I Built the MOST DREADFUL Town in Valheim
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 чер 2024
- Hello Vikings! So excided to share this new build with you all! I worked on this project through the month of October, so I definitely leaned into some Spooky season themes. Not the most pleasant Valheim Town to visit, but still a beautifully (and dreadfully) crafted story that I think you all will like! Enjoy!

This guy should be hired for level design.
But devs don’t hire people with imagination or a shred of originality anymore … they just want money for low effort 😅. Just watching this makes me want to play it again. ..
absolutely
Agreed, I see some good potential here. :)
100% was what im about to comment.
Would be way more fun than my day job! Lol. Honestly this comment means a lot. Thank you so much for the support!
Coffee Stain needs to hire you to add more POIs in this game! This would be amazing to find randomly in the game. That is one of the main things missing in this game.
Great job.
exactly what i thought
i came to comment this, it’s insane he really should be making pois
Yeah the existing ruins you find are pretty basic and pitiful.
Coffee Stain is just the publisher, Irongate is the developer. Hiring would be the later, not the former.
@@reyhaz *pushes up glasses* "Ehm, actually"... It doesn't really matter dude, he's just saying whoever is in charge of hiring should do it.
if iron gate would employ smitty just to build random stuff and make the game look less unpopulated, maybe do some side story around this places.... damn it would be a great improvement for valheim
If that's a job that needs filling, then sign me up! Would be way more fun than what I do now! lol
I want a whole expansion in this vibe.
The people have spoken! They want spooky builds
@@smittysurvivalspooky builds are the best builds!
I want the word "vibe", erased from our collective languages.
@@godbelow You're giving off kind of a cringe vibe
Imagine a premade map with two dozen locations like those scattered throughout the biomes.. That would elevate the gameplay experience so much. Now let the modding scene grow, add unique bosses/elite enemies in there, prevent players from building anything (Beside maybe beds, camp fires and crafting station) and we pretty much turned Valheim from a survival game to an actual RPG. I'd love to play something like that ngl.
Seriously this would be the ultimate game!
Honestly i think it might be a good idea to reach out the devs, this is awesome
I love finding old ruins in games like this, cleaning them of monsters, tidying them up and repairing them again so that I can use them as a base, especially when you're not that far into the game and you've patched up the stone structures with wood it's really brilliant. I wish places like this could be found everywhere in Valheim.
Would be such a great addition! Hopefully in the future!
Yep, I would definitely NOT want to live there. This actually really feels like Tristram. I could just imagine a group of Dungeon raiders discovering a hidden stairwell behind the Church altar only to find King Leorics undead minions waiting for them below. You really nailed the bleak feeling of desolation. Beautiful in a horrid way 😁
Totally has Tristram vibes! Glad you liked this one and appreciate the support as always :)
Smitty when have I not liked any of your work ? 🙃but this one is a notch better than some. @@smittysurvival
I like to build in the swamp. Typically, I find an existing structure (such as a crypt) and build around it. I haven't thought to construct ruins - typically, I construct buildings for me to use when I'm in the area. It might be fun to fill an island or two with ruined structures and villages, all connected by overgrown paths. A world filled with structures like this could be shared so that others who want a world that looks more lived-in can explore its secrets. Unfortunately, anything like this will become out of date whenever a major update comes along.
This build is absolutely fantastic, and truly fitting for October. Thank you so much for adding what mods you use - I keep forgetting to get them until I see another video from you XD Headed to the Nexus now.
Thank you so much! So happy you enjoyed this one - Yes I use some mods, but it's very light, and mostly for convenience than outright game-changing. Everything utilized in the map is still standard game assets. Appreciate the support!
talking about stopping and staring is so real to me. I do the same thing when im working on a big build in minecraft all the time.
Indeed it's a curse that all builders are afflicted with, no matter what game lol
As an older person I stumbled onto this video and found it surprisingly creative, I enjoyed every minute of it along with your narrative reasoning behind each of the structures. I hope you find a way to turn this creative pursuit into a real way to make a living, you definitely have a talent.
This is one of the best build videos I've ever seen.
Wow thank you so much! So happy you liked it!
Holy crap this is very well done! 16:32 even added the raven there and made the cinematic even better!, i am glad i found this trending in youtube lol, subscribed.
Thank you! Honestly I don't even know how that Raven go there - the game just knew it was a perfect spot lol. So happy you enjoyed this! Appreciate the support!
People that make stuff like this blows my mind, i always see things like this and think "i can do that no problem" then vuild my basic ass box house, mad props man keep up the awesome work
LOL! We all have to start somewhere!
I couldn’t agree more with all those saying your work needs to be brought to the Big Time! This is such an incredibly immersive and expressive creation! 100/10. I love the background music as well! If anyone knows what it might please do tell!
background music - ua-cam.com/video/cmLeG3JsJGE/v-deo.html
Dreadful build, horrifying presentation, ghastly video. Loved every second, 10/10 :D Story elements were really well done, really brought the whole thing to life... or death?
This is brilliant, you have some serious talent as a world builder with great understanding of lore ideas to create compelling environments too.
I've never played this game, but this looks so incredibly awesome. This would be such a cool area to stumble into in any game, and its crazy that this was made by a player. Good job dude, it looks so cool!
If you ever get the chance to try it out, would definitely recommend! Valheim surprised me in many ways! Glad you liked it and appreciate the support!
this is INCREDIBLE. by far my favorite build you've ever done. thank you for taking the time to do this, and to show us your amazing work!!!
Oh wow thank you so much! Comments like this really make the work that goes into these worth it :) Appreciate the support!
This is amazing and gorgeous. Honestly it's digital art. Well done!
Thank you so much! It does feel like a niche form of art at times! Appreciate the support!
The fact that you instilled so much time and focus on details on this is really impressive. You are one of those who would be perfect in level design of games. Kudos!
Thank you so much! Indeed a ton of time and focus go into these projects, so thank you for noticing! Lol maybe I'll take some level design classes and change careers ;)
One thing for sure, this game needs locations full of stories like this. You would make a great environment artist for this game or any game actually. Nice work!
The environmental storytelling of this build is so breathtaking! Imagine if IronGate Studios hired this guy to make structures like this that can be generated into the real biomes of the game.
Truly it's all about environmental storytelling! Would be incredible to work for IronGate!
@@smittysurvival I wonder if they are hiring haha. All I know is that they use Unity Engine for this, so C# programming and know how with procedural generated terrain might be key.
glad to see you're starting to get more attention, you deserve it dude. not only are the builds always immaculate and beautiful, the storytelling / presentation of the video is really artistic and excellently done, getting better and better. good shit!
Thank you! Yeah channel has been steadily growing as of recent! Very grateful to be able to share my hobby with a community that appreciates it! :) Makes all the work worth it!
Resident Evil: Valheim is amazing! Your attention to story details is second to none. My favorite build to-date.
Thank you so much! Lol totally does have some Resident Evil vibes!
13:07 I know this feeling so well, it feels like a personal attack.
Also, at 16:26, I think you should have inverted the crosses to further emphasize the fact that this place has been desecrated.
This would've been a great detail!
Toss a skeleton spawner in the fissures so they actually come out of there. Awesome build btw
That would be sick. Though the fissure would need some sort of ramp built into it, so the skeletons can escape from it.
@thestorminmormin1442 oh yeah that's true. They were pretty deep. Either way its a sweet spooky season build
Totally thought about this! But yes as mentioned in the other comments they'd just get stuck without some kind of ramp lol
Thank you, it was really interesting for me to watch this😊
Thank you! So glad you liked it and appreciate the support!
WOW! This is a f****ng amazing masterpiece of artwork! The atmosphere is captured so fantastically and the story that the village tells makes your blood run cold. My favorite place is the gallows. The consistency with which you approached this project is simply incredible!
I've never played this game, but this town looks like something built for a Necromancer. Also looks like something from Witcher 3.
Totally fits the vibe!
absolutely phenomenal build. Wish we could run across poi's like this in game.
Thank you! Yes I agree, would make the world feel so much better!
Nice work! You would be a great game map designer :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate this comment a lot :)
Bro this is hauntingly good. I love the care and planning that goes into these builds. You're awesome at storying through design.
Thank you so much! Yes, so much work goes into this stuff but it's always nice to hear when people appreciate the result :) Thank you for the support!
Wow. I've seen a lot of builds throughout the years but this feels like the most organic one out of them all. I've worked on my own theme park world of sorts here and there but haven't touched the game in quite a while. This would definitely get me back into the game to recreate near the massive graveyard biome I had carved out if I weren't already playing through BG3 atm. Absolutely my favorite build of all-time.
I've never watched anything related to Valheim before, and I'm honestly so happy this is my first exposure to it! The town is so beautiful in such a haunting way, and the music you used added so much to the general vibe. Amazing video!!!
This is incredible! Your building designs are so creative and way beyond what I thought was possible in Valheim. I definitely need to jump back in and mess around with the building mechanics again.
This is one of your best builds yet. So much atmosphere and story telling.
Thank you so much! I agree the atmosphere and thematic integrity of this one is super strong!
This was seriously impressive man! Great work:)
great environmental storytelling or lesson in "show, dont tell"
100% on point. Always thinking about how I can build more intentionally to tell my story!
That's some creative stuff dude, nice!
There is a group of modders (two guys lol) who makes RPG game in Valheim. They already did a bunch of very impressive stuff: 5 cities, some smaller POI, quests etc. I feel like your village should be in there. Absolutely gorgeous design.
Love the design! Great job!
This is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The level of detail and storytelling is amazing and gives so much more depth to your builds. Truly so impressive
wow, this was awesome dude! good job!
Wish I could just stumble upon this stuff in the game. Better than just random little towers or huts.
Dude this is incredible, I love that you keep it very simplistic in nature with no gimmicky placement of stuff, just great lighting and good placement of the buildings and walls makes it look so natural and apart of the world. I wish their were places like this in the game to explore. Great job dude
This build looks incredibly cool. Would definitely send a shiver down my spine exploring that place, especially considering how the swamps are already haunting. Great job!
Looks like the haunted towns in new world. Awesome work man!
I've never played new world! I'll have to check it out!
Amazing build, i get a strong Diablo / Vermintide vibe watching this one. Not only you nailed the dark fantasy style but you also got the technical stuff with aged building, combat destructions, very well done sir!
Y'know, the old jarl useda live out here. It's true. He built his hall right in the middle there. Then it sank into the swamp. So he built another one. That fell over, then sank into the swamp. So he built another one. That burned down, fell over, *then* sank into the swamp. So he tried again. That one burned down, fell over, *blew up,* then sank into the swamp. Then he built this one, which didn't sink - probably because it's sitting on top of all the other ones. Of course he was ruined by then, so he had to sell it. I got the place for a song, and now I just hope it doesn't sink into the swamp.
This has been your obligatory Monty Python reference, brought to you by Zoggin Git Industreez.
Jokes aside, you did very well on this. Bigtime Diablo 3 "New Tristram" vibes, only overrun and ruined by the dead instead of saved.
I hereby dub this place...Niđingsþorpe. Which is just the fancy Norse way of saying "Blight Town". (Oh, and if you wanna pronounce that right, remember that đ, eth, is a soft 'th' like in 'then', and the þ, thorn, is a hard 'th' like in 'thigh'. Nee-th-ingz-thawpa.👍)
OMG a top comment goes to the Monty Python reference!
BINGO! Tristram Cathedral from diablo III was a huge influence when I was pulling refence! Great eye!
Epic!
Nice work yo!
my boi. this church is actually the dope sauce. way to go homie. great content!!!!
This is way too cool, congrats on another amazing build :P Always happy to see your videos come out!
Thank you! So cool to hear when people continually look forward to the content :) Appreciate the support!
Super cool man. First time viewer, keep it up!
This earned you a new sub and follower. I love dark and gloomy designs like this. The lighting is incredible, and adding in remnants of battle torn spots is phenomenal. Good job and keep builds like this coming!
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel and appreciate the support!
Dude I gotta say, I share the same enthusiasm as you when it comes to world building and environmental storytelling. I just LOVED to get to know your work and all the effort and attention you put into it, its wonderful, pieces of art even. Keep on with the great work, loved the video and how you put it together while explaining what you were trying to do, loved the cinematic at the end aswell. This, what you do here, is truly art.
This is so creative and really inspiring. The church surroundings really put the whole build together for me.
Thank you! Yes the church and surrounding graveyard really set a dark tone for sure! Glad you liked it!
Wow! 😮
Awsome design and build!
I love your storytelling. Amazing job!
Amazing job dude! This is so cool
Amazing work! Finding this randomly in my travels through "just another swamp" would send chills up my spine and completely trigger my imagination and curiosity. All that's missing is a mini-boss to spawn from one of the two fissures and there is suddenly an epic tale to tell back at camp.
Looks awesome my dude!
Smitty mate this is a work of art. Very well done!
Wow, that is incredible! That is the best Valheim build I've seen yet, and that's saying a lot. Nice work!
I just gotta say I have been running some of your videos in the background and I have to say you have been a real inspiration for me in building. Course I don't build in creative so it takes me MUCH longer to build, but I get a lot of joy out of that. Looking at my castle I am working on I get a sense of pride knowing I went out and collected every log and stone type of thing. Regardless, you have helped me a lot in ideas to spruce it up! Look forward to more amazing builds!
This looks absolutely amazing!
You put a lot of love and care into these builds and they're very beautiful. This is basically art in a video game amazing job. I wish you the best and most creative builds in the future
Thank you so much! Yes a lot of work does go into these projects. Just glad I can share it with people who can appreciate the creativity :)
''This squalid hamlet, these corrupted lands, they are yours now, and you are bound to them.''
Ahhh... a person of culture I see. Darkest Dungeon ftw!
but seriously, I wish there were more POI that looked this good in Valheim. The devs should seriously consider asking for POI submissions from players at this point. Such great work!
What a masterpiece man, you are extremely creative. Pleasure to watch!
I had a lot of fun with this game at launch, but haven't played it since. That being said, this is bloody awesome, mate. Well done!
I was consistently reminded of death and destruction and given vibes of spookyness throughout the video. Thanks for the video. Good luck.
Absolutely incredible. Thanks you for sharing your process with us - it makes you appreciate the end result so much more!
3:30 The skeleton jaccuzi to chill out in during calmer moments of the skeleton war
man this is so cool! the little details that you came up with are awesome, and the church looks so good looming over the rest of the settlement. Love the effect of the guck in the water and making the church seem like a place where skeletons were emerging from was a awesome idea, i think it came out really cool. Thanks for sharing!! i wish there was a mod that could allow you to place all the things you placed without it putting you into creative mode tho haha, i just wanna have all the in game files / peaceable items available on my regular hammer cuz i love building things in the base game without devcommands/flying around
this is beautful, i love how much thought and care went into every last piece!
Really great village man. Very creative and cool! :)
Don't even play valheim but the vibe is so good it caught my attention
Lol just here for the vibes... love it!
It be great to see larger ruin cities/towns like this in valheim randomly spawned
Totally agree!
Bro Holy
That church is amazing. I wish all the custom build pieces were just in the game
This is so awesome! Haven't played Valheim in a long time, might have to get back into it! Thank you for sharing.
It’s absolutely incredible! Dream big my friend you have a great talent that should be utilized. Showing all of your great creations here is very wise since now they are all immortalized!
Thank you so much! I'll keep dreaming! Appreciate the support!
Awesome work! The church and the fortress are just great. I agree that building in different biomes gives a very different vibe.
Another excellent build! You're one of the few youtubers where I get excited when a new video drops.
Wow! Thank you so much! This comment actually means a lot to me :) Appreciate the support!
Of course bro, no problem! Just in case you haven't thought of it, Barad-Dur when the Ashland update comes out would be cool.
This takes me back to my minecraft days, adding the most minucia of details to a medieval village and make it looked lived in and real was so pleasurous
by FAAAR the most interesting and atmospheric design I've seen. Amaze!
You nailed it looks great. Imagine actually coming across such a place while exploring in game would be very cool and menacing.
This is looks crazy good! Much better design then most MMO have or even had. XD
Great job, i love the design and the ascetic, it well fit together IMHO.
Awesome job - your videos always impress! I'm trying really hard not to play Valheim until ashlands drops so I don't get burnt out, but watching your videos is a happy compromise.
Really impressive, awesome job.
the music and commentary makes a build video into an entertaining story, first time watching your video and god dammn
glorious! I know squat about Valheim, but I love the halloween aesthetic anywhere I can find it, and you did a fantastic job! really dig the environmental storytelling elements. makes me wanna work a town like this into my D&D games. 11/10, the vibes are immaculate.
A lot of people hate the swamp biome, but i love it, the first time i played valheim this place was so spooky the sounds and all, but at the same time fun to explore, very memorable place, to me this is a classic biome of valheim.
YES! I've always had the opinion that the Valheim Swamps has one of the most well executed biomes from a thematic standpoint. Totally a classic!
Amazing. True art within a game setting.
This ish looks dope AF!!
Excellent work, man!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!
Pardon the delay in watching yet another amazing video of yours. Even your dreadful towns are beautifully done!
I’m speechless. I had no idea you could even build something this intricate and creepy in Valheim. Consider me more than impressed
