Thanks again to everyone that watches the videos and supports the channel 👍
Also this is the website for truck parts. truckmasterdiesel.com
Awesome channel with great content 💪👍
i tried traction bars before. my truck is not a street truck like yours is . off road tears them up and will get you high centered.
centered
I like the idea and I like how it keeps the a** from twisting I just can't get over the ground clearance One big rock and their bent.
Traction bars absolutely gorgeous, I love the blue it really pops with the black
Thanks
EVERYONE! I think a better option to look into is the RoadMaster helper springs. (I am not sponsored by nor do I work for them) I have the HD version on my 2011 LML. My truck is putting down over 1070wrhp and 1600lbft of torque. I have a video of my truck doing this on a mustang dyno. Under full load the axle did not wrap up on itself whatsoever and my rear end feels like I have a sway bar on the back around high speed corners. Before I installed the RoadMaster helper springs the truck felt floaty around corners and I also sheared off one of the mounting line up bolt for the leaf springs on one side. Haven’t had anymore issues since they’ve been installed and also no loss of ground clearance!
I say put retractable steps on the l5p, Im going to start saving for traction bars for my lly I’m tuned and hall a boat during the summer months. Btw did head gasket on that truck last year and followed your video, thanks to you I save thousands!!
I'm new here to this channel . I liked so much .
I have the same 2018 Denali, took the steps off for a while and hated seeing the def tank hanging down, so put the steps back on. Looking for aftermarket steps now. Thanks for all the videos. From one Michigander to another !!
Great point
I don’t know why, but pulling the tree down with the Denali reminds of Clark Griswald on Christmas Vacation 😂
When my truck was still compliant, adding the turbo horn definitely added a little more sound.
I know the dpf systems are annoying for truck builds but I am actually so glad you have an emissions compliment truck because I am trying to buy my first diesel and your being extremely helpful in the process by educating me on all diesels thanks for your service and the content
Just delete it when the truck’s warranty expires
Hello Josh and Melanie. Putting traction bars on your truck is always the best thing to do.
Love the color and definitely need the traction bars now for sure
You guys are such an awesome team!
Thanks 🙏
Josh put retractable on all your trucks. I have them on my 2021 and 06 duramax. It looks cool like a young man’s truck when up and hidden then drops down and helpful when you get old and wore out like me. You’ll love them.
I used to have amp steps and I loved them.
That’s why I use the Roadmaster Active Suspension setup.
Looks great! Need to have a dyno day with all your trucks!
Yes 👍
Put the retractable steeps on the black truck....keep it basically stock as a daily driver family vehicle....when you plan going to a show or pulling with the Wifemax? The 40 cal valve stem caps are awesome !!!
Very nice looking bars Josh 👍🏻
Look at wicked customs leveling kit. They include drop brackets, and a few other goodies for $1300 or more depending what you select. I have it on my 19 L5P and angles are great, ride quality is still amazing!
I've seen trucks with traction bars at sled pulls and under extreme torque the rear end will still wrap up and bend traction bars especially long traction bars vs ladder bars but as always you have awesome trucks💪🏿💪🏿👍🏿👍🏿
IMO if your doing good deal of off road trailer hauling, having the traction bars can be a real game changer. its not as big of deal on the flatter loose tracks and trails. But once you hit something where your crawling and articulating. It seems to help provide a more consistent contact patch, and lessen the chance for wheel hop (which can absolutely destroy your transfer case and trans, if you send it).
Very good point
Exactly why I’m on the fence about rin
Can't wait to build my powerstroke definitely u gave me motivation to build a truck
Good luck with everything!
I like the color, they work great!
Boy that tree snapping pulling action to start the vid was awesome
Thanks 🙏
Really want traction bars but NE LP (Alpena) hunting property would tear them to hell. Plus, Im cheap and don't want to drop a grand on them. I'm well aware they work, just can't justify them.
Looking good... just a little side note... long long time ago... yes many moons ago and we had hot rod cars and trucks and GAS was under .40 cents a gallon.... We used "traction bars" under leaf spring cars... piece of square tube bolted up the same under the spring pac not longer than the spring and a rubber bump stop on top... to "slap " the spring under load / power. Coil spring cars we built "ladder bars". Exactly like the HSP but square tube like a long triangle and "ladder like rungs" down the length... hence "ladder bars"... and heim...Johnny... joints and same bracket under spring pac. Easy to build and install 👌... As for nerf bars... sell them on .... and install a nice set of retractable steps. With auto lights when they deploy... much cleaner look and function. As always looking forward to seeing what's next. 😎 👍
Thanks for the insight! That’s awesome info
Old school ones. Love those on period correct build. Nice wide tires slap bars hanging down on a older mustang look really good to me anyways.
@@ronniewilliz153 They looked even better on my old 67 Camero lol... those were the days... 😎👍
Great video man!
Thanks
I was looking at various mfgs of traction bars, and went to UA-cam and boom 💥. Look what your post is about. LMM to me is the best looking truck you have in your fleet, and should run like a bat out of Hell-o...
Deff need them if you did a lift block
AMP steps for sure for the 2019.i like that blue with that black
Love the color.
Love the bar looks like it really helps but gotta ask can you post a how to for goose neck I just bought a f250 with a BW like you have my old f150 was rusting away so had to get what I could it's not new but with the chip problems I had to get it plus everything is like my f150 but bigger thanks
nice video, would stop that rear end hop I and so many other get at certain speeds? Mine is at 45 on the dot. My case I have had the d rive train checked and the joints along with road force balanced tires. Seems to be Frame harmonics from what I am told. My truck is stock with the offroad package.
the aftermarket intake horn did make a small difference in power and egt's. I did install with hot/cold side intercooler pipes. The traction bars will be a thing in the next few months!
Great info thanks
Color looks great. Have you towed the 5th wheel with them yet? Curious how you feel about the stability in a heavy load situation.
As far as wheels, powder coat the stock’s black and add some Nitto NT420 in a 305 55’s. That would be fire!!
I like the videos within the traction bars I like the idea on I … I was wondering what’s your thoughts on the roadmaster active suspension?
Sweet vid the blue looks good
Thanks 🙏
I say yes to remove the steps on the Denali but put the retractable steps on the lmm. Also do you have to adjust the hsp traction bars when the truck is off the ground or sitting on the ground?
You need to attach a small diameter wire cable to the front of each bar then attach the other end to the truck frame. Just in case. I’ve ran traction bars for over 20 years on my trucks, I’ve never broken a front mount but I have broke rears. Ya break a front without a way to keep it out of the pavement you’ll soon be trying out for the summer Olympics involuntarily.
Traction bars look awesome. I just fabricated my own bars. They don’t look as nice as hsp but I think they hold up just as good. I welded my brackets to the frame. Like your wc fab on lbz.
If you can make your own that’s mad props to you sir
Huge fan brother. Especially with my victory red lmm. Keep up the great content man.
@@hernandezvlog1939 thanks Hernandez
Man idk on the steps
I like the pipe steel style myself but the Denali’s look nice with the foldable steps
Josh I would put the AMP'S on the 18, and put the factories on the LMM.
Question: adjustments on the nuts 🤔? How and what adjustments are required?
Midsouthled headlights and taillights would look amazing on your l5p but they are very expensive
Looks good but man all I can think about is how much mud and snow will get caked in and around those bars.
The retractable steps work good in TX FL CA ...not in inclimate weather states with heavy salt content. Mine were good till the second snow then the issues of salt came... hinges connectors rusted rivits on the hinges no amount of wd-40 helped.. it sucked
Love pulling the tree down with the truck when you have a tractor intro!!! Afraid those torsion rods will get destroyed the first time I went to my hunting places in my 07' duramax. Great? for city trucks I bet. But not a truck that's being used for what it's built for.
Put the retractable side steps on you need all the clearance you can get with those traction bars
Retractable sounds good 👌
You should do a 5" DPF back exhaust they do sound alot better still fully legal
Have you seen the fass pump vs air dog pump? If not I recommend you watch it and tell me what you think
Putting traction bars on your truck is always the best thing to do. I say put retractable steps on
If you could do a build list on what’s on the Wifemax too please!
So a few thing I’m wondering about this, is this hard on the frame or rearend when the suspension moves up and down? I noticed you mounted yours with it on the lift and the suspension fully decompressed. Maybe that doesn’t matter but it seems like it may push the axle back if you load the suspension.
Second thought. Is there a reason these bars can’t be mounted above the axle rather than under so there isn’t any clearance issues?
Also if you pull those steps from the Denali, I'd be interested in buying them along with the wheels.
Pull the bed on the LLM and build a custom flatbed.
Without them it's a bunch of stress on the u joints an shackles. We didn't have any on our mud jeep an then shackles where twisted every way till Sunday lol. Not to mention when you turn that axel will move too an 2 link 3 4 link is all better then not having any. 4 link is best for hard core imo. Street app is to stop axle hop an torque steer an some others I'm sure I'm missing. Off road is a huge difference tho. Great vid as always. Got a ? Also do you look back on the filter incident and laugh, I sure do lol. Her truck is really coming together. 👍👊. (Edit). Do you prefer the soft silicone tubing an coupling ?
Gotta go with the retractable bars then it’ll set off the look of class
Those thing take away a lot of ground clearance. I recon this is only a thing for trucks that will always be on the road for the most part.
I think you need a BDS 4.5 inch lift to compliment those traction bars.
Traction bars are very simple to fabricate and way cheaper.
Question for you, i’m in the market for traction bars for my 18 Duramax and I can’t decide if I should go you WCF or HSP. I see you that you used both from your videos. Let know which route I should go. Thanks!
I don’t know anything about traction bars so please help educate me. Why are they needed? Do they make them for the front? How do they function different from sway bars? Can they be mounted so that they are above instead of below?
I have watched your videos and I would like to know what I can do to my IIY Duramax. I will be used for towing and daily driver. I have a pvc reroute and S and B turbo inlet. PPE relief valve and ported fuel. Sinister cat fuel filter. Getting ready to do a Boost leak test. Probably go HSP Products when I can afford it. And a Ryan's Turbo. Thanks for any advice. By Truck is two wheel drive.
I have a 2017 GMC 3500 dually truck and want a set of pocket style fender flares but nobody makes them for the 2915-19 Chevy/GMC dually trucks and I was thinking with all the things you are doing maybe you could help with this I know the flares will need to be trimmed or custom made.
Put some power amp step bars on the Denali.
I like original. Family truck . Looks good 👍 save her for later upgrades and mod changes
I just want those factory five star rims you had on the red truck
Love that blue on those trac bars man I need them for my truck would look sick mines white ccsb!
Thanks man
@@TruckMaster no problem man I just ordered efi live Kory Willis PPEI dsp5 tunes I can’t wait till they arrive! Now gotta save for that air dog 165!
Your cam angle should be aimed at the pinion. It would show the flex the most.
As for drill bits always get the cobalt ones. They are brittle but cut very well. Dont matter the brand, just the metal.
Norsemans are really good. I get them through work at fasten all. I’m a commercial sheetmetal/millwright and they hold up pretty well.
@@jordankurkowski7001 Norseman is a brand. What line. Carbon steel, TiDioxide, Cobalt, you know.
Kind of hard to find a wife that works in the garage with you!!!
More like nearly impossible, she’s a keeper 👍
Melanie, Best Stay Tuned outro always 👍
👍👍👍
A view of the pinion shows much more visible axle wrap.
That's the color I went with
Keep the step bars. Rock chip savers
Put on some Amp Research retractable steps it will definitely clean up the look of your L5P; those stock step bars don't last long at all & imo they take away from the look of your truck.
I need traction bars on my 06 lbz real bad. She has 260k on her and with the typical AAM differential problems along with the axle wrap my rear end is done for. I took a camera and zipped tied it to the leaf spring and my pinion was rolling 4-6 inches upward. Pinion bearing is wiped out.
Yikes
He had to get his wife to torque those rear bolts. That’s why it was off camera. 😂🤣 just kidding. Earl could have done it. Retractable steps on denali really clean up those trucks. The stock steps work well but they look like snow skids.
You caught me 😂
Have you noticed a difference in miles per gallon since you installed the pulsar
What oil are you using for your 18 denali??
Hahah 😅 her comment of "the way u drive " awesome 👌
If you wanna keep ride quality just keep the stock wheels and put 35 inch mud tires on them go with the bubba style look
I think you should keep the side steps on until you decide to slap some custom wheels on it.
My driveshaft came out of the t-case while braking really hard. Luckily we didnt roll :)
Also you should remove the steps from the Denali and put the retractable steps on the lmm
Thanks
What kind of tires you got on the white truck
Aren't you supposed to set those bars while the truck is sitting on it's wheels? I see that you used the german torque spec-gootentight.
I find it interesting how many people complain about the coolant gumming up the coolant passages. Dad's was clean as a whistle when I did his LB7. But the injector sleave seats in the head were trashed with erosion.
Leave the chrome steps on. Powerfolds and Northern road salt/chemicals do not mix.
Blue looks nice on the truck
Thanks
Can traction bars be installed without a lift or can the traction bars be installed with truck sitting on ground?
Why did you ditch the Roadmaster Active Suspension?
What length did you go with and why did you choose that length?
What color is that on the wife max? Candy purple?
On the drill bid’s you need Milwaukee cobalt drill bids their designed for metal even dewalt Has it cobalt drill bids
Hey brother love the videos. I have a question. Just bought my first diesel. A 2014 duramax. I've heard you go over the problems with the lml. Truck has 115,000 miles I don't know what has been fixed. What do I need to looks for and get a head of any problems
1) add a lift pump if it doesn’t have one.
How do they impact ride quality?
The exact video I needed at the right time are traction bars worth... let see what the video says
Great video man🤙🏻 honestly been debating wether or not to get a traction bar setup for my truck. I always take your advice you know best 🤣
It’s really a good option thanks Chris
Did you notice any ride quality difference once the traction bars were installed? I’ve read it can sacrifice some of your ride quality.
Traction bars remove part of the flex from the front half of the spring and they ride like sh!t. Useless for anything but pulling sleds on dirt tracks
