How did the Hyundai Ioniq 5 score lower in the AEB test than the Audio E-tron? The Audi E-tron killed a cyclist.

Ao meu ver o sistema de proteção ainda deve e pode melhorar muito . Deveriam fazer com que todos os air bags estourassem ao mesmo tempo . Ao meu ver novamente , a proteção do lado direito de quase todos os modelos ainda deixa muito a desejar . O air bag traseiro ainda é insuficiente e principalmente do lado direito do carro . De qualquer forma já é um grande avanço ! Pena que muitos desses carros não estão de acordo com o poder aquisitivo da maioria das pessoas .

In a certain way, those tests are good, and also a curse. Because, if you want to comply with them, you can't build light, monocoque cars that comply perfectly with electric motors. You need to build the type of semi-quadratic thing with 500 kg of captors that will do well in the euro ncap.
weight is actually beneficial in accidents. Heavier car will allways do better against a lighter car.
@@GabrijelPezelj Yes, and they will kill through their consumption, that is never taken into consideration when testing them. A ULC has a much lower footprint that an SUV, will required less maintenance of roads, less construciton induced pollution, less running induced pollution.

These ratings are whacky...the Polestar gets a pedestrian safety rating of %80 despite hitting a walking pedestrian while the Tuscon gets a %66 while hitting no one...? If you hit someone it should be an automatic failure.
Maybe it's because it has features that lower impact in g forces. But yes, it shouldn't be that high if it hits pedestrians.

You have hit the nail on the head with long journeys with an EV vehicle that has limited range, EV interstructure, compatibility and I feel cost to use them to, other fuel system work seamless and that is were the problem lies, UK Government needs to sort the basic out before enforcement of movement to EV for people.

Why don't they launch them at 90 km / h instead of 60? Let's see how they would really look in real life, since they are all very fast vehicles and at 60 they never go in an accident ... at 90 they should.
At 90 most of the cars will not provide the safety in case on an accident
not to mention people typically brake before an impact
this 60 really means 100. because what it crashes into is stable and doesnt move. in real life whatever u hit absorbs the impacts and moves

The failures from the test make me feel uneasy if they are not removed swiftly with collisions we have seen .It creates a false safety for the driver.

I find this tests a false sense off safty! Actual speeds are mutch higher on real life!! Do the tests at 70,90 or 120km/h, i will bet that the results are way more dramatic.

Someone else could just come of his/her lane and hit you frontal, you never know and you're never a 100% safe.

I wonder why the front windows shattered on some of the more expensive cars, do they not have laminated side windows as standard? I'd expect an EQS to come with laminated front windows.
Also you can clearly see the structural integrity of electric cars being far superior, especially in the side pole tests

As in aviation safety standards for cars should increase, almost every car here scores 5 stars which shouldn't be the case, cars are newer and safer, star system based on early 2000's cars sample size don't work, even shitiest car from 2022 can reach score higher than best car from 2002, leading to that every car gets 5 stars.
