This channel reminds me (especially on days when Logic frustrates me) how much more powerful the songwriting tools in Logic are over Pro Tools. Used PT for 20 years, one year on Logic and already way more productive with song creation and arrangement --Jason ✌🏻&❤️
Yeah, you're totally right. I once started off with Pro Tools (because it was the "industry standard"). Thankfully, I switched to Logic within one or two years. It was the biggest breakthrough in the sonic quality of my music productions and a much easier / intuitive workflow. The price of Logic Pro is ridiculously low, compared to what you actually get. (Well, you're stuck on the Mac platform for life, but that's not a problem.)
@@heartshinemusic I agree! As for being stuck with a Mac I finnaly am OK with that because I get Logic updates and upgrades and some new plugins FREE now. I bought Logic Pro X when it was 199$, back in 2013 I think and I have never spent a dime on the program since. I have bought new Macs but frankly, if you are a PRO and use it to make a living, it is a pretty good deal. I have bought 2 Mac minis since 2012... That is a pretty good average.
It’s amazing how much of this is in standard Garage Band. I was an avid Cubase user until my computer died and I was forced to find an alternative. Messing around with my iPad, I found Garage band. To my surprise , it turned out to be extremely versatile for quick ideas. Then I went deeper into its functions and really loved using Garage band, but it has its limitations. Then I discovered Logic and saw how it utilized the great functionality of Garage band but with limitless other options, like third party sounds, etc. And with your help, I’m discovering what a beast Logic truly is! Thank you so much for helping me personally, to navigate this powerful tool!!
wow man the grouping track alternatives thing is so simple and my ignorance of it the reason for years of 45 minute sessions of me just copy and pasting the whole song to a different range of measures and having a total mess at all times. gamechanger thank you. i really really appreciate how concise these videos are too. thank you for not showing us minutes of you brewing coffee.
This is gonna save me a LOT of time. Thank you! I swear, if not for your channel, I would have prolly never found out about some of these GREAT features. Apple should pay you a retainer. Unless, they already do. If so, ask for more $, cause this sight is a gold mine of info.
Thanks for your great tutorials. I watched your videos a lot more when I was just beginning Logic Pro x.. I put this on remembering how good of a teacher you are and needing something to watch while I ate lunch. And I learned something today!
Using the Live Loops area as a scratchpad for new musical ideas is brilliant, thanks Chris! Just like many other comments below, thank for the toolbar reminder! Can come in super handy instead of remembering all of the key commands.
Wow Chris - that tip of using the group feature to enable Track Alternative was ingenious!! I've used live loops before and found that it just overwhelmed my project if I wasn't mindful. So, I've put it on the backburner in regards of tools. Additionally, I've never saw the practicality of track alternative until seeing this video. I would add one tweak to your elegant tip - and that would be save this as a new alternative project. So I can keep my settings, but start anew w the remixed version of my track. Anyways, I've appreciated your vids for some time. And wanted to share with you how awesome your channel is!
Every time I start one of your videos I think “dang this guys audio is on *point* !” And then I realize that of course you do because it’s a Logic channel 😂
Soooo good! I use the Arrangement and Marker bars extensively. Modifying the structure can be a challenge so the tips in the toolbar were quite helpful. Loved the Live Loops section of the video. Always GREAT stuff. Thank you!
Brother I really appreciate your channel. I’m a big fan of your work! I’ve tried other DAW’s like Reason and Studio Uno, and keep coming back to LPX due to your tutorials. I’m not hating on the other DAW’s but LPX is the real deal and keeps getting better!
Wow, thanks for this! I'm new to this version of Logic and didn't know about the Arrange markers. And, I had been wondering how to get a clean slate when going between the Live loops and tracks!
I'm an amateur/hobbyist level user of Logic Pro and, while all of this info is in the manual, these videos are freakin' priceless! You do a great job of summarizing and demonstrating these features. Thank you!
Wow these are really useful tools. You’re pretty much my Logic manual now. I wish you had a table of contents that links to each new thing you show us lol!
I loved it! But the last was a little bit over my head but I really would like to learn all of the variations in workflow in the new logic! Thank’s a lot!! 🎶🎹🙏
Super !! thank you. I have been using Logic since version 4, and I have never used track alternatives or live loops. Very Interesting! Can you do a little more in depth on creating electronic style music (because of all of the layers and repetition) using Live Loops? This looks very interesting.
Goodmorning Chris, love your youtube channel. I now working with the arrangement for the drums. but there is someting happening what i can't solve. first I add the intro and then a verse. Bur when i want to add a 1 one bar break. I cant move the verse. It stays sticked to the intro. can you help me with this problem.
I love this channel and yet I still am mystified by the live loops grid. I record guitar and vocals DI and still have no idea if I can use that grid as a creative tool.
How do your organize your project while it's still playing. So when you copy a part to another it copy's where your mouse is, and not where your play marker is?

This blew my mind, especially when you command clicked the cycle selector to omit that section 🤯 game changer
wow man the grouping track alternatives thing is so simple and my ignorance of it the reason for years of 45 minute sessions of me just copy and pasting the whole song to a different range of measures and having a total mess at all times. gamechanger thank you. i really really appreciate how concise these videos are too. thank you for not showing us minutes of you brewing coffee.
I’ve been using logic for years, stuck in my ways. Your vids have really helped me improve my workflow and experiment more! Thank you!
Oh! That tools bar tip...how have I never come across that before. Skip cycle...so useful if you want to hear how a song will work with piece removed!
This is gonna save me a LOT of time. Thank you!

You’re always way ahead of the pack. Blows my mind. Thank you.
Thanks a lot! Never thought about using the live loops in that way. Great tip!
Well, that's certainly revolutionised our thoughts on how to develop and keep tabs on different ideas and alternatives. Excellent as always!
I love using this process. I do a lot of remote sessions. I can learn a song faster and follow and knock out tracks quickly
I’m just getting into Live Loops. It has such potential. Thanks. 🙏
Using the Live Loops area as a scratchpad for new musical ideas is brilliant, thanks Chris! Just like many other comments below, thank for the toolbar reminder! Can come in super handy instead of remembering all of the key commands.

Somebody should make another channel called why "why logic pro rules" rules as a fan page... Great tips !
Why Why Logic Pro Rules Rules
I'm an amateur/hobbyist level user of Logic Pro and, while all of this info is in the manual, these videos are freakin' priceless! You do a great job of summarizing and demonstrating these features. Thank you!
Wow, thanks so much for suggesting group track alternatives!
Wow these are really useful tools. You’re pretty much my Logic manual now. I wish you had a table of contents that links to each new thing you show us lol!

Another great one, thanks!
Like always!!! Sooo helpful!
Great work as always Chris and so grateful! I don't think Logic has me sold on live loops yet... perhaps one day it will click haha
Awesome video. The markers tip made me feel pretty dumb. I didn't realize that you could rearrange your song with them. Thank you
Great Stuff! Thanks for this!
Great stuff man and thanks. Will certainly explore these.
I always forget about the toolbar too! 🤣Thanks for another great video. Keep up the good work!
This is amazing! Thank you!
Outstanding tutorial!
Thank You, Chris!!!
LOVE this! Is there a way to submit specific questions to you? You could be like the Greg Ondo of Logic! Thanks so much!
I loved it! But the last was a little bit over my head but I really would like to learn all of the variations in workflow in the new logic! Thank’s a lot!! 🎶🎹🙏
@11:13 yes sir! this I didn't know. Thank you Chris!
You are GOLD my friend! Many thanks.... :)
Super !! thank you. I have been using Logic since version 4, and I have never used track alternatives or live loops. Very Interesting! Can you do a little more in depth on creating electronic style music (because of all of the layers and repetition) using Live Loops? This looks very interesting.
Informative video thanks !
Thank you. So helpful!
Cool. I always leave the toolbar hidden. Would be smart to learn the key command to toggle on/off for quick access. Thanks Chris!
Great tips as always Chris. Thanks 🙏
I love you guys! :D
Thanks. I hope you’re well compensated for your efforts.
Thank You!!!Great video!!!
Nice! So many gems here!

Next drink is on me :) I've been missing that skip feature since I dont know when ?
I love this channel and yet I still am mystified by the live loops grid. I record guitar and vocals DI and still have no idea if I can use that grid as a creative tool.
You and me both brother, im a rock guitarist / bassist and the live loops are on the back burner for me..Peace.
How to handle Midi notes that start a little before the Region that are included in the arrangement markers? Is there a trick for that?
Subbed man what a video 😘
Cool tricks 👍🏻
How come your arrangement markers are colored but mine are just grey? Great video btw. Thank you for making my studio life better and easier.
How do your organize your project while it's still playing. So when you copy a part to another it copy's where your mouse is, and not where your play marker is?
When these tools move the midi, do they also move any automation associated with those areas of midi?
Thanks 👌
super helpful
fantastic thanks
Is it possible to adjust plugins on the fly or not ?
What version off logic are you using
Wow, track alternative part was really helpful!
Using Big Sur?
Track Alternatives!!!!
Ty
I’m totally lost about the last section, creating a new group and a new track alternative. It could have been explained better.
Gold
The speed of your mouse movements is quite hard to keep up with, by the time I/we catch up to where the mouse is, its already gone...just sayin like!
Most of that was f* ing confusing
Great video, terrible spelling!😉
Very awesome hints man! Thanks
Great video, thank you!
