What I’ve discovered is the oring either flattens out or gets slightly damaged at the burst disc I started using small amount of silicone oil on the new or still good o rings and haven’t had a problem since .
@@texomaprecisionpellet7545I watched this earlier this morning and didn’t catch that last minute or so I guess of the video, you mentioned oiling the o rings I should have watched it all before commenting.
I may be wrong but it was my understanding that the lines on the new cartridge heads help the pins from blowing out. I had a problem forever with my pins blowing out the back and so finally Bin over at Bintac “Great dude by the way” sent me the updated ones to fix that problem. So far so good, i think they channel the initial burst of air that comes out the back out and away from going through the pin holes and blowing them out. Could be totally wrong but that was my assumption and i haven’t had one blow out yet since i got the new grooved ones. Anyways love your videos and i plan on being a customer soon. Awesome products
Thanks for your demonstration. Gave me a good idea about what’s going on inside of them, as I haven’t taken them apart myself yet. Haven’t had any issues with mine. Do you sell cartridge/ barrel kits (.457) gen 2 on your website? I’m gonna need a few extras
Still cant get my head around how these fire out the front with disc in the back? Edit nm you described it pretty good. Wonder how much air gets out the back after the initial burst?
Enough that in its predecessor, the Defender, it could create issues (misfires, the occasional broken firing pin, etc.). This new design eliminates those issues
Great video, I have had my Defender for several years and all of what you say is true. Question; I have a two station fill block like yours, it did not come with a foster fitting. Do you know where I can get one or what are the thread size? Thank, Robert
Hello, First off I have Version #1 so I can not speak for Version #2. My gun I would not carry because of reliable issues. I have 10 air cylinders and they all leak at some point. I have tried letting them sit filled for week just to see how many lose air. Some do some do not lose air. I alway make sure the O-rings have scuba lube on them. If I fill all ten cylinders I have, maybe 2 or 3 will fail. I feel that Version #2 is much better and will get one down the road. Hope this answers your questions. @@sheridanarnold6467
Internally, there is no comparison on the cartridges. Defender to cartridges have stainless steel internal parts and the construction just seems better
Think of the applications this could have! 😲😲😲 You have in your hands a complete air rifle shell that only needs to be poked. Think about it! No more air tank in the field or on your rifle or pistol! Just a box, bag, bandolier or even your pockets filled with them. Omg this is what will get airguns regulated. A Complete enclosed concealable system of essentially unlimited ammunition. Just imagine something like the AA-12 Or the Striker

Can I order one foster fitting that will screw into the CNC Defender fill block? I do not see it on your website. Thanks, Robert@@texomaprecisionpellet7545
Just my personal experience... These are a lot more consistent and reliable at 4000 psi. I've never had one fail at 4000 psi. I was only getting about 75% to go bang at 4500
I’ve found an inline dryer works. Also, these are not like the Gen one Defender Cartridges that would rust internally. Gen 2 Defenders and the Harpoon have stainless steel internal part.

@texomaprecisionpellet7545 Im The Customer You Speak of 🤦🏾♂️ And Ive Watched So Many of Your Videos And Dont Know What Im Doing Wrong .....ive used an Air Compressor that didn't work then got a Hand Pump which also didnt Air it up and yes i put new Burst Disks each time.....🤔
I’m happy to help, the next step is sending me a picture of the fill nipple you are using so I can make sure it has an o-ring. Also, on the compressor and hand pump are you shutting the bleeder valve before filling it?
@texomaprecisionpellet7545 Yep shutting the bleed valve completely and the hand pump pumps my 9ci air tank just fine so my last step would be the fill nipple ....I will check that and send u a picture 📸
@texomaprecisionpellet7545 Turns out no Air is passing through the Fill Nipple it's blocked somehow, so no air was actually going into the Air Cartridges 🤦🏾♂️
Extremely reliable platform in my experience when handled with care and a sterile environment. Just ordered the "pen". Should be a blast !
a tremendous video well explained everything I need to know from a mechanical view, thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Is there any patent information on the cartridge I would would to see how ingenious this cartridge is designed
I love it. How long do those disc's last if used correctly?
They are sacrificial, one is used up with each shot and costs about 10 cents

How reliable is it? Do you trust it to carry it? How many shots fail out of say every 10 shots?

If I tossed it in glove glove box, I would have the cartridges at 4,000psi which pretty much eliminated misfires for me

how do you open the shotshells ? is it left handed threads ?
I wasn’t worried about breaking them so I chucked it in my lathe and took it apart with vise grips.
Can you make firing pins for defender?
I’ll look into it
What’s the lifespan of a burst disk?
Thanks
I’ve never had an air cartridge fail. The burst disk is a consumable, you use one for each shot
You need to ensure that you are using a dryer to make sure no moisture is being compressed into the cartridge.
