For someone so smart, he should recognize the tactics these companies use when running Kickstarters with influencers. They often create review units that perform exceptionally well to impress influencers, but when it comes to mass production, they cut costs by using cheaper, inferior parts. The difference usually goes unnoticed-much like how most people can't distinguish between 4K and 2K as just one example. This strategy ensures the influencer delivers a glowing review, and unfortunately, he fell for it once again. Apologies to all his viewers.
@@sportzspaz6303 it's precisely cause he is smarter and he is a professional that he knows the brands and they don't trick him. He also had reviews comparing the one he received with the one the brand finally sells. Maybe you should trust his expertise a lil bit more instead of giving for guaranteed that "he fell for it" thinking that you are the smartest ass in the room 😂
I would be curious to see how the Valerion compares with the UST Hisense PX3-Pro in a side-by-side comparison... I understand that the tech is different, but at the end of the day, which is better in both light and dark viewing conditions?
Your comparative projector reviews are perfect. Was interested but skeptical about the Valerion Kickstarter. Your review provided the validation I needed. Just signed up for the Max which launches in May. Used your link so hopefully giving a little back. Thanks so much for all that you do.
Been on the 'hook' the past few months whether to go for Aurora Pro, or wait for PX3-PRO. Just pledged for Max which at Kickstarter price meets everything. Thank you for great work, kind sir!
I think the brightness test/comparison should only be done in the most color-accurate mode. Your D65 lumens and laser speckle comparisons are much appreciated. Thank you!
I have watched lots of projector reviews, and got to say this is by far the best, the detail is everything you need to kmow , for sure anybody looking to purchase a projector needs to be following this guy. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into reviewing these projectors

please dont ever stop doing this...we love you and appreciate your professional and unbiased reviews. We just ordered the Valerion Max....which won't ship out unti around May...but we can't wait! We got in the kickstarter at the very beginning and really glad we did.
@The Hook Up, thank you again for your hard work and thank you for helping me decide to order the NexiGo TriVision Ultra. Shipments should begin at the end of November🤞👍
Do you think you'd be able to review the valerion fresnel screen? I loved the screen shoot out you ran, and I'd like to know how valerion's fresnel screen for a long throw set up would stack up against the competition, especially against ALR screens from Screen Innovations
I was also waiting for this video! Thank you for placing the C1 against the Mars pro2 and thank you for including a Rainbox Effect and Laser Specle review also! great
I backed the Valerion on Kickstarter, but I picked the Max model, which is a step up the range from the review model. Hopefully it outperforms this model by a fair bit, which would make it absolutely worth the purchase price, especially as I'm getting a 120" ALR screen and some other extras for less than the retail price. Looking forward to delivery in a few months. In the mean, I'm working on a 11.1.4 audio system.
I also received mine yesterday and watched movies until morning! Dolby Vision in 4K looks amazing. The brightness of the image is overwhelming in a positive sense. The pre-sale price for the quality and what the projector offers is unbeatable. Enjoy yours one!
How does the Valerion as a lifestyle projector compare to classic projectors such as the Epson EH-LS12000B? What do you think of the image quality, brightness, color fidelity, etc.? Is the Valerion "a giant killer", or is it more on par?
"Classic" projectors are long (distance) throw to a screen. Lifestyles are just an evolution of those. All of the quality measurements are comparable and can be exceeded depending on which specific projector you're comparing .
Well I pulled the trigger and preorder the NexiGo TriVision Ultra 4K Tri-LED-Laser Projector ,the preorder price 1099.00 and all the features that include made to final upgrade over my Dangbei Msrs Pro version 1
@TheHookUp thanks , you review comparation help me a lot to decide . I now the Valerion is the one that everybody want to have but I think for the price and the quality product from the Manufacturer like the Aurora Pro this projector will be a Hit
Heard a lot of noise about the Valerion and it seems like it's holding up. Kind of like how people who pre-ordered their Nexigo Aurora Pro's for $1700 when that showed up made the smart choice then, it seems like Valerion is the way to go.
The Valerion is giving you great contrast without a colour wheel. The better contrast USTs suffer from rainbow effect which, in my opinion, isn't worth it. That said the Valerion is made by AWOLs engineers and the Vision Pros have EBL. No idea if the performance difference is a better algorithm they could update the Visions too or if it's just better hardware that might be included in the upcoming Vision Max and they're just keeping quiet about that for now until they see how it performs here. So personally I'm waiting until the dust settles and the Vision Max is out and reviewed.
Thanks for the great review, I have ordered the Valerion! QUESTION: What screen to you recommend for the Valerion? It will be ceiling mounted and fixed. 130" screen size. Thanks! can't find much conclusive info out there
Okay my nexigo tri vision ultra came today. I took down my pj40 and installed the new tri-Vision ultra. Just watched top gun Maverick and I have to say as much as I like the pj40 it's comparing apples to oranges. Thanks for the advice. I purchased this projector based on your commentary and the fact that you said it was the best bang for the book is the reason that I purchase and I am completely satisfied. It is a game changer. I love the backlick remote and I actually did an unboxing video. I just don't know how to upload it yet. I ordered mine on the 11th of November and it came today so a little bit over a month I would have had to wait for the Valerian. Maybe another 3 weeks but impatience got the best of me.
You should make a website where users can select two projectors and see see the side by side video playbacks. I am trying to decide between two Nexgo projectors. Triviaion ultra and aurora pro. I understand they are different kinds of projectors but I mainly am curious which has the better picture in dark room and ambient light.
I had gotten the Nexigo with the pre-order price. It just arrived yesterday and holy cow IT IS AWESOME. Even at it's regular price, it's very competitive.
I hope Valerion expands into Europe and we will see similar projectors around that 3k eur price range. My biggest problem is the lack of service network and parts for such projectors. It mops the floor with Epson, JVC, Sony and Optoma. But those brand are super dominant here and very easy to get.
Absolutely stellar video, thank you so much. One thing I would have liked to see mentioned in the Misc. section is each projectors support for ARC or eARC. It matters to me for the proper audio hook up. Thanks.
I will tell you something for the others you tubers tech Projectors reviewers : This how you made a projector review !!!! Learn and apply next time to your review . Congratulations you're are the best out there ,thanks for your hard work 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'll be purchasing the Hisense C2 Ultra soon, but as I live in China it only costs me $1500 USD so that seems like a great deal. Glad that there's so much competition going on in this space though, as when I eventually upgrade in a few years, what will be available then should be absolutely amazing.
About 2 Month ago you highly recomented the BenQ TK 710. For sure it's not in this video because it's not a "all in one/ lifestyle" Projector, but where would you rank it just by picture quality to these 9 projectors?
Took the leap into the cold water and ordered the Valerion Max on kickstarter, with the ceiling mount and 2 additional 3D glasses. It was awesome to hear that we get the gimbal stand and two additional 3D glasses as well. I am really curious if there is an actual difference between the Pro 2 and the Max, since we sadly have to wait until May for the Max to be ready.
Thank you so much Rob. After watching other reviewers saying how good this projector is, I was still skeptical until now. Kickstarter order placed through your link above.
Great comparison. I was only waiting for your review. In for a Valerion Pro2 absolutely nothing can touch it at this price break. Well maybe the Valerion Max. 😊
When showing the roundups at the end of the testing phases, it would be so helpful to include the prices next to the projector names. Keeping all those in your head with this many products is tedious. Otherwise, amazing comparison and please keep doing these as you're one of the best!
I just picked up the Hisense C2 ultra. I have a basic motorized 100 inch elite screen. Is there a specific screen material you would recommend to get the best black levels?
Just as everyone and you yourself already know it, I'll say it again: you are by far the most experienced and valuable expert for projectors. Big thanks for that! However, I'm stuck in a small luxury problem: I have a 65“ TV wall-mounted for daily viewing and searching for a floor rising screen + projector for watching movies, games, sports in dimmed/dark or little ambient light conditions in my living room. For me it would be possible to mount both an ultra-short throw projector or a normal projector on the ceiling. My main desire is a floor rising screen + projector of the best possible quality for the money. Would you say that a Valerion Max/Pro 2 + Long Throw Floor Rising ALR (Cinegrey 4D, Vividstorm S) offers comparable quality in my use case compared to a Nexigo Aurora Pro + UST ALR screen? What would be your advice? Do you know whether some other maybe cheaper ALR floor-up screens will be coming out soon? Or whether Valerion or Awol will release a new UST with EBL technology or update their existing USTs with the EBL? Thank you in advance and for your effort!
I have basically the same setup. I'm currently using the Hisense PX3-Pro and a 120" lenticular ALR floor rising screen. I'm not sure I'd recommend using a floor rising screen with a ceiling mounted projector, I think you're in for a world of headache aligning those properly.
@@buddylove6850 Again, I use that setup because it's my living room and in no way light controlled. It works great despite all the ambient light. I would not expect the Valerion to perform as well in that situation.
What makes a projector a "lifestyle" projector? I assume marketing nonsense that adds words to make a product more appealing? Anyway, I was looking for a projector so your timing is excellent and effort much appreciated!
"Lifestyle" projectors generally have a few characteristics in common: 1) More stylish looks, not white/black rectangles like typical home theater projectors, the idea is that they don't look as out of place in a living room. 2) Better built in speakers for people who want to use a projector without a separate sound system. 3) Higher performing auto focus and auto keystone to make it easier to set them up and take them down repeatedly.
@@TheHookUp Allright, thanks for the quick reply! I understand that there is a market for that specifically. In my current projector the auto keystone is the first thing I disabled. It makes it more work to set up but it is better for the picture... I do wish more projectors would offer lensshift but that is something I rarely see with projectors that are not intended for a dedicated fixed setup. Aside from that, these features are nice to have for what I intend to use it for: to bring with us on holidays. Bringing a projector on holiday at first seemed a bit excessive but turned out to be really nice. We no longer have to squint at a tiny tv in the opposite corner of a hotel or appartement room
What models of Screens would you reccomend for day & night time viewing with Valerion Pro? Do you think it's worth to buy for it the Fresnel ALR Screen offered in bundle pack at Kickstarter?
Whaoo you put the Nexigo TriVision Ultra preorder at 1.099 US at second overall place , and for me that looking for a good performance and price this projector is a really good alternative over the Valerion
How perfect is the timing?!! I'm ready to upgrade an old Sony Bulb-based projector in the family room, and this drops today! Went right over to Kickstarter and placed a pre-order! It says there are only 55 pre-orders left, just FYI.
Another great video! Do you know if the Hisense C2 Pro offers two "zoom" settings? I currently have a Epson 5050ub. I have two buttons on the remote that I have set to zoom sizes. My screen is a 2:35 format so for movie that are that size I can just hit a button to zoom in for those movies or hit the other button to go back to 16x9 for sports and so on.
Would you recommend the Nexigo (1099) over the N1S (899) or GV50 (699)? Don't plan on watching on the ceiling. Almost exclusively onto an outdoor screen.
I had to chance to have a look at the Valerion during the IFA Berlin. It was just mind-blowing! I am not interested in a projector but if you are, it is a must-try!
As usual! Awesome review. Does this mean that the Valerion Max will theoretically be a better projector than the nexigo Aurora pro in terms of picture quality, 3D and gaming? Thanks
Pretty sure it will be better in 3D since the Aurora pro has 2600 ANSI lumens and the valerion visionmaster pro/max both have 3000 ISO lumens, which translate to 3500 ANSI lumens. For 3D, the more usable brightness, the better the experience.
Valerion it is. Instead of the boxy "lifestyle" designs I hope they release a dedicated home theater design with a centered lens in the future and with even better native & dynamic contrast. Then call it the "Valerion Black Magic" line. EBL is Valerion's voodoo.
Valerion Vision Master Max or Hisense PX3 Pro. Which one would you pick for best pic quality and viewing experience? Picking between the two. Thank you
Really want to know this as well! Especially since according to his measurements the PX3 Pro is significantly brighter (3478 usable vs 2453) and also has more native and dynamic contrast. The numbers indicate the Hisense should be much better, but he definitely praised the VisionMaster Pro2 more within its category.
@@nanfad X500i doesn't have a similar form factor at all, it looks like a traditional projector (a large white box). X3100i is also not good at all compared to these. It's 900/1500 native/dynamic contrast. X500i and TK710STi would be decent comparisons.
Wait half a year for the Valerion Max, or would it be wiser to get the Hisense C2 Ultra now? If I can wait half a year, then in another half year after the Max's release, a new Hisense will be out. Which will probably be better than the Valerion.
Wow your testing has become so comprehensive! I love that you do P3 and Rec709 color accuracy tests now. Do you think the projectors were so inaccurate in P3 because they are actually targeting Rec 2020? I'm shocked at how inaccurate the Valerion was on that test.
hmm at 12:33 the XGIMI screenshot you've provided, looks like most of the errors are from slight undersaturation (which makes sense with the gamut measurements from that projector) but provides some evidence against my initial thesis. What about the others?
excellent review as always! The one we have all been waiting for!! Can't wait for my Max now. But i think i would also be very happy with the Pro 2 at this point haha. The wait is gonna kill me :D Keep up the good work, mate.
Well I think OP means that every reviewer has praised the Valerion to high heavens and if these people are already impressed, you can bet normies like me will be blown away.
Thanks for this comparison. Given that in the UST comparison you recommended the Hisense Px3 Pro and here the Valerion, which one do you recommend for someone who has the flexibility of choosing one or the other adapting the room? Thanks PS just got an idea. What do you think about making a comparison video of the winner of each comparison category (ust, lifestyle, long throw..)? That would be fun..
I would get the PX3-Pro and an ALR screen if you're planning on watching in a room with ambient light, Valerion and a woven white screen if you're going to watch in a dark room. I already made that video this year: ua-cam.com/video/NCfnwnLk8Yo/v-deo.html
Thanks so much, your videos are awesome, I am a first time buyer and have to move very often due to my work, I was thinking of buying the Nexigo Aurora Pro with the first anniversary sale, but I never was convinced because it's too big, and also didn't want a screen, then the Trivision pre order started and I was immediately convinced it was a better option to me, and after watching your video honestly I didn't see big differences, I'm guessing in reality it's much clearer how the Valerion visually outperforms the Trivision, I was thinking of ordering the Valerion Pro 2, but ended up pre-ordering the Trivision, because for the Valerion I didn't like at all the Kickstarter message of prizes not guaranteed, even if it's a minimum risk, and also because I saw the max which is better than the pro 2 for only 100 more dollars, but the max wasn't an option for me because in May I don't even know where I'm going to live. So my decision was Trivision, because of timing, size, and maximum value for price.
Let me get this straight. The top two projectors you recommend are actually not production models. How do you know that the final product will be anything like the demo units you got?.
Especially with the Valerion model, which is their top of the line, you have to ask yourself: If they are able to make one projector with this performance, why wouldn't they make them all with this performance?
@@TheHookUp Because manufacturing a few for professionals to test is not the same as manufacturing them en masse for the rest of the public. They are interested in their product selling well. The doubt is there

20 minutes in so far, seems like the Mexico or Valerion are the way to go. Thanks so much for the detailed video!!!
@@TheHookUpwith the Hisense xp3 pro how does the picture compare to the valerion?
@@buddylove6850 Again, I use that setup because it's my living room and in no way light controlled. It works great despite all the ambient light. I would not expect the Valerion to perform as well in that situation.
What makes a projector a "lifestyle" projector? I assume marketing nonsense that adds words to make a product more appealing? Anyway, I was looking for a projector so your timing is excellent and effort much appreciated!
"Lifestyle" projectors generally have a few characteristics in common:
1) More stylish looks, not white/black rectangles like typical home theater projectors, the idea is that they don't look as out of place in a living room.
Whaoo you put the Nexigo TriVision Ultra preorder at 1.099 US at second overall place , and for me that looking for a good performance and price this projector is a really good alternative over the Valerion
between EF22 and Dangbei Atom which one is better in image quality and contrast?
How perfect is the timing?!! I'm ready to upgrade an old Sony Bulb-based projector in the family room, and this drops today! Went right over to Kickstarter and placed a pre-order! It says there are only 55 pre-orders left, just FYI.
They have "run out" a few times. I think every pre-order batch just gets a different delivery date.
@@TheHookUp Thank you!!
Assuming you are talking about the TriVision ultra? Yes, it will be significantly better and brighter than the N1S or GV50.
I had to chance to have a look at the Valerion during the IFA Berlin. It was just mind-blowing! I am not interested in a projector but if you are, it is a must-try!
I need a projector with the Valerion's performance that I can mount to the ceiling in my theater room and replace my old BenQ 1080p projector.
Valerion can be ceiling mounted.
EBL is Valerion's voodoo.
exactly, and throw ratio like 1,2 to 1,8
wth is EBL?
@@Everything_Comes_And_Goes enhanced black levels
These are great reviews but do you have a review of the high end AWOL projector?
Valerion Vision Master Max or Hisense PX3 Pro. Which one would you pick for best pic quality and viewing experience? Picking between the two. Thank you
Really want to know this as well! Especially since according to his measurements the PX3 Pro is significantly brighter (3478 usable vs 2453) and also has more native and dynamic contrast. The numbers indicate the Hisense should be much better, but he definitely praised the VisionMaster Pro2 more within its category.
Thanks
He does it again! I've been putting off buying a new projector until this review came out.
How do you ceiling mount the Hisense if the gimbal can’t come off?
The middle of the gimbal has a 1/4x20 mount, the gimbal stays on.
Why did you not include either of the benq Benq X500i or X3100i since they did so well in your last review as great all around projector?
Because they are not lifestyle projectors.
@TheHookUp they have the same form factor and similar pricing. How are they any different other than a lack of Dolby vision ?
@@nanfad X500i doesn't have a similar form factor at all, it looks like a traditional projector (a large white box). X3100i is also not good at all compared to these. It's 900/1500 native/dynamic contrast. X500i and TK710STi would be decent comparisons.
Wait half a year for the Valerion Max, or would it be wiser to get the Hisense C2 Ultra now? If I can wait half a year, then in another half year after the Max's release, a new Hisense will be out. Which will probably be better than the Valerion.
Ahhh- the age old question- I ordered the Max. There will always be something down the road.
You deserve a lot of subscribers. Atleast a million to start with. So much efforts into each videos❤
Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you! You are a GOD in the product review space… I’d give you a thousand thumbs up if I could.
excellent review as always! The one we have all been waiting for!! Can't wait for my Max now. But i think i would also be very happy with the Pro 2 at this point haha. The wait is gonna kill me :D Keep up the good work, mate.
Not sure what's more impressive - the performance of the Valerion or the fact that it's a Kickstarter project that actually delivers!
@@nathanddrews that happens a lot, to be fair. Companies just use it as an interest free loan lol
The kickstarter hasn't delivered though. Still in backing phase
Well I think OP means that every reviewer has praised the Valerion to high heavens and if these people are already impressed, you can bet normies like me will be blown away.
@@zS39SBT4fe5Zp8Qyes their goal was 50k, they raised 10m and still aren’t delivering xdd
Nexigo it is for me! Excellent review! I used your link to the site. Hope you get some recognition for creating such a helpful review!
Is 13:07 labeled correctly? You say the epson has a flat and uninteresting image but that doesn't seem to be the case in the video at least
Yes, to me the Epson looks like it's got a white layer over it with 1% opacity. The black levels are raised and the colors look washed out.
Thanks for this comparison. Given that in the UST comparison you recommended the Hisense Px3 Pro and here the Valerion, which one do you recommend for someone who has the flexibility of choosing one or the other adapting the room?
Thanks
PS just got an idea.
This was the review I've been waiting for.
Us too
Thanks so much, your videos are awesome, I am a first time buyer and have to move very often due to my work, I was thinking of buying the Nexigo Aurora Pro with the first anniversary sale, but I never was convinced because it's too big, and also didn't want a screen, then the Trivision pre order started and I was immediately convinced it was a better option to me, and after watching your video honestly I didn't see big differences, I'm guessing in reality it's much clearer how the Valerion visually outperforms the Trivision, I was thinking of ordering the Valerion Pro 2, but ended up pre-ordering the Trivision, because for the Valerion I didn't like at all the Kickstarter message of prizes not guaranteed, even if it's a minimum risk, and also because I saw the max which is better than the pro 2 for only 100 more dollars, but the max wasn't an option for me because in May I don't even know where I'm going to live. So my decision was Trivision, because of timing, size, and maximum value for price.
Now how does the valarion compare to the nextigo pro??
Let me get this straight. The top two projectors you recommend are actually not production models. How do you know that the final product will be anything like the demo units you got?.
Especially with the Valerion model, which is their top of the line, you have to ask yourself: If they are able to make one projector with this performance, why wouldn't they make them all with this performance?
@@TheHookUp Because manufacturing a few for professionals to test is not the same as manufacturing them en masse for the rest of the public. They are interested in their product selling well. The doubt is there
Can the Valerion project onto the ceiling from a nightstand with the stand?
With the gimbal stand, yes.
@thehookup which short throw projector should I buy that compares to the black levels and picture quality of vision master pro 2?
i would pledge the $ for the Valerion on Kickstarter but the thought that it is possible to not even receive it scares me.
