These bars also dramatically reduce your ground clearance. Keep that in mind if you use your truck off road, these would high center a truck quickly. Great Video!
Respect Josh as drilling through the frame is a PITA!!!! Thanks for the content man. You are the OG on Duramax content. I’ll speak for a lot of us by saying thanks for all the info, help, and tutorials.
Have you ever looked at the Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS) kits? Easy and fast to install, give the same benefits as traction bars, sway bars, and air bags. They won't let your truck squat under a load but do not cause a stiffer ride. I've only heard and seen good things about them and I'm definitely going to buy the kit and install it.
I got some ordered from WCFab today, cherry red powder coat, I have a blue 2018 GMC 2500HD Duramax. For those saying ground clearance might be an issue, IMO they're easy to take off if you're going to take the truck extreme off-roading 👍🏻
I’ve been running the cheapest traction bars I could find that fit my 15 Silverado Duramax and they have run flawlessly for over four years now. I could notice a reduction in lag time even just at stoplights since the axle isn’t wrapping up before applying the power to the ground and it did feel more secure in the rear. My truck is stock height and is now running a 2 inch drop shackle in the rear.
I don't understand why these trucks don't come with that as part of the suspension from the factory. Just watching the real time video think about all the twisting your saving your drive shaft u-joints and everything else from twisting and keeping everything aligned as it should be! Thanks for the video I'm definitely getting these now.
My cheap fix for minimal axel wrap was putting leaf spring shackles i believe 2 inches from the leaf spring mounts towards the front of springs and tighten them down so it pinched the spring tight together and it worked well it was a heck of allot cheaper for those diesel heads with a light pocket id go this way
Is backing out the helm joints 7 turns just a rule of thumb you use or the standard? My HSP instruction didn't mention it and I'm installing a set on my L5P in the morning.
It is worth it ! My 2009 didn't have them but my 2015 has BDS Recoils. Huge difference ! Both of your trucks look great with them on there ! Happy Turkey Day !
Trac bars are required for anything bigger than a small block. I really can't believe they are not standard with lift kits. I've broken collector pins in leaf springs several times.
Will worn out leaf springs cause axle wrap bc I notice it when I accelerate hard or when I'm pulling my trailers around and I have a worn out 4.7 in a 1500 ram ?
Man I really like what they do for the rear suspension & they look bad to the bone-my only issue w/not pulling the trigger on a set for my liLLY is ground clearance-there seems to be a sacrifice w/the things we love🙄👍🏼
Funny. I had no idea how limited those valve stem caps were. Saw them on your website and decided to grab a set. Accidentally clicked this video just now
Getting my 75" HSP bars in tomorrow!! Got them gloss black, can't wait, they are going to look badass! I may have to wait for a little warmer weather, so I can paint the frame after drilling the fresh holes.
I have a 2008 Duramax 4x4 long-bed and I intend to keep it stock. Wow , ya showed just how simple it can be and your hands were very clean especially with the Army’s doctrine of the 4 F’s . Happy Thanksgiving Day to your family and fans .
I have been wanting to get a set of these ever since I bought my truck but I keep hanging up on the loss of ground clearance because I do alot of hunting in the mountains with alot of muddy and uneven roads. GMs' dang frames hang low enough as it is. Anyone else have these concerns or notice a loss of places you can go after installing traction bars?
I love the functionality of them. But my problem is ground clearance, I often times get into situations where I would be concerned about those rubbing while off road. Any thoughts on airbags? My dad is running those on his 2500 HD and they've helped the ride quality and Towing, plus they don't get in the way. Love the Channel man keep it up!
Beautiful video very informative definitely will be getting my some what company do you reccomend I was looking at kryptonite death grip traction bars or bds any help would be helpful thanks
@@TruckMaster thanks much appreciated my 03 classic 2500hd got a 6 inch lift on 35x14.5x17 currently upgrading my front suspension with kryptonite an bilstein 5100 series shocks appreciate it also I'm sure my truck will to lmao
Ill be pitching these to my bud with a 12 silverado gasser with a 4.11 upgrade, yukon duragrip, cammed and tuned. Makes a lot of sense why punching it seems to drag.
I wanted to ask but I don't know if you had said it before, on the WifeMax is that a level kit or is it actual lift kit on her truck? I'm asking because I want to do at least a level kit on my truck but I can't lift my truck due to my wife not being able to get in the truck due to medical conditions. I will be getting an HSP traction bar kit for my LBZ Duramax soon. So I'm trying to get everything together. Also wanted to thank you for all your videos and that cuz it's been helping me with my LBZ Duramax in issues I've been coming across.
@@TruckMaster I remember you messing with the torsion bar adjustment for the new rims and tires. Didn't know if you had changed anything on that out. Thanks for getting back to me.
May have to pick some of these up soon. Just installed a 3"lift kit with some bilsteins and I'm sure these would help even though I'm nowhere near close to the hp/tq levels you're at.. love the hsp stuff I have :)
Truck Master. Ive been subbed for years now. I had to go back to check out a 2 year old video......my how far your channel has come! The old intro and the old outro music 🤩
Do they make a bar kit to fit a 1/2 ton pick up? What I'm asking is are the axle tub brackets made different? I would to have a set for my 1/2 ton. THANKS IN ADVANCE
I made my own for my burb with 6ft 1/4 wall Dom tubing and bought weld in bungs, and threaded rod ends from speedway and LH and RH threads so they can be adjusted without removing the bars and made the brackets. They come out a couple inches past the cab mount by the front door and made the brackets for them and welded them on the frame and axle
Wow what a difference those traction bars make, the springs hardly move now. Hey I hope my hoodie is coming soon, getting cold here in Wisconsin 🥶 Happy Thanksgiving To you and your family 🦃
So i understand these might have been supplied to you and your channel. Can you do a video on comparison of the different brands of traction bars? Krypto, HSP, WCFab etc?
I need me some traction bars in my life lol... although my lly seems to spin both tires all the time without them. Never a 1 wheel wonder. I definitely don't like the way it looks under there without them when you give'er the beans though.
I see earl moving in the first part of your video. But he didnt go far........must be staying for the holidays??🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Yes anything like that, that supports the suspension. Even rock crawlers/nerd bars whatever their called this week.......ur supporting the mosted flexed area on a truck...between the cab and the bed.
How adjustable are track bars? I'm in a 3.5 leveling kit but have an 8 inch lift on the way. Installing trac bars before the I get my lift or should I wait till after my lift is here and on?
Would you have to get longer traction bars if you have a suspension lift, my 05 Chevy duramax is stock but I wanna put a 4.5 inch suspension and some bigger tires

These bars in the video seem extra low to me… 🤔 I have some different brand and not that low

I wondered the same thing myself.
I would definitely install them on a stock truck

Traction bars are a must for truck pulls, I went with the Longhorn ones for my Duramax.....very stout and zero axle wrap.
Thanks Man!
I’m buying those traction bars because of you!
Love the white with black wheels. I also have a white classic. Mines an lbz though. Never had an issue.

I’ll be doing a Redleg Red on mine when I can afford em .
Got mine ordered. Black Friday deal 10% off and free shipping.
My question is would you lose a lot of ground clearance in the back?
Yes you lose ground clearance at the hanger in the axle and your approach angle for the rear axle will be reduced as the bar itself is in the way.
Video was short and sweet. Good job.
Thanks Mike

My OCD really needs you to rattlecan Bedliner those rear fender wells.. 🤪
I added rear wheel liners and makes the truck look so much nicer.

Also those trac bars look awesome in that color.
How do you know how far away the body bracket should go
