Thanks Jelly! Yes LotR hits very deep in the nostalgia roots lol. Rohan really does fit Valheim well given the nordic style - it would be really cool if you did a playthrough with that!
You absolutely never fail to impress. This build must have taken you so much time with the amount of research and accurate placement needed to get it "right". Unlike your other builds that you dream up on your own (barring any inspiration ofc), you'd have to use your creative liberties to attempt to portray an already existing setting, which I think you did quite well. I think my favorite bits were the wooden beams on the floor of the golden hall to make an ornate pattern, and the carrot seeds on the tomb spaced out in a way that looks natural. Top tier as always! This is the kind of place I'd love to build for myself someday in my survival worlds. A decent building to live in, a couple smaller buildings for storage an defense, and a nice bit of farmland, all built within decent sized walls to keep enemies out. (Especially important in plains, as my most recent game had 3 lox spawn next to my house and they attacked my crafting table on my stone entrance, dealing massive damage to my structure). I try to keep playing to game to get to the mistlands on my own terms before I completely spoil myself on its appearance, but sadly, my most recent game hit disaster and I'll be starting over again. Soon though, I shall see the mistalnds with my owns eyes, and be able to witness your incredible builds within them! Also seeing the name I chose for my patreon in your list was something else lol. A totally new experience for me
Thanks so much Emily! You actually brought up such an interesting yet true aspect of this project that I didn’t even mention in my commentary! Totally hit the nail on the head regarding how this build had its own set of challenges - I normally am free to just flow wherever my imagination takes me, but this time I totally had to do background research and execute this build in a very specific way. In some regards it’s easier because I have a guide to follow, but in other aspects it’s harder because it can be constraining to determine what is “right” based on the objective! Lol sorry to hear about the recent play though disaster. Keep on pushing through! You’ll get there! And thanks so much for you continued support. Both in watching the content and supporting on Patreon ❤️ much appreciated
Those stake walls are called palisades (because they're made of palings, the trimmed logs). Wonderful job on the Gullínholl. A salr worthy of any Nordic king or jarl. A lovely town. Easily comparable, if not exceeding, Whiterun in its vibe and presence (since Whiterun was also heavily informed by Edoras). The barrows outside town were the pervect touch to cap the settlement's personality. I would adore stumbling across such a village in a fitting setting. Heck, might even add it to a vikingr story of my own - think I know just the place for it. Keep doin' what you're doin', Smitty. Hrafn gleddi!
As a fan of the films and Tolkien's work in general, this was great to watch. I love how accurate it looks to the films. Its not perfect, but still pretty dang good. Good job!

Как же ты мощно чувствуешь эту игру. Очень мощная передача атмосферы из фильма, идеальное исполнение интерьера, почерпнул для себя много нового, спасибо!
I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to transition to a shot of the tombs in your cinematic during the more melancholy notes of the Edoras theme. Really nice touch, and amazing build. Well done!
Smitty...you are unreal man, it's kinda funny, on one hand you inspire me to make epic builds like this and on the other hand you make me want to quit the game knowing i will never make a build this epic xD...i just don't have that creativity in me :P (PS: what is that cart thing on minute 14:50, is that a mod?)
Haha I'm sorry I make you so torn! Creativity is a muscle you can train just like anything else. If you take in enough inspiration from other sources, you'll have a brain full of visual references! Keep at it! So that cart you see is actually just the large Dvergr cart which is a game-asset in some Dvergr settlements in the Mistlands. I just spawned it into this area because I thought it fit well with the rustic Rohan Theme!
One of the things I loved about your video was how you narrated it. You gave us examples of your references as well as reasons you did certain things as well as your approach to each section/element. I love this build very much and it is easily recognizable, but your talent is more than just building. Great work sir, subscribing and keeping an eye on you!

I won't list my Minecraft UA-cam name because well that would be redundant, I don't have too many subscribers anyway it doesn't really matter but I just wanted to give you that compliment and say that what you have done in this video took a long time and major respect.
That diamond window style on the Golden Hall? That's amazing, I have to adopt that. Every time I build it I'll think of Smitty. Also, glad you explained why you wall off a space first before building the village within. I never understood why you did that before. EDIT: You forgot the most important buildings of all: the stables. I suspect the horses of the Rohirrim generally walk in large ranches or even open plains and are cared for by nearby Rohan peasants. But the horses of important visitors and royals are in the royal stables.
WoW. Just wow. Never played this game but interested now after seeing your video! Edoras looks fantastic I just hope you add some guards on top of towers or NPC so Edoras would feel more alive with Rohan citizens.
Holy H! This was an amazing build, one of the coolest I've ever seen! As a huge LotR and Valheim fan , having watched countless hours of builds this truly amazing! Love it! When the Rohan theme kicked in at the end it hit me straight in the feels! Amazing work man, can't wait for what you do next, something more LotR themed perhaps? :-D
Thank you so much! LOTR and Valheim. A fantasy match made in heaven lol. Oh lash no doubt that Rohan theme always hits hard in the feels 😂 definitely will do some more LOTR themed builds in the future 👌🏻 appreciate the support!
Really nice build! It captures the feel pretty well. What I've never liked about most depictions of the Golden Hall of Edoras is, that it is supposed to be the residence of the king, but there's never any space allowance to do the residencing. It's all just mead hall and throne room. So, there either needs to be a living complex to the side, or the throne room and mead hall should be smaller. I think this might also be an artifact of our modern perception of palaces etc. Most of them have changed into to being mostly showpieces and aren't permanent residences any longer. But that's hardly your fault 🙂 I think you did a good job in adapting existing depictions into the game.
This is beautiful and full of detail, the only thing I missed was the stable where Aragorn calms Theodred's horse Brego, setting him free, Brego later finding Aragorn and bringing him to Helms Deep. You even made a building fitting for it as well, the cross shaped one nearest the main gate.
This is soo epic! If you’re doing theme based builds maybe do a whole lotr themed build. That’d be pretty epic and you definitely have the vision and know how to create such amazing builds through valhiem! Good luck on your adventures!
Awesome build and really good video! I really appreciate the attention to detail you have with all the decoration and interiors. I do have to say that it was a bit funny to see my painting (the top right one) just randomly pop on the screen at 0:44 :D
Another awesome build! - I've started on my first creative build now and I went from idealess to ideas! and now I've been working on it for 2 weeks and I am far from finished lol. Nothing like you but hopefully I will get good. I have learnt so much too. Didn't realise walls did a big FPS hit, that explains why my FPS is dying in my kingdom lol. As I have used a lot. Not going to stop now though will finish the build no matter how bad it gets lol and next time I will make note to not go so bad with the walls!
So glad I could provide some inspiration! Building is a skill just like anything else. You’ll get better if you keep on pushing! Oh yeah walls are sneaky instance suckers, especially if you’re covering a huge area! Lol love the commitment! 😂
@@smittysurvival haha thanks, I have took a tiny break from the creative build to work on my progression world and somehow that turned into a creative world too but with the intent of more functional and actual progression but still making the base look good! but just keeping in mind less walls this time haha. I got a bit nof a brain fart after all this creativity I suddenly forgot how to do roofs lol and your last video on simple houses saved my build once again! Though I still find roofs so damn confusing lol
Mind blown. Again. Your building skills are really something else! I enjoy each of your builds and stories around them. I feel tempted to hop into LotRO and look up if they did Edoras half as nice as you did. 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it! Oh it's been a minute since I've hopped in LotRO... I freaking loved that game. Not sure I ever leveled far enough to enter Rohan though. Think Agmar was as far as I got. Will definitely need to hop back into that world again!
@@smittysurvival To be honest, despite all the new tech in the later expansions, I felt that the core game was the most enjoyable, as it felt most genuine. And I did level enough characters to have seen a lot of it! It's such a beautiful game that brings Middle Earth to life, like your burial mounds in this build did. 😍

I find building in valheim so difficult unlike other games like Minecraft. This is seriously impressive!
This looks absolutely stunning!
As a huge LOTR and Valheim fan this is truly stunning.
This is soo epic! If you’re doing theme based builds maybe do a whole lotr themed build. That’d be pretty epic and you definitely have the vision and know how to create such amazing builds through valhiem! Good luck on your adventures!
This is insanely epic - hats off to you sir!
Thank you so much!
Awesome build and really good video! I really appreciate the attention to detail you have with all the decoration and interiors. I do have to say that it was a bit funny to see my painting (the top right one) just randomly pop on the screen at 0:44 :D
Oh no way! Lol that UA-cam algorithm is waaayy too plugged in! Hope you don’t mind my using it as a reference!
@@smittysurvival Nope, not at all! Keep creating! 🙌
I'm stealin' that window design and there's nothing you can do to stop me!
This is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for!
Amazing work man, inspires me to try and build something better than a fixed up abandoned hut
Bro this is a great representation of Edoras! Magnífic build and video!🔝✌️
Thank you! Glad I could do it justice 💪🏻 appreciate the support!
Amazing as usual!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!
unreal beutiful !
I was inspired by the city of Whiterun in Skyrim and built Jorvaskr, in fact, this is also part of Edoras
Well done man, looks awesome.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
