The main reason for the white dresses is that LOVEBITES unlike most metal bands don't go the "dark and doom" route, they are all about spreading positive and uplifting messages and that is also reflected in their lyrics (which are all in English and very good). Also they are very small and the white helps them stand out on stage. I enjoyed your reaction very much, please continue your LOVEBITES discovery with us through these reactions. You ain't seen nothing yet. I think it's great that five women can play metal better and rock harder than many men. Lovebites are definitely the real deal. I would put them up against any male metal band and I think they would probably slay the opposition with their technical ability, songwriting skills and live performance. That they make it seem so effortless at the same time as looking like supermodels on the catwalk and perform a full 90 minute plus gig, playing their instruments, moving around the stage, headbanging and changing the pedals on their effects boards wearing four inch high heels and do not even break sweat says it all says it all. Does a band really need mutliple tattoos and piercings, ragged jeans and T-shirts, drug and alcohol problems to play metal ? I bet that if you had only HEARD this track you would have assumed it was a male band fronted by a female singer.

Iam in love from Bolivia Latinoamerica, LOVEBITES, Guitarists Miyako and Midori are both from the city of Osaka, both took piano lessons for years (Midori also learned organ), and both took up the guitar relatively late. Midori went to music school - Musicians Institute Osaka branch, where one of her instructors was the late Mikio Fujioka, lead guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band - and Miyako is basically self-taught. Miyako made use of a well-known instructional book series, whose title literally translated into English is "Mechanical Training Phrases from Hell", working her way through the entire guitar series. There are versions of these instructional books for bass and drums too, and there's hardly a Japanese musician on those instruments who hasn't studied them.
The U.K. has a band too...Sleep Token...I've got a million requests for them. Everywhere except America I guess....music from USA is really just trash at this point

Enjoyed the reaction! New subscriber. Their guitars are tuned the same, but I think I know what you're saying. They use two totally different rigs (Midori: ESP guitar, Seymour Duncan pickups through a Kemper head and Marshall cab. Miyako: Dean Icon with Fishman Fluence pickups through a Peavey 5150 and Orange cab), which gives them each a distinct tone. And yes, they each have very different approaches to their playing style, which complements each other very well. Definitely keep the Lovebites coming. There is quite a trend of all female hard rock/heavy metal bands in Japan right now. Two more of my favorites are Band Maid (a bit closer to hard rock), and Nemophila (more of a modern metal sound with 7-string guitars). Check them out if you want to dive further down the rabbit hole. Looking forward to the next one!
I know there's a lot of music out there, but as much as you say you think they are amazing, you haven't done one since. That I'm a little surprised about. Their catalog is stuffed full of amazing songs. From this same concert: The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath - play both together - amazing Break the Wall - their heaviest and thrashiest, Slayeresque (some say Megadeth) Swan Song with Chopin Intro - you want to see piano? Hey Sweeny, I will admit that I have not read all of the comments, but I have some information that may make a huge difference in he future... Miho, the Bassist and one of the co-founders; announced in lat 2020 or early this year (2021) that she is leaving the band. I don't know the particulars and if you can get more information on that issue, please update everyone. I absolutely adore these ladies. I started calling Haruna, the Energizer Bunny, because she just goes on, and on, and on... Can you imagine the condition her abs and legs are in doing what she does for 2 hours at every concert? I absolutely love this band, they slay it all the time, every time! If you haven't done it yet; check out Band Maid... Thrill... They are another all female Japanese metal band, you will suffer metal shock!

Iam in love from Bolivia Latinoamerica, LOVEBITES, Guitarists Miyako and Midori are both from the city of Osaka, both took piano lessons for years (Midori also learned organ), and both took up the guitar relatively late. Midori went to music school - Musicians Institute Osaka branch, where one of her instructors was the late Mikio Fujioka, lead guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band - and Miyako is basically self-taught. Miyako made use of a well-known instructional book series, whose title literally translated into English is "Mechanical Training Phrases from Hell", working her way through the entire guitar series. There are versions of these instructional books for bass and drums too, and there's hardly a Japanese musician on those instruments who hasn't studied them.

Enjoyed the reaction! New subscriber. Their guitars are tuned the same, but I think I know what you're saying. They use two totally different rigs (Midori: ESP guitar, Seymour Duncan pickups through a Kemper head and Marshall cab. Miyako: Dean Icon with Fishman Fluence pickups through a Peavey 5150 and Orange cab), which gives them each a distinct tone. And yes, they each have very different approaches to their playing style, which complements each other very well. Definitely keep the Lovebites coming. There is quite a trend of all female hard rock/heavy metal bands in Japan right now. Two more of my favorites are Band Maid (a bit closer to hard rock), and Nemophila (more of a modern metal sound with 7-string guitars). Check them out if you want to dive further down the rabbit hole. Looking forward to the next one!
I know there's a lot of music out there, but as much as you say you think they are amazing, you haven't done one since. That I'm a little surprised about. Their catalog is stuffed full of amazing songs.

Hey Sweeny, I will admit that I have not read all of the comments, but I have some information that may make a huge difference in he future... Miho, the Bassist and one of the co-founders; announced in lat 2020 or early this year (2021) that she is leaving the band. I don't know the particulars and if you can get more information on that issue, please update everyone. I absolutely adore these ladies. I started calling Haruna, the Energizer Bunny, because she just goes on, and on, and on... Can you imagine the condition her abs and legs are in doing what she does for 2 hours at every concert? I absolutely love this band, they slay it all the time, every time! If you haven't done it yet; check out Band Maid... Thrill... They are another all female Japanese metal band, you will suffer metal shock!

Fami is equally as insanely talented as Miho. She has already appeared on the new album "Judgement Day" and made some live appearanced, one of them in Tokio was recorded and will be released as "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" on August 23rd, 2023...

Miyako plays also piano, Midori as well, the 2 guitar goddesses. This is serious, really; I do not want to compare, because there is NOTHING...and I mean...NOTHING, I ever heard, better than this. I love metal ... but I'm tired of the same power metal that Stratovarius and Heloween have played since I was nineteen ... I prefer other female j-metal bands like Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Bridear, Trident or even Band - Maid or Doll$Boxx, that I feel sound more natural.👍
