct in the last 2 decades- I find it reprehensible that the left and Dems are calling blacks - people of color AGAIN- as that wad how southern democrats used to label the restrooms in the south under segregation. In the 19 80's you would have been in a fight for using that race label!

    • @OffDaChainChico7
      @OffDaChainChico7 4 роки тому

      Not all blacks are the same. African-American culture is different from Jamaican or Dominican or Nigerian cultures. That’s the benefit of using the term African-American

    • @Tain_edReaper
      @Tain_edReaper 4 роки тому

      "Blacks" as a word has negative connotations in our world. Whether its justified or not is besides the point. If you're talking about a contentious issue with people who really want to pull you down in bad faith, saying "black" instead of "african american" gives them the perfect racist label. And most audiences are over-sensitive to accusations of racism without inquiry.

    Ive never commented on anything before but I just love listening to you Jordan Peterson!! I found you a few months ago and haven’t stopped listening to you since. I hope one day you could maybe do a segment talking to adult women and what we can do to better ourselves and our children. I do get down when you talk about the affects of fatherless children (especially boys) because I am in that situation and constantly worry about it. Im a single mother to an 8 yr old son, his father has been incarcerated since he was 2. I then realized through your lectures I fallen into the overprotective mother category since then (I’m trying to improve on that now thanks to you) also despite a degree and working two jobs, I can’t seem to get out of the low income bracket these last few years. My point is with all that I constantly worry about all the odds stacked against my son (fatherless, poor, with a exhausted, stressed, overprotective mother) and would love your insights on ways women like me can improve the chances of our sons (and us) having a more productive and happy life in-spite of the struggles.

  • @j.h252
    @j.h252 6 років тому +7

    Well, Jordan is a strong thorn in the flesh of the left, so they curse him and put him into the right corner, all though, he is in the center. So, he is doing a great job uncovering the rotten Ideology of identity nonsense. Go on Jordan, people seeing, you are a true speaker of reason!

    • @j.h252
      @j.h252 6 років тому

      Well, I think Alt-Right is not an alternative same as the Alt-Left. The result of both systems is desaster, we have seen it and dont need both of them. Whats not right though, is that all the Alt-Lefties can express their dangerous and rotten nonsens without being restricted. If they woult shut down JBP, that would be a big problem, cause he is in the center of reason. They cant do this anymore, cause JBP is too big. They tried it once, but the backlash was enormous.

  • @CodySharp82
    @CodySharp82 6 років тому +4

    This Kirk guy oversimplifies things drastically which doesn't come off well. It's the exact opposite of what Peterson usually does during his conversations. For example, Kirk simplifies a lack of fathers down to Johnson and his Great Society. Like most complex things, it cannot be pinned down so easily. There was social changes and upheavals that caused this demographic change over a 40 or 50 years period that began in the 30s or maybe even earlier. Also, he seems to be using all of the standard-bearer Republican talking points. Those same things have been told over and over again for decades. That doesn't mean they're wrong, but I could hear the exact same thing from Newt Gingrich. I would love to see Jordan Peterson not connect with these types of people and groups. While there are aspects of Mr. Kirk's work that seem good and redeemable, being so bullishly conservative and Republican does not help the liberal impression that Jordan Peterson is not an equal opportunity thinker and instead is just a mouthpiece for the Republican Party.

    I mean in any situation in which opinions are being drowned out...
    Needless to say it is always important to hear and learn about new perspectives.
    If your perspective is so fragile that an opposing viewpoint can shatter it, and with it you, how can you call yourself fit for life, and through that society?
    Build your perspective, and with it you will find that your ability to face the issues of life will increase. If one way doesn’t work try another.
    Be unconventional if necessary. Do the unthinkable. Don’t take anything for granted and certainly don’t take anything at face value.
    Affirm yourself, don’t abandon yourself.

They're unskilled at reading. They're unnskilled at writing. They're unskilled at using either to communicate ideas. They're resentful. because their parents have failed them.
