@robertlunderwood It sounds familiar, but I can't remember the exact game, unfortunately! If you happen to find it, post the link in a reply, or if you know the game and date/year, perhaps I can locate and post it!!!
Why is this even a debate? Of course Ben roethlisberger had a better career and Eli. (No hate to Eli) Ben Roethlisberger is more accurate, Better precision, more trustworthy, has less interception, etc. Ben roethlisberger has been a Top 10 QB for years leading his team to the playoffs every year. Now you could make a case that Big Ben had a better team since the Steelers are always contenders and is a well run organization. Meanwhile the Giants are a dumpster fire team that wasted Eli Manning final year.
Big Ben had a better team most of his career. Eli never had an offensive line and Steelers always had a better defense. The years the defense stepped up for NYG Eli won super bowls. That dude is an assassin in the post season, straight ice in his veins.
The first super bowl the Giants won was more due to the defense than Eli. He made some big plays when he had to. But the defense shut down Brett Favre, Tony Romo and Tom Brady
I pick Ben over Eli, but respect to Eli man. I'm a Pats fan, so I know first hand what Eli has accomplished. The thing is, Eli was never close to being the best QB in the league at any point in his career. He has some longevity stats, but he has also led the league in INT's multiple times I believe. He turned the ball over a lot. He has a .500 career record. A 60% career completion percentage. But he had some magic on his side a few times during those Superbowl wins. He played good for the most part during those runs. Is it enough to get him into the HOF? I don't know man. It's tough.
You have to draw the line somewhere. QBs from the same era are Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Ben, Eli and Rivers. I think the line gets drawn at Ben. Eli probably should get in but may have to wait a while. There's only 1 QB in the HOF with no MVPs or SB appearances and Rivers isn't going to be the 2nd.
Ben also was never a mvp candidate and led the league in int twice, no one questions his credentials. The fact is that Eli had HORRIBLE teams in those Giants for most of his career, specially after his last title run. People would say Eli was the problem, look how "great" they have been after he left .... look how many HOF he played alongside and compare to others like Big Ben. Its close and I give the edge to Ben (Eli in the clutch though), but this notion that Eli lucked out 2 superbowls and was average the rest is naive, Ben and Eli are the same tier of QB, all time greats that were never quite as great as Brady and Peyton. Still, 2 first ballot hofmers.
Eli carried 11 Giants to a Superbowl win. That defense was 29th all year while having the worst oline and dead last rushing attack as well. So teams pretty much expected Eli to throw and Eli did just that and won. It's not even debatable that Eli is a Hof QB who played with ZERO Hof players on offense.
Every time I hear Dan trying to sound smart in an argument (which don’t get me wrong he is a lot of times), I always go back to him running into the back of his own end zone.
Eli Manning is such a fun football player to argue about because his career makes no sense when you think about. He was a middle of the road/ bad qb for a lot of years in his career but the 2 years he wasn't, he was a top 5 Qb who beat TOM BRADY in the SB (with the help of his defense). Ultimate x-factor lol
It’s clearly Ben. Ben used to throw 7 TD back to back. Throwing ppl off him left and right. Eli used to be scared to get hit and folded all the time. He was great all the other times doe I give him that. But if Ben would’ve retired when Eli did this wouldn’t even be a question
People really making a case for Eli having a better CAREER based on the 2 wins against Brady? LMAO... yes Eli's super bowl wins were more impressive but Ben had the better CAREER
@John Jung it’s so ridiculous! That first super bowl the pass rush won them that game. Anyway Eli Manning is very overrated. His regular season numbers are meh.
@@jmcgee39 again dude he made the play when he had to but let’s not pretend that Manning was lighting it up on that game as well lol 🤡 again two runs doesn’t make you a great QB and it’s ridiculous to compare this guy to ben. Eli has a career record of 127-127 .

Teams didn't worry about Eli. Teams worried about Ben. End of argument. Plus Ben had more 4th quarter comebacks more game-winning drives and possibly the greatest pass ever thrown to win a super bowl. Strangely enough no one mentions the pass to Santonio Holmes. Nice to see the media has stayed consistent with Ben.
Teams didn’t worry about Ben until after 08 when they started opening it up and throwing it down the field. Did you see Ben in his first SB appearance he was horrible lol, and honestly that playoff run was as much Willie Parker and the defense as Ben. I’ll still agree Ben had a better career but come on now.
Ben’s first ring was handed to him. Eli Manning is 3-2 all time against Brady including 2 4th quarter comebacks in both of his Super Bowls. Eli is 7-2 on the road and 8-4 overall. He still holds the record for most passing yards in a single postseason: 2011 (1,219). Meanwhile Ben has been on superior teams his whole career and posted 9/21 Rate 22.6 (lowest by a SB winning QB) and fell short to Rodgers his 3rd and last appearance. Eli took down 18-0 and has 5 GWD in the postseason. He also lead 8 total 4th quarter comebacks in 2011 even though the Giants finished 9-7.
Eli only won a playoff game in those two seasons they won the Super Bowl. Every other season, he failed to either make the playoffs or win a playoff game.
@@steel148 When I say Eli has the better legacy, it basically means he has more legendary/iconic moments (the Tyree catch, Manningham pass, beating Brady twice) that will be remembered by most football fans regardless of who you root for. Ben was great, but outside of the pass to Holmes to beat the Cards in the superbowl, he doesn't have many moments that most football fans will immediately remember years later.
@@tango072013 to be honest with you, not many people outside of NY know much about the Tyree catch or the Manningham whatever. Those players made those moments what they are not necessarily Eli. That’s why you refer to it as the Tyree catch not the Eli throw. And Eli didn’t beat TB in the SB. The Giants did. QBs play against defenses not other qbs. Js.
@@steel148 Brah you kinda cappin lol. The Tyree catch is recognized as one of the greatest plays in football history. Anyone that watches football and is old enough knows that play, not just NY fans. Yes, Tyree made the catch but you can't take the improbable escape out of a sack or throw away from Manning. And while technically your point about the Giants beating Brady is correct, we both know history doesn't view it that way, especially considering Eli got the best of him twice on the biggest stage. Eli is known as the guy who beat Brady twice.
Take away both of their super bowls and who had the better career? It’s Big Ben by a long shot, even with the Super Bowls. Eli had 2 decent seasons, that’s it
Eli played in a more stacked & decorative division . He played against tougher competition to get to his Superbowls & win them .. Eli faced Brady twice in the Superbowl
Bengals!? Tough? Come on now. I’ll give you the Ray Lewis, Ed Reed Ravens but you crazy. Ben had 4 easy Ws every year against the browns and the Bengals. Also FYI Eli went through a 15-1 MVP Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau on his way to his second ring. Over 300 yards and 3 TDS in that game.
@@micahkiyimba8641 so what! He had the better overall career than Eli & is the much better player! Eli will go into the HOF because of his last name only! He’s Peyton’s literally little red headed step-brother!
Every stat Molly read about Eli is true about Ben, but all of those stats Ben has better stats. They showed the stats side by side and Ben is better in all of them. When it comes to the 4th quarter drives and comebacks Ben has more than 20 more. It's not close. Not only did Ben have more playoff appearences, but Elie has multiple losing seasons. In his last 6 years he had 5. When comparing players to use the team they played for as an argument point isn't valid. Let's not forget though how good the Giants defense was when they were winning superbowls. Strahan, JPP, Antonio Pierce, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora. The Steelers defense was good during the superbowl runs, but in the last 3 playoff games the defense has allowed 40 points or more in every game.
Disappointed no one shut Molly & Dan by simply stating that Ben had better numbers in Eli's "top 10" statistics. Love the Eli & the Giants but Ben was a HOF his ENTIRE career
Exactly they brung up calling Eli “MR FOURTH QUARTER” when Ben is literally top 3 in game winning drives. The truth is Ben is one of the most hated players he doesn’t get the full credit he deserves because of his past.
I think Ben has the edge. At the same time tho, his teams were always waaaay better than Eli's. WR, RB, defense, COACHING, he had everything better than Eli. Also, how many H.O.F. players did Eli play with compared to Ben?
Eli: Strahan, Tiki isn't a hall of famer but he has a case, Ben: Ward, Polamalu, Bettis Not a hall of famer but they both played with Plaxico Burress who was a solid WR.
@@justinpettit8099 Manning played with Tiki 2 years. Won his first ring, the year after tiki retired. So you can't count him. In fact, how many did Eli play for compared to Ben??
Molly wants to talk about Eli being in the Top 10 in passing yards, passing TDs, and completions in NFL history and is one of 5 players ever to win multiple Super Bowl MVPs. The Super Bowl MVP argument is valid, but the yards, TDs, and completions aren't. All of those numbers accumulate and build up the more years you play. Also, Eli never led the NFL in passing yards, passing TDs, completions, or any other positive QB stat. The one thing he did lead the NFL in 3 times to be exact is INTs. But his career was better than Ben Roethlisberger's, right? And Dan Orlovsky keeps talking about how Eli didn't have the defenses that Ben had on the Steelers. That's to no fault of Ben. He wasn't a turnover machine like Eli was and a lot of those picks Eli threw put the Giants' defense in bad spots and situations. That's on him, not them. Ben >>>>> Eli
@@TheKingQP Exactly. And I'm an Eagles fan. People wanna use the fact that because he beat Tom Brady, Bill Belicheck, and the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl that he's on a different level. People forget, in the Super Bowls Ben won, the Seahawks only TD came after an interception that set up a really short field, and vs the Cardinals the Steeler D had a TD and they only won by 4. Both years the Steelers won the Super Bowl, the Pats missed the playoffs entirely. The Browns and Bengals were 4 automatic wins Ben's whole career. The NFC east used to actually be pretty competitive when Eli was playing. Ben is a better passer no doubt, if I need to win a meaningless regular season game, I'll take Big Ben. If I need to win a game I have no business winning? Eli 100%.

@@RL-ww5ev If you look at strictly from a fantasy football perspective sure. But Ben won more championships and played much better in the playoffs. At the end of the day the NFL is about winning. Which is why there is a solid debate there.

Its true that the steelers are so much better than the giants as a organization
Big Ben had a better team most of his career. Eli never had an offensive line and Steelers always had a better defense. The years the defense stepped up for NYG Eli won super bowls. That dude is an assassin in the post season, straight ice in his veins.

It's tough.
eli lead nfl int 3times miss playoffs 7times
This literally made me bust out laugiing😂😂
Eli Manning is such a fun football player to argue about because his career makes no sense when you think about.

Js.
