Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Lalo despite all his intelligence and charm had no chances against plot continuity.
😂😂 he checked the IMDB and saw Gus was on there but not him
Gus was lucky, that's all
Literally his only weakness was being in a prequel
Gus’s arrival to the laundry was the same as his arrival to Casa Tranquila in the end of BB season 4: he came there without planning, in a rush and eventually was overpowered unexpectedly. Only in BCS he made it out alive. And also in both cases he was there without Mike, which is fascinating.
In BCS he only survived due to having planned for this exact moment by hiding the gun a very precise number of steps away from the light switch.
@@OsamaRana nah he only survived due to having impenetrable plot armor
@@StarDiSaF Well... yeah
Hector ?
It's the opposite, he planned for this moment with Lalo, he hid the gun away himself not knowing how exactly but having the strongest premonition that things would probably come to a head there, and that's why he's able to go there somewhat hastily, but always knowing he had insurance.
In BB, he was blinded by vengeance, there was no out for him. He was there to end things with Hector and move on.
Lalo is my favorite vloger and I really appreciate his cooperation with the chicken UA-camr. 💪🏼👨🏼🦳👍🏻
He's been on Breaking Kitchen too. Gotta check it out!

Most people are entirely oblivious to their surroundings, lost in a cellphone completely vulnerable.
@@cjthedevil5689 Yeah this happened in 2004 wiseguy. Nobody had a smartphone yet. Why people feel compelled to add in their bargain bin social commentary to everything I'll never know.
@@boxboxerson991 People back then were even more so oblivious, thinking they were in a safer time. I imagine based off your defensive reaction you’re one of those people, not to mention this is a comments section for that very purpose.
I counted about 8 or 9. Do you have sight problems or is your counting not up to much?
And the wannabe badass cocking his gun like a clown, don't get me started. 😂
It's almost unbelievable that Mike didn't see Lalo's bait. Fring, on the other way, realize that immediately.
I think mike may have been feeling guilty that he got played once and lalo showed up at their apartment. But yeah once he said "Salamanca's at your apartment" he should have immediately asked why he was there. And why he sent kim (some random lawyer to kill Gus)
There are two that outwit Mike in BB & BCS universe
Lalo salamanca and Walter White
I know it's almost stupid!
😅
An ex detective cop who was smarter than his jobs requirements getting fooled that easy!
Which is why bb had the better ending while bcs was better overall
This whole situation with Lalo and also the situation with Werner gives more insight into why and how gus and Mike dealt with Walt, they underestimated him thinking he would be another Werner, and after handling Lalo they felt untouchable, they didn't realise they were dealing with another Lalo, they saw the geeky look and glasses and saw Werner
Solid point!
You know Lalo was to be feared when even Gus was scared and afraid by him
A lot of people think that Lalo's demise was too mundane, but I actually liked that about it! Throughout the series, he's an almost unstoppable force, but in the end..., he's still a human with all the limits as everyone else!
Honestly I would go further. He was absolutely robbed here, he deserved to win this. I would argue he was so limitless that it took a coincidental precaution from Gus with a bit of luck to beat him
@JorisBohnson52 He did win by leaving the bell with Hector which it would be used to finally end Gus.
It’s so weird seeing you in a comment section when I watch most of your videos lol. But I definitely agree with your point!
@@DaScorpionSting His whole family ended up dead. And Gus wasn't exposed. He definitely lost.
@@DaScorpionSting I mean sure... but that doesn't really count. I mean it's not like he went, "Tio, Gus is going to kill me, you're gonna have to finish the job and detonate a bomb using this bell to kill the chicken man"
Lalo always had that smile whenever he had the upper hand
😃
Amazing how despite getting killed, Lalo got the last laugh. It’s like he was giving Gus a final cackle letting him know he got lucky.
And who would have known it would be a high school chemistry teacher to take Gus and Mike out! Lalo would have been shocked and amazed
@@leanmachine3251 It took a high school chemistry teacher to take out a restaurant owner and a policeman.
Lalo vs Gus was a war between two masterminds
This scene was so intense, The acting was next level as usual
Interesting fact: Lalo is the only Salamanca that Gus has killed directly
Lalo was the only one to come to him. He was extremely suspicious of Gus saving Hector from the beginning and intuited he had a plot going on. He was the only Salamanca who didn't complacently view Gus as a whipped dog and he very nearly got him, too.
@@bluegum6438hector and lalo were the only smart salamancas so they knew gus was up to something. The twins were incredibly dumb to accept gus proposal

Oh wait…
@@EliteXclutchX21 He literally did outsmart him though. Gus' original assassination attempt failed, But Lalo got the last remaining assassin to lie and call in job done, So Lalo could disappear and finish Gus.
Gus only won here by pure cheese luck. Lalo outplayed Gus, Killed all his men and had beaten Gus. But Gus got cheese luck and managed to still somehow kill him
How is gigachad embarrassing? @@duffman18
Lalo killed two of the body guards before the other guys even reacted. You would think Mike’s men would be more on the jump.
You will be surprised at how effective the element of surprise is
The moment we were waiting the entire season
Lalo out here with the multikill just to get folded by Sussy Gussy's plot armor
They made Lalo too OP an antagonist but that said he was always a Salamanca so his ego did for him in the end, he never thought Gus could've planned to lure him to the lab
*Never thought Gus could have anticipated an encounter in the lab and be willing to do the dirty work himself. Gus didn't really lure him down there.
@@epicfan1598 lured maybe the wrong word, he had a really strong guess Lalo already knew where the laundry was and Gus was forced to take him down to the lab.. that said Fring was always good at pretending to be weak to enemies when he still had an ace up his sleeve
Lalo had to prove that Gus is not with them.
Ya Lalo was just in a vulnerable and weak position and would have done better to hide and resurface somewhere else years later but his ego got the best of him.
Imagine Gus not being the only one wearing a bulletproof vest.
Wouldn’t have mattered even if Lalo was, cause Gus shot him in the throat.
If all 4 of those guys were wearing vests, Lalo would've died lol. He shot all of them in the body at first, they would've been hurt but not enough to squirm in pain@@jakandratchet9930

I like the cinematography detail at 2:56, this was the peak of Gus' stress because he knew Lalo was there, and the shot was done with the camera in hand without any stabilization to make it shaky, and it was shot at a higher framerate so it has this blurry fluid motion so that it all conveyed Gus' emotions nicely.
Such a good episode!
I would also be scared if I saw Lalo kill 4 well-trained bodyguards
I have never been in a gunfight, but it feels a bit weird to me that only one of 4 people whose job it is to be alert and ready got a shot off.
Those bodyguards have no instincts whatsoever lmao 🤣
One of my favorite scenes in the series
Gus's watchmen in the laundry: the origin of the NPC's...
I wish Lalo won hopefully we get a Lalo spin off one day
Lalo got careless because he thought too much that he had the upper hand, just like Gus with Hector they both didn't read on their opponents next move which got them kill well for Gus he never thought of it seeing that Hector was just a crippled after his whole family and the cartel were killed.
Obviously the meta reason is: Gus is Breaking Bad, Lalo is not. Gus had to win.
The most tense and exciting scene in the breaking bad universe
Imo the most intense scene in Breaking Bad universe was the one where Hank arrests Walt. Everything goes according to Hank's plan, then out of nowhere the Neo Nazis show up and gunfight starts, ending the episode in cliffhanger.
I don't know, but all the most intense scenes are from Better call Saul for me.... Even I never imagined this show to get this good when i watched initial seasons..... Season 5 and 6 of BCS are way more memorable and better than BB for me....
@@ryuk4142 I have the opposite opinion. Imo seasons 4 and 5 of Breaking Bad are BrBa/BCS Universe at their best.
And I enjoyed season 3 of BCS more than seasons 5 and 6. Jimmy's plot in season 6 was meh.
crazy how this episode came out today
*Lalo:* “Ha ha. It’s just a prank.” 🔫😃
This is the moment Gus
To think Gus was the only who unnerved Mike before BCS, but now we realize Lalo managed to keep both nervous and stressed for long time
Never noticed Lalo is a left handed shooter
I’m just gonna say it… this is my favorite scene in better call Saul
You shouldn't have said it
Two psychopaths meeting
47 seconds in and it feels like I’m watching a mission from a COD campaign unfold right onto my eyes. Bravo Vince 👏
Damn lalito have plenty of opportunity to kill gustavo here, yet he still got clipped. Gustavo’s survival here is just pure luck on his part. He lost in every step of the way.
I can’t figure this out - the inference is that Lalo had sequestered himself inside of that suspended laundry sack and slipped out whilst Gus’ crew were examining his (Lalo’s), point of entry at the ventilation fan?
I dont think he hid behind that sack, perhaps tied a string to make it move to distract the guards.
that smile
that damn smile
if u aint laughin, ur cryin
Legendary scene, iconic
I thought Mike was a just a former cop but he's like capt price in this bit.
It was hinted that he was a vietnam war vet
as a man who farts i can say this scene was full of suspense
If it was not for the plot of breaking bad, lalo would never lose to gus.
this is the moment that lalo confronted gus
bravo Peter!!
1:05 its 3am and you try to be metal gear solid with the squad
looks like mike needs a walker lol
Gus had this confrontation planned out ahead of time. He planted the gun. Sacrificed his own men knowing full well that Lalo would take the bait being unable to resist catching him in the laundromat.
I personally saw the planted gun as more of a contingency. Once Gus knew Lalo was trying to find proof of the Superlab before attacking, he planted it as a last resort to defend himself. His men would have been alive if Gus didn’t keep his observation that Lalo broke in to himself. Imo this is a major flaw that Gus has, as smart and ahead of the curve he often thinks, he tends to withhold most of his thoughts to himself, instead of sharing with the people that are supposed to protect him and his interests.
@@earwormz9334 "I personally saw the planted gun as more of a contingency."
He surely would have just shot Lalo if the chance arose, and was wearing body armor, so it's fair to say the trap (the hidden gun and the loose power cable) were contingencies in that sense. But they were still a trap he was setting, just not his one and only plan.
"Imo this is a major flaw that Gus has, as smart and ahead of the curve he often thinks, he tends to withhold most of his thoughts to himself"
I think this is an inevitable flaw. A person is like a key that fits into a lock. The lock, in his case, is being both a drug lord and a respectable professional running a legitimate business. The personality traits required to survive and succeed in that life include maintaining secrecy to a level that looks like OCD to the rest of us.
This is the exact moment Lalo shoots 4 of Gus' men. Bravo Vince !!
What is shocking is that Lalo let Saul live I mean his compound was raided the betrayal. Howard got it in seconds and Saul would of been no different. I think that was Jorge de guzman who let Saul live
It’s because Lalo wanted leverage on Kim, also because Lalo wanted to interrogate Saul
I'm surprised Mike didn't figure out this would be a diversion, and of course Lalo would be long gone.
Performing black operations was my favorite scenes in the better call Saul series
that batte of Lalo and Gus Fring was even better than Gus and Heisenberg's
Lalo can scared anyone when things start blowing out or stopping means Lalo is there 😂😂
those bodyguards dying was beneficial to gus if you think about it, with that reaction time they would have gotten someone important killed anyway in the far future
I'm guessing this is when Gus started hiring gunmen but he wanted to cheap out on it so he got ones on craigslist
When Trevor Philips and Gustavo Fring meet
what is gus noticing with the fan and the bag? That there isn't much wind despite the bag swaying a lot? Does that indicate Lalo moved it?
Maybe the idea that Lalo entered the room through the fan?
people believe lalo had gus against the wall (and he was) but gus put himself in this position on purpose to lure lalo and kill him in the underground lab
Lalo would not have been able to take out Gus' men had Gus just said a few words to his men knowing at that point Lalo was inside. They would have been ready.

A maior cagada foi o Lalo morrer pro tosco do Gus. O cara era foda, ficou um final insatisfatório.

Gus men’s positioning is terrible
Lalo was just better… he was better than pretty much all of Gus’s foot soldiers and definitely better than Michael
I didn't like this scene much, the guy on the left had plenty of time to react 2:57
this is
We always care about the main characters. Nobody cares about the 4 bodyguards who died
لالو الأفضل دائما
Gus was very cautios of Lalo, even more than Hector or Tuco. The reason being that only Lalo, unlike the rest of his family is just like Gus; Hides his monstrous identity behind a wall of well practiced emotions and characters. He uses charm, charisma and an outgoing personality that is very misleading for the average joe.
😎😎😎😎😎😎
lalo was better than gustavo, but the plot demanded his dead
Lalo is a bit underdressed for this occasion
Not his fault, he didn't get the "black tie" memo.
Ooh I’m a fresh 3 hours in
Gus's bodyguards sucked at their jobs.
This is the exact moment when
Lalo should have gone all guns blazed against gus with entire salamanca might
He could not. Gus was one of the biggest earners for Eladio, so if Lalo was going to kill him, he had to get solid evidence about Gus' side business. He could have done it earlier once Gus revealed the lab's location, but not at this moment, or he was risking Eladio's punishment.
He couldn't. He can't kill Gus without substantial proof that Gus was working against the Cartel. His plan pretty damn good anyway his mistake was underestimating Gus and not thinking that he could do the dirty work himself when he needed to
Always with the scenarios
Gotta say, this is probably the worst acted scene in the entire show.
Lalo casually strolls in with all but one guy looking his way and picks off all four of Gus's trained gunmen. Just watch the dude on the far left of Gus; he looks like he's barely reacting to the two gunshots that just went off.
I'm not saying that Lalo couldn't have killed these guys had they been faster or more reactive, but the fact that all four of the gunmen are just standing there like mannequins and not one of them is watching behind is just so dumb. Great show, but terrible scene.
Agree with you, writing lacked a bit, also gus not reacting but standing still instead of telling his guys to ready up
This is the moment Gus Fring became Gustavo Friiiiing
This is the moment Gus pooped his pants.
I offed a guy 4 weeks ago got away scot free im into dark arts
This is the part where I stopped watching a good shooter like Lalo got brought down by someone who doesn't like guns or isn't a good shot. Nice try.
What is this series??? Is it worth watching????😂😂😂
Its called "Better Call Saul". And yes its worth watching. Its pretty slow in first two seasons, but gets better and better later on.
