SawStop Compact Table Saw Calibration

I did a brief unboxing of the ‪@sawstop‬ Compact Table Saw I bought from ‪@LeeValleyTools‬. Great looking saw, but I'm a bit disappointed with how out of square/calibration it came out of the box. I got it tuned up and looking forward to using it!

Thanks for the video. I just picked one of these up. And so far I like it allot. I haven’t had the time to make adjustments to the slop in the fence but your video is going to help. The saw except for the fence was good out of the box. I made my table so that it supports the fence to the right side of the saw in between the fence rails. I’m going to put a router lift in it when I get some time. I figured that because the fence is reversible maybe I can make something that will attach to it for the lift. Have a good one.

Awesome! That’s a great idea to reverse the fence. You could get some of those clamps to attach a sacrificial board to when using it on the router side.

Well I also bought a Sawstop from Lee Valley 2 weeks ago but haven’t opened it yet since it’s still sitting in my kitchen 😂. Had a Dewalt last year and came close to losing a finger…..I bought this for the safety brake on it. Thanks for the advice ❤❤❤

My zero clearance insert was warped and the replacement they sent me doesn't seem flat either. Gonna make my own eventually

Hey Ryan, what did you end up putting in for a blade? Looking at picking up one of these saws due to the limited space now in my shop but was looking at a few good thin kerf combination blades. Just curious because I heard the blade that comes with the saw is pretty junk.

I bought the Forrest Woodworker II in 1/8th kerf. I think if I was to do it again with that saw, I might get the thin kerf version. It didn't really struggle with the full width blade most of the time, but thick maple left a fair amount of burning sometimes. I got the 40 tooth ATB blade: amzn.to/4c4vltw
