Lovebites is a prime example of a band that is built to play arena's and stadiums. There is nothing sloppy about how they look, their musicianship is world class, and their overall presentation is that of a band that knows they belong in the biggest venues.

And nonetheless I never could “digest” Dragonforce. Actually power metal (or post90s metal in general) got me really disenchanted about ten+ years ago (except old masters, and some exceptions like Luca Turilli who has a different style than Lovebites though)… About 16 months it was Lovebites and the Japanese who brought me back home and gave me hope again

Your 1st Lovebites reaction was Set The World On Fire live, just you two guys. You totally geeked out on gear and were very impressed with that one as well; it was classic. Great to see you randomly come back and do another! Keep them coming. You could go with one of their new album MVs Judgement Day or Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down) which features new bassist, Fami. Or continue with old material which features former bassist Miho (such as Holy War). My recommendation is Break The Wall live 2020 ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html, music written by Miho after seeing a Slayer show. A brutally, melodic thrash metal riff with two contrasting yet perfect solos. 🤘

Yes I do in fact enjoy listening about all the details you guys say about songwriting, scales, techniques, gear etc, that's why when I look for reactions, I look for them from musicians - I want to learn something, not just hear "i liked it, thanks for watching". So don't you worry about long commentary after the song, that's why I'm here ;) I would also love to hear singer's imput about voice techniques ;)
Welcome to the Wolfpack! (the name for the Lovebites fans :D) - Glad to see you fully enjoying the best metal band on the planet. It's great to see more people discovering our ladies! I encourage you to check out some of their live performances too - in my decades of metal fandom, I've never heard cleaner sound out of a band live. Also, the white gowns are their usual "Battle Uniforms", one of their newest songs "Stand and Deliver" is one of the few MVs they have done in casual clothes. Haruna is the drummer - called "The Little Engine" - because she just crushes the drum parts and rhythm section on every song, and she is completely indefatiguable! Miyako is our right side guitarist who also does all the background synth and piano work. In addition, she also writes and does everything with that calm, cool professionalism. :) She is called "The Golden Touch" for a reason - everything she touches turns gold. Midori is the blonde guitarist with the amazing hair on the left side, and she is "The Crazy Shredder" - because, well, it is what it says. She's insanely good and aggressive shredder. She also performs in bodybuilding competitions. :) On bass you have Miho - one of the founders of the band - a great talent who stepped down from her role just a couple years ago - if you check out their latest album, you will meet their current bassist, the amazingly talented Fami - who doesn't have a nickname yet - but she really has injected even more energy and passion into the group. Fun fact: Fami is the tallest member of the band, at 5'2" tall. :)

great reaction people - you could literally spend a month doing LOVEBITES and not find 2 songs that sound the same. diversity is their middle name and they are all amazing. most complete band i've seen since i don't know when
Their sound has lots of similarities with the Finnish band Sonata Arctica, that Victorian era culture the Japanese love so much and incorporate recurrently in all mediums of their entertainment industry.
It's not so much that they are influenced by Dragonforce as that both they and Dragonforce are influenced by Helloween. They have other influences, too, especially Iron Maiden, but it is mainly that Helloween influence you're hearing in this song.
To get an idea of the range they cover, you can try Swan Song (with Chopin intro), A Frozen Serenade, Raise Some Hell. For some uplifting, empowering lyrics, check out We the United, Rising. For mind blowing guitar solos and duets, try When Destinies Align, Shadowmaker, Signs of Deliverance, Scream for Me. In fact, the guitar work is always fabulous, you will hardly find better twin guitars, if any.
Love the analysis from bro in the middle-very nice. Lovebites plays heavy metal, power, thrash, progressive, ballads, and its all on this level-probably the best metal band in the universe right now. You aint see nothing yet but Holly War is a good start. Take care and react to more Lovebites, you re gonna love it more and more and more and more....
I would definitely recommend 'Scream For Me' from their DVD Live From Abyss where MIyako and Midori finish it off with a minute and half shred exchange. I can't put the link in, but search as "Lovebites- Scream For Me [Awake Again - Live From Abyss]"
Great reaction and in detail analysis! Lovebites songs are not from the influence of other music or musician. Rather, they have integrated and reconstructed different metals, pure classic and progressive rock. Actually Miyako, the right hand lead guitarist, plays full swing classic piano of Chopin’s etude, as the intro of Swan Song, switches to the guitar quickly and switches back again to the piano to end up the song with very very beautiful melody. I also recommend Break the Wall, a smile to the nostalgic progressive in the middle, a very cleverly structured song with other aspects. Of course, the live is better than the studio!
Wonderful reaction! Didn't understand anything in the tech part but Lovebites is just the best. Would be nice to see you guys listen to some European metal in the form of Frozen Crown or Visions of Atlantis

Influenced or not, they're definitely friendly with DragonForce. I saw a video where they were touring together, and Herman put on a gown, for an ending Jam session. Great job, and Rock on, guys! 🤘😎👍
A lot of you need to listen to the Japanese Rock/Metal bands of the 80's and 90's; such as X Japan, Show Ya, Luna Sea, Loudness, etc. They are better than many of the western bands of that era.
If you listen their song "When destinies align", now THAT's a nod towards Dragon Force and the "positive vibes" power metal like master plan etc. This song is more towards Judas Priests, Iron Maiden etc. maybe a bit Rhapsody... :) "This is one of the most power metal thing I've ever heard!", yes it's up there for sure, but go and listen to some Luca Turilli/Rhapsody and their albums "Symphony of Enchanted Lands" or "Prophet of the Last Eclipse". These women do not miss the mark by any stretch of the imagination. It's pure joy that they've brought good old 80's and 90's metal back to the front... we've lost so much because young people want "new" metal all the time, that ultimately has gone way out of what's considered metal, and forget how much great music was written before they were even born :)
I, too, was hearing a Dragonforce influence. Or, maybe, Lovebites and Dragonforce both started from a similar set of influences and took it in a similar direction?
This is a clip they explain their hardware but pretty old, was in 2019 ua-cam.com/video/2zcEP8WHEpc/v-deo.html. They changed their equipment pretty much, ant this clip shows Miyako the dark haired guitarist's recent hardware after Stratovarius at 5:00 ua-cam.com/video/JuAV3t0sJi0/v-deo.html&pp=ygUobG92ZWJpdGVzIHJvY2sgZnVqaXlhbWEgbWl5YWtvIGVxdWlwbWVudA%3D%3D.
It's a shame you don't remember they're names yet. They are all endoresed by the gear they use and all are using they're signiture model guitars. Miyako just released her own series orange amp. They sound nothing like dragonforce, imo. Maybe the galloping drums, idk. No thanks on paying for nuts and bholes.

LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
SOLO: midori
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war
SOLO: miyako / midori / both
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven

Fly higher than the sun

IF you like Metallica, try the Lovebites song (and concert opener) " Thunder Vengeance" just a great song!! Or the new stuff like " Judgement Day"
or "Soldier stands solitarily" and "Dissonance"
I'm seeing this on May 27th, Midori's (Blond guitarists) birthday.
Miho Miho Miho!
New album , new bassist, new sound. Need to check what they just released
Wonderful reaction! Didn't understand anything in the tech part but Lovebites is just the best.
Would be nice to see you guys listen to some European metal in the form of Frozen Crown or Visions of Atlantis

These jrock/metal bands like band maid and lovebites along with the warning are stirring the rock pot I think rock has gotten stail but stirring it will bring it back to life🤟
One of the most musically talented metal bands on the planet. From a pure musicianship perspective, they are better than the classic 80's metal bands that have influenced them: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, (Early) Metallica, Testament, Slayer etc.
Do not forget X-japan

Not one bead of sweat visible on these ladies, even Haruna the drummer. How?!?!?
Great reaction. Besides Being a Superb Super Band with Professor level playing, writing and performance I learned from this video how I myself must bore my band members because I also constantly talk gear and get similar responses from my own band mates.....lol. Carry On.
when destiny alien in live, break the wall, shadowmaker all in live. Ty
Glade your back miss ya love the new format this kick ass in dresses and high heels killing it need more rock on
Influenced or not, they're definitely friendly with DragonForce. I saw a video where they were touring together, and Herman put on a gown, for an ending Jam session. Great job, and Rock on, guys! 🤘😎👍
Enjoyed the reaction! Technically, 6505....but essentially the same amp, different name.

A lot of you need to listen to the Japanese Rock/Metal bands of the 80's and 90's; such as X Japan, Show Ya, Luna Sea, Loudness, etc. They are better than many of the western bands of that era.
Welcome to the real MUSICIANS
🤘🏽LOVEBITES RULES🤘🏽
This song in particular reminds me SO MUCH of Angra (Temple of Shadows album era).
Angra is Midori’s favorite band.
Ahhhhh, 100% Angra, I hear that now!
If you listen their song "When destinies align", now THAT's a nod towards Dragon Force and the "positive vibes" power metal like master plan etc.
This song is more towards Judas Priests, Iron Maiden etc. maybe a bit Rhapsody... :)
"This is one of the most power metal thing I've ever heard!", yes it's up there for sure, but go and listen to some Luca Turilli/Rhapsody and their albums "Symphony of Enchanted Lands" or "Prophet of the Last Eclipse".
You know, guys, if we weren't interested in your comments and opinions we would watch the original video ;-)
Midori stage Right Guitarist, Miho bassist (no longer with the band), Miyako Stage Left Guitarist. Asami vocals. Haruna drums.
Amazing

They toured with Dragon Force in Europe.
The thing that impresses me most about Lovesbites is the fact that they (except for Haruna, the drummer) perform in heels.
Well...🐺L🐺O🐺V🐺E🐺❣
I'd live to see you guys do a deep dive reaction to Lorna Shore.
It's a shame you don't remember they're names yet. They are all endoresed by the gear they use and all are using they're signiture model guitars. Miyako just released her own series orange amp. They sound nothing like dragonforce, imo. Maybe the galloping drums, idk. No thanks on paying for nuts and bholes.
they toured with Dragonforce
Nemophila next!
Thanks
its not a china its an ice bell.

Miho , "Didly Do" Bass player didn't rely on editing. If you watch the video again she hit her octave doubling pedal ... just saying
Yeah, she can be seen stepping on a stomp box after one of those tapping segments.

Is one of you high? 😂
Us guitarist do like to hear the equipment and theory details. Sorry? Great stuff Anthony. Drummers and singers don't care usually?
As a 35-year drummer, and music nerd, I think I have a pretty good idea of what good music is. I can't stand this stuff. I respect the technicality of the players and I know that it's very difficult to play this kind of music well, but it all sounds the same to me.
Way to be full of yourself. lol
