LOVEBITES performed LIVE 4 shows THIS YEAR 2021!. Three in March including one in Tokyo on the 26th, video and audio recorded for another Blu-ray release! Audience spacing and masks required, but they got it done, the April 2nd final show just in time as 'lockdown' was re-imposed on April 3. (all Japan waiting for LOVEBITES to lift our spirits up once again!). Still photos are on their Instagram pages. The song you just watched, second in this show, is from February 21, 2020, right before the initial 'lockdown'. Since they were unable to tour in 2020, what could have been their WORLD introduction, instead, on October 25, the 3rd anniversary of their first full CD release, Awakening From Abyss was performed "studio-live" in it's entirety as pay-per-view and very limited Blu-ray release entitled "Awake Again - Live From Abyss". Drummer Haruna repeatedly 'breaks the forth wall' drawing us right into the room with them. She is a marvel and delight to watch!

Love the looks of a 1st timer who knows nothing about the band. Petite women who strap on high heels (which they play in for the entire concert) and white dresses so that they can be seen on stage and suddenly the Metal Goddesses explode right in front of you. Formed in 2016 to bring more European sounds to J/Metal they took all the glory of 80's metal and elevated and incorporated into their own talented songs. Miho/bass (founder), Haruna/drums all 4' 9" of the pocket rocket, Midori/Blond lead guitar Flash/Shred extrovert, Miyako/black lead guitar/piano/keyboard Techie/Tones/Harmonics introvert and Asami/vocals (ex-ballerina who comes from R & B/Soul/Jazz background and never sang a metal song till she joined this band). These women all play multiple instruments, are insanely talented and perform flawlessly especially LIVE. Anything from their 2019 or 2020 concerts will blow you away as there is not a bad song in their entire catalog. Once bitten you will always return to the Wolf-Pack for more epic music, Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Ballads and classical piano played LIVE like no other band. This band is so in sync and tight it is stunning to watch.

Best band in the world. There are lots of amazing bands in Japan, and the "all-female" bands are getting a lot of attention these days, which is cool and well deserved, but Lovebites have really elevated the "metal" genre to a whole other level. They are without a doubt the cream of the crop.

Right. And think of what "THEY"'ve got now. hahaha...and also Lovebites's sound is more than that. They've got their own sound. Those idiots out there think Lovebites as an oldies mimic band like Sha Na Na. They always say, "Oh, this is Maden!, Priest, Helloween, DragonForce, Slayer, Metalica.....stupid. Lovebites is influenced not only from 80s, 90s, but influenced from 19th century by Dovolzark, Tcheakovsky, Shopin, and heavily from Rachmaninov. That is the reason they sound so clear and sound very much "music".

My friend, Welcome to a whole new world!!!!!. You are feeling just the same as I did when I found and was bitten by them..... WHY THE HELL HAVE I NOT KNOWN ABOUT THEM BEFORE??? They literally have changed my life. I have been into metal for nearly 40 years, I have seen Maiden, Metallica, Gamma Ray, Whitesnake, Accept live... Nothing...noone compares to Lovebites. I got all their albums, live gigs... And they have only been around for five years or so. The future is theirs. I hope they got to be very big...as big as they deserve. As you say... they are Greek Godesses and their music is music of the Gods. Amen.

I highly appreciate your review. I think I'll subscribe your channel. I'll tell you somethings about this live. The cameras were 26 that I've heard of. I assume, you think about how good recording is. The sound engineers are Finn unit. I recommend you to try Thunder Vengeance which is the opener, and Edge of the World, and following We the United, these two are the closer of the stage. Then you'll understand they keep the energy and perfect quality of the performance till the very end of their stage. Especially, you as a drummer, you'll be amazed the pocket dynamo, she doesn't reach even 5 feet, is still beating and kicking as hell. She is a grizzly bear in a squirrel's clothing. The stage lasts like almost 2 hours but they can go another 2 more hours. Those girls, except tall black haired girl, are about 5 foot tall. Small girls. Imagine, if you are carrying 10 pound guitar on your shoulder for 2 hours, and running around in heels, and you still shred, bend, tap, sweep on your guitar insanely.
THUNDER VENGEANCE live at ZeppDiver City, Tokyo! You have so many more songs to discover, many of which are far more impressive than this one, if you can believe that. This band out-Slayers Slayer. They Out-Dragonforce Dragonforce. This song is slow compared to what they can do.
This song is a shock and awe like nothing else. You should react to the song Thunder Vengeance from the same show, to see how they opened the show and to compare. They are outstanding.

First: They keep that up for almost two hours, but it's never boring because every song is different. So: Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. And alternate with other bands--the problem with listening to a lot of Lovebites is that you start to think the way they play is normal. It is not. Welcomed to the amazing world of Lovebites. These women are so talented, skillful and great musicians. They play (mostly) power metal and they have influences from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Slayer, Dragon Force, Gary Moore, Whitesnake, etc., but they’re developing their own style. I recommend their live performances; they really shine live, especially their latest concert earlier last year “Zepp Diversity, Tokyo 2020”. Other recommended live performances are “Daughters of the dawn”, “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”. Avoid “Bloodstuck” (bad audio). To understand how great these musicians are. I strongly recommend their song "Empty Daydream"(live). The musical skills of all 5 members of the band are impressive. Unfortunately, they only have 43,000 subscribers. But Lil Pump 17,000,000? I don't get it. What is wrong with Generation Z that they don't appreciate what real skill is?
Wish there were videos from any of their live songs that is only from the camera that is behind Haruna for the entire song. When I play drums, for me, that is dancing to the music.

Hey, loved your enthusiastic reaction to, and analysis of, Holy War. Luckily I discovered the Japanese hard rock/metal scene back in 2014 and Lovebites in the fall of 2017 and I really enjoy seeing people who have discovered them recently reacting to them. There's no doubt about it, Lovebites are the real deal and one of the best bands, male or female, to emerge on to the world scene in decades. No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly like Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass and bad-ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
Miho (bass) and Haruna (the 4'9" power house on the drums) were in a band called Destrose, which they left because they wanted something heavier. One year later they formed Lovebites. Myako, the guitarist in the long dress, is a prodigy. She started classical piano at 3. At 18, she decided to play guitar. She writes most of the band's music. Midori, the blonde guitarist, picked up her first guitar at 18. Asami, the vocalist, is a trained R&B singer. Lovebites is her first metal band. She writes the lyrics for most of the songs, and she writes them based on the music. You might as well enjoy yourself, because this band is the Japanese version of Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

This has got to be one of the best Lovebites reactions i have seen. Your face when they went into overdrive, priceless! As someone who plays drums myself, i must say i wanted to see more love for HARUNA! She is such a beast behind the kit, but i understand this style of power metal doesn't allow for her to stand out much, i LOVE her cymbal work! You are spot one when you say they are a unit, after all the name of this DVD is "Five of a Kind". The guitar work is the obvious stand out in this band, 2 amazing shredders with Miyako (black hair) being the main composer. Im not totally sure about all of them but i know Haruna (drums) and Miyako (black hair guitar) are very active with exercise, healthy body, healthy mind as they say! Please check out "Swan Song" (with the piano intro), "Edge of the World", "Break the Wall", "Raise Some Hell", "Hammer of Wrath", "Thunder Vengeance", "Addicted" all Live in 2020 from this same show. Im a huge fan of both Lovebites and Band Maid and im glad you are discovering them both, they are very different musically and both are world class bands at the top of their game! Hey this was only the second song of the show. They hadn't even warmed up at this point!

Best band in the world. There are lots of amazing bands in Japan, and the "all-female" bands are getting a lot of attention these days, which is cool and well deserved, but Lovebites have really elevated the "metal" genre to a whole other level. They are without a doubt the cream of the crop.

Right. And think of what "THEY"'ve got now. hahaha...and also Lovebites's sound is more than that. They've got their own sound. Those idiots out there think Lovebites as an oldies mimic band like Sha Na Na. They always say, "Oh, this is Maden!, Priest, Helloween, DragonForce, Slayer, Metalica.....stupid. Lovebites is influenced not only from 80s, 90s, but influenced from 19th century by Dovolzark, Tcheakovsky, Shopin, and heavily from Rachmaninov. That is the reason they sound so clear and sound very much "music".

They literally have changed my life. I have been into metal for nearly 40 years, I have seen Maiden, Metallica, Gamma Ray, Whitesnake, Accept live... Nothing...noone compares to Lovebites. I got all their albums, live gigs... And they have only been around for five years or so. The future is theirs. I hope they got to be very big...as big as they deserve. As you say... they are Greek Godesses and their music is music of the Gods. Amen.

I'll tell you somethings about this live. The cameras were 26 that I've heard of. I assume, you think about how good recording is. The sound engineers are Finn unit.
I recommend you to try Thunder Vengeance which is the opener, and Edge of the World, and following We the United, these two are the closer of the stage. Then you'll understand they keep the energy and perfect quality of the performance till the very end of their stage. Especially, you as a drummer, you'll be amazed the pocket dynamo, she doesn't reach even 5 feet, is still beating and kicking as hell. She is a grizzly bear in a squirrel's clothing.
The stage lasts like almost 2 hours but they can go another 2 more hours. Those girls, except tall black haired girl, are about 5 foot tall. Small girls. Imagine, if you are carrying 10 pound guitar on your shoulder for 2 hours, and running around in heels, and you still shred, bend, tap, sweep on your guitar insanely.
There is so much more and it only gets so much better
THUNDER VENGEANCE live at ZeppDiver City, Tokyo! You have so many more songs to discover, many of which are far more impressive than this one, if you can believe that. This band out-Slayers Slayer. They Out-Dragonforce Dragonforce. This song is slow compared to what they can do.
This song is a shock and awe like nothing else. You should react to the song Thunder Vengeance from the same show, to see how they opened the show and to compare. They are outstanding.
Of all the reactions I've seen for lovebites, I'd have to say this is definitely my favorite reaction.

First: They keep that up for almost two hours, but it's never boring because every song is different. So:
Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity.
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level.
This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18.
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. And alternate with other bands--the problem with listening to a lot of Lovebites is that you start to think the way they play is normal. It is not. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Hey, loved your enthusiastic reaction to, and analysis of, Holy War. Luckily I discovered the Japanese hard rock/metal scene back in 2014 and Lovebites in the fall of 2017 and I really enjoy seeing people who have discovered them recently reacting to them. There's no doubt about it, Lovebites are the real deal and one of the best bands, male or female, to emerge on to the world scene in decades. No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly like Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass and bad-ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
Miho (bass) and Haruna (the 4'9" power house on the drums) were in a band called Destrose, which they left because they wanted something heavier. One year later they formed Lovebites. Myako, the guitarist in the long dress, is a prodigy. She started classical piano at 3. At 18, she decided to play guitar. She writes most of the band's music. Midori, the blonde guitarist, picked up her first guitar at 18. Asami, the vocalist, is a trained R&B singer. Lovebites is her first metal band. She writes the lyrics for most of the songs, and she writes them based on the music. You might as well enjoy yourself, because this band is the Japanese version of Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

As someone who plays drums myself, i must say i wanted to see more love for HARUNA! She is such a beast behind the kit, but i understand this style of power metal doesn't allow for her to stand out much, i LOVE her cymbal work!
You are spot one when you say they are a unit, after all the name of this DVD is "Five of a Kind". The guitar work is the obvious stand out in this band, 2 amazing shredders with Miyako (black hair) being the main composer.
Im not totally sure about all of them but i know Haruna (drums) and Miyako (black hair guitar) are very active with exercise, healthy body, healthy mind as they say!
