This song has a very other worldy vibe to it, it is joy and sadness at the same time. It as though angels created this song thru the singer. Very ethereal feeling, spiritual. A time less piece of music. It has the same vibe as Billy Idol's "Eyes without a face".......dark and brooding.....

If you like the bass line of this song, have a listen to this new extended version. It combines the long intro of the original extended mix with the vocal parts of the single version, because the original extended mix was almost completely instrumental. Now it's the normal song, just longer. Enjoy!

One of the best songs ever written and ever existed. We used to go to this place, called Ground Round, back in the 80s. The waiting staff and managers already knew our order, so our beer and wings were already on the table when they saw come in and #94 on the jukebox, It's My Life, was already playing due to us coming there. We loved this song, we heard it there, in our cars, in the clubs we visited and everywhere where we could listen to it. The 80s was the best era in music and this was and still is, one of the best songs ever written.

I am proud to be one of the few Americans privileged to have seen Talk Talk live, at Red Rocks of all places, on this album's tour. Dig this bill: Talk Talk, Berlin, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. That's the 80's for you!
One huge regret: Talk Talk had also booked a show at a small club in Denver either the night before or the night after, but the show was cancelled. I don't know why. Such a fan that instead of turning in my ticket for a refund, l kept it...for the show that never happened. Thank you to Mark, Paul, Lee, Simon, and Tim for some of the greatest music ever. Oh yes, l forgot...they were fucking brilliant live, as you would expect. SRV was pretty good too 🙂

@@rabit818 I don't know, l saw a couple of wacky lineups in the 70s, also. How about the (prog) Ambrosia opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd? Or The Ramones, Van Halen, and Black Sabbath? This tour is discussed in music lore occasionally (leaving out The Ramones) and the general history is that VH "blew Sabbath off the stage". I can say absolutely that is not true, but seeing Eddie play "Eruption" from the 2nd row when you are 15 certainly counts as a mind-fucker...then came Randy Rhoads a couple years later. Front row at the Atlanta Fox! But l digress... 😜

Saw them in Liverpool as support band to Duran Duran in 1981 and they blew me away then ,the songs lyrics ,sound and musical cacophony just grew and grew .always a massive success at Montreux festival year after year .they came back to Liverpool following year after Duran Duran after the release of the first album talk talk ..Lee Harris ,the magnificent and totally awesome drummer threw one of his sticks into the crowd at the end ..today I'm still the proud owner of that very stick . The band ‘No Doubt’ covered this song originally written by Talk Talk a few years after it’s initial release & ‘No Doubt’ made an absolute ‘motza’ (cash pile) from it. All the radio stations ever did was play the ‘No Doubt’ cover & ignored Talk Talk’s original version. It was a criminal oversight😡
