As soon as I saw those bent pushrods, I thought “They only get THAT bent when something hits the valves”. There aren’t a lot of things that can hit the valves…. Yikes! That is one BLOWN UP motor!
The previous owner sure felt it when he wrecked that car! I'm surprised you guys pulled out as much money as you did. A grenaded motor, crash, and fire? That's one bad day.
"There's malace in the combustion palace!" - Eric from "I Do Cars" I think a rod broke setting off a catastrophic domino effect with a piece of metal that went in the timing chain, throwing off timing and destroying the valves too. P.S: "I'm sure it happened at low RPMs at idle" - Eric from "I Do Cars"
I also subscribe to the I Do Cars channel. After they showed the holes in the side of the block, I wondered if Eric was going to appear (as if this would have become a collaborative video). Eric comments often about not having very many details about the specific vehicles the engines he tears down came from.
Wow, I've seen you take on some stuff but this one might be even a challenge for you. That is a beautiful dog. I wish I had enough money, love, and room for all the dogs.
LS1 stock bottom end with that exact same ECS (Paxton) SC, 60lb injectors, fuel pump booster, catback and a 3.4 pulley = 500HP and 510FT Lbs and that's on a 02/A4 C5. You can push it up to 750 easily-

No one will forget this YELLOW Vette. You have put it in the spotlight for sure. I wonder what all the explosion sounded like. Beautiful dog, mans best friend for sure, including you Lee!
i love that your homie who clearly strays away from the camera intentionally still couldn't help defending his build with the centrical blower when you started doggin on him for laughs
This engine was toasty like i have never seen! Already when the drainplug went out alarmbells went of with a littlebit of oil comming out. Now we know why.
My guess was as soon as one of the pistons let go, everything met such high resistance that it jumped time causing even more collisions smashing everything to bits. Not very knowledgeable on ls motors though, so probably way off. Gotta love someone who had that much misplaced faith that a stock block would hold up to that much abuse.
I'm betting the timing chain dampner failed and broke the chain. That style damper is a no go when upping the power on LS. Why everyone switches to the ls2 block dampener
Dang at this point in time the wiring harnesses in all them cars that you gave to the scrap yard for free would have came in handy for selling it for copper scrap but what do I know 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Harbor freight has a hydraulic jack table for like a thousand pounds lifting capability for like a couple hundred bucks. Instead of laying on your back you could have it at waist height. The table has a hydraulic top so you can lift it up underneath the car so you can basically stand under there and get that done as opposed to laying on your back But you do have a welder so I'm sure you can figure out how to weld two of them together 😂 I'll give it a much wider platform so you can make sure nothing falls off
I guess they don't come with rev limiters yikes what engine damage! Talk about grenading!! That was very exciting when it blew. Shitty oil oci too what an idiot. Great video!!
I am willing to bet!!! This motor had stock ring gap!!! Everyone that says ls motors can’t hold power… it’s because of ring gap!! When boosted, the heat created causes rings to expand past the “stock ring gap” and causes the piston to get stuck in the cylinder and… BOOM! If this person would have took the motor apart and made the ring gap larger, it would have handled 1000hp!! All day! Can’t win them all!!
My guess is the guys right shoe is still melted to the gas pedal and that's what caused the motor to explode causing the fire and accident . Lol 😮 That car was on fire before it stopped. Wow
The type of blower isn't enough information to determine how much power it's going to make. How much power it's going to make depends on the tuning, and the type of engine that it's attached to, then the type of exhaust and intake that are on that engine, type of feul and size of injectors, and a bunch of other factors. What you should be asking is how many pounds per square inch pressure we can expect for that blower to be able to produce (depending on what your blow off valve weight is set to). So again, yeah, not really enough information to tell you how much power you're going to make, but drawing from personal experience I CAN tell you that you should be able to get pretty much any decent V8 engine producing between 500 and 600 horsepower reliably, before any real issues start cropping up, then around 700 (depending on displacement, etc) while constantly running the chance of blowing something apart. If you decide to choose a tuning more than 600, make sure that your engine has all of the strongest internals that you can possibly find, because after 600, 650, at higher rpm's, that blower is going to want to blow that engine apart, regardless of any of the engine details, or how it was built out.
I've bought vehicles completely burnt, but I paid like 500 out the door for them not 6k lol... been some of the best money makers for me. I'd say this was the drivers fault... someone was not being easy on it lol
Blown up engine, most insurance companies won't cover it, even with full coverage. Fire damage causing a "total loss" and full coverage, most insurance companies pay out. Even if the adjuster were to see the hole in the engine block, which they probably would not because they are there to inspect fire damage, they would still cover the car and pay the policy holder.
hey scraplife team i was just curious. I live in the Detroit area and was wondering if car salvaging is a consistent profit, or is it like stocks where you gain and loose money. my friend and i have been wanting to do this for a while and have been considering it. If we decide to do it., do you have any tips and tricks that yall can give us to get a good start on all of this? BTW... If you respond thank you so much.

How's the Manual Demon coming along?
How long have you been Salvaging car parts I'm wanting to start and interested if it's even worth my time
"How many burnt cars will you buy?"
Him: "Yes."
Yes
😂😂😂😂😂
,,How torn up is your Corvette engine,,
Him: To the core
Definitely should have been part of the Smoked series.
Wow I have seen a few engines that were really and truly blown up! However this Corvette engine is at the top of the heap for blown up! Impressive!
Paxton 1500SL can support upto 900 hp
When I had my 1500sl it made 830 whp on stock unported ls3 heads and did a 4.2 60-130 and 3.7 100-150
As soon as I saw those bent pushrods, I thought “They only get THAT bent when something hits the valves”. There aren’t a lot of things that can hit the valves…. Yikes! That is one BLOWN UP motor!

The 1500SL and V2/V3 TI on the 240 are the same exact blowers. Vortech makes them for Paxton
They max out at about 850whp on a LS motah.
just found this channel and i have to say i love the way this guy things, need more people like this in the world.

Still waiting on yall to part out a jet stream blue c6 🤣🤣 I want the widebody. If yall ever get one in, just sell me the full kit lol
Really enjoyed seeing the carnage on this one!
Great videos. Enjoy going into the auto salvage archeology with you!
Someone call the marketing department for alpine because this here is a great testament to the quality 😅
USE THIS AS THE "I'VE BLOWN SOMETHING UP WORSE" STORY THREAD...
Slg.... that was a great video and very informative about the way the engine died , I really enjoyed it and keep up with the great content.....

Normal price for working front grandsport brakes are minimum 800
No one will forget this YELLOW Vette. You have put it in the spotlight for sure. I wonder what all the explosion sounded like. Beautiful dog, mans best friend for sure, including you Lee!
Gamble more time on more videos! I need more content from you guys. Love all the stuff you guys do.
I think the timing chain breaking started the whole thing. That's the reason so many valves are bent.
09:43 "that is way straigher than i thought it would be"
I agree, straight is surprising on this channel.
Daaaaang bro, I went to buy them calipers but they're posted for double what you said in the video. Lol
You gotta love them LS,'S Lee
Cant wait to watch this! love your videos.
Yup, that's what a "free" engine looks like
This is the “ it’s not that bad “ C6 🤣🤣🤣
Ok this one was actually that bad
Looks fantastic. Nice job
That motah was definitely over revved which floated the valves which kissed (hammered) the piston(s)
Great breakdown video💪
Think the driver said all the bald eagle & send it to heck , praise Dale
i love that your homie who clearly strays away from the camera intentionally still couldn't help defending his build with the centrical blower when you started doggin on him for laughs
It’s his brother they are business partners they always give eachother shit it’s kinda funny.
my 2v Mustang Bullitt did 410whp with that blower and a 3.33 pulley, that ls3 must have been pushing its limits and made serious power
Wrist pin always survives
IKR, why not make the entire engine out of wrist pin material!
I think with a little JB Weld you could fix that block.
I'm a new follower Fernando and You are hilarious.
any update on the demon?
It's done, running, driving and dyno'd. Video will be out next week 😈
@@LeeCthis just made my night 😈 can't wait 🔥🔥🔥
@@LeeC just made my wednesday better, cant wait to hear that hemi😏😏
The salvage life you wind some and you lose some and a lot of time but that’s how it goes
Another great vid Lee
Your dodge demon is sick! good job Lee!❤❤❤
The highs and lows in this video. Epic😂
That is some carnage!
Time to start selling paperweights and desk ordiments
This engine was toasty like i have never seen! Already when the drainplug went out alarmbells went of with a littlebit of oil comming out. Now we know why.
Did Tim just try to give you Tree Fiddy.....Hes that got damn Loch Ness Monster....

I think they Paxton is rated like 900-1000 depending on mods
Another great video man! 🛠

27:12 is a massive 🗣️ to live by
Mabie a block inspection and siezed crank spin would have determined purchase or no purchase
In an ideal world, absolutely, but when you're buying cars from all over the country, you only get to personally inspect a handful!
Lookin at max 1100hp with that setup blower max, but I doubt that car was near that with what parts I saw
Another episode of smoked finally
Hey is that,,,SMOKED tint on that glass??😂😂😂😂 lmfao!!! Jeez
Hope the driver made it out I hope the motor good.
Prolonged burnout on high rmp blew the engine and the car caught fire in my opinion
are we gunna get an update on the demon?
That’s impressive
You guys make me wish I had friends.
i will take you on that fernando deal
Cute pup
I mean it was worth buying just to see what the motor looked like 😂 Jesus man. I think you can fix it. 😂😂😂

green stuff under the manifold looks like DECON rodent killer
I can only imagine the previous owner sobbing as he watches his car being dismantled lol.
He was floating valves, either with RPM or boost pressure, or both
Did we work out what that green oxide was?
This guy build woke up and built a grenade 😂😂😂
I guess they don't come with rev limiters yikes what engine damage! Talk about grenading!! That was very exciting when it blew. Shitty oil oci too what an idiot. Great video!!
That poor C6😢
Timing chain is the culprit
Damn, that engine damage is impressive.
Oh that thing spends perfect that's totally rebuildable.. as a new engine block after it gets melted down and recycled.😂
Demon doesn't have a Roots, it has a Whipple.

$60 for that blow off valve to deliver it to Washington! I believe in yall!
My guess is the guys right shoe is still melted to the gas pedal and that's what caused the motor to explode causing the fire and accident . Lol 😮 That car was on fire before it stopped. Wow
not bad minus the blaze

A 3.25 pulley makes around 10 psi,
3:00 You apologizing makes me feel dumb for liking it 😂 Can't wait to see what that inner fender sells for. 15:56 Welp I guess that answers that 😂
I would love to see that 12,000 rpm he hit!
Lee. How much would you want for the main caps out of that destroyed engine
That was one HOT car
Lol - The pushrods 😂
I've bought vehicles completely burnt, but I paid like 500 out the door for them not 6k lol... been some of the best money makers for me. I'd say this was the drivers fault... someone was not being easy on it lol

$6k for that wreck?! I’m shocked that went for more then $1-2k
Buuuuuuuurned HAHAHAHAAAHHA. ANOTHER GREAT UPLOAD GENTLEMEN!!!
This is what happens when you don’t gap the rings for boost !!!!😂
ScrapLife Garage puts a new meaning to having an "Afternoon Roast!" This one was well done until the pieces were falling off of the bones of the car.
i m not sure if that is the z7 but corvette z7 engine head price about $2,000
You sure the "new" guy off the street isn't really the loch Ness monster?
Make a glass table out of the block
