And there are a LOT of people that will NEVER believe him to be innocent. Not just "not guilty" but actual innocence. He will have to live with the stigma for the rest of his life. Moving away might help, but the Internet remembers everything and employers do background checks. $90K restitution isn't enough for the lifetime of damage she did him.
How fucking dare you. So the penalty for lying is rape? You are an idiot. As if it's the first time anyone in the history of humans has lied, oh and I guess in your world men don't lie? You are a disgrace!
The argument is nonsense as well... It's like saying: We shouldn't give murderers a harsh sentence, because then it would discourage other murderers from admitting their crime!
It harms victims to have harsh sentences "because false accusers" wont come forward. Witnesses that overheard a friend talking about her "false accusation" wont come forward knowing that friend will be hurt. And victims of actual rapes wont come forward because fear of getting prosecuted. Its tough call personally I agree that sentences should be harsh. Personally I think as much time as him "labeled as a felon and a sex offender" pretty much forcing them to tell neighbors all future employers (spouses) that they ruined somebodys life as part of staying current on sex offender registry. Along with repayment to him for his lost time wages/education everything paying for any therapy ect he may need. And the debt should have compounding interest (because lost time wages damages every second he is not repaid in full is subtracting from his future/potential at a compounding rate)A four year late start is essentially stealing your highest earning years from you.

+Gracie newsome Except - if you give her a big punishment - other liars will not come forward. The real issue is the guilty until proven innocent, and the fact that she had her mother chase her until she caved - and pointed a finger. It should require a lot more to get a conviction - in the first place.
"Except - if you give her a big punishment - other liars will not come forward" Oh that makes it all okay then, let her go and make sure she accuses again.
Jame Gumb Not at all, the real issue, is that it should require more than a transparent lie to get a conviction in the first place. I think the issue here, is that false accusations which can be seen through, need to have real consequence on the front end. Start by making it clear, that you will suffer real consequence if we can establish you are liar on our own. The issue of just charging in the UK with a waste of police time, is well outrageous. The essential complete lack of consequence in the US, Canada, and Australia, is even more so.
Jeff Jones Part of the problem, is that we keep looking at these things as different things, but they are the same. The frequency of false accusations will perforce grow as it is made easier, and the consequence appears to be non existent. The pressure against real sentences for the accused even in cases where there is clear evidence, will grow directly with this perception that a large chunk of the cases are BS. The process needs to be clear, the deliberate clouding of the issue in Colleges needs to stop (where sex initiated by a woman after a couple of drinks is not a rape of that woman, although campus surveys are counting it that way). The Brock Turner case, well, he was caught, witnesses etc. If the case is strong, well then so should the consequence be. However, this case and that relate, only in that to the degree we let women like this (and most face no consequence) make false accusations and allow the basic idea of rape to be diluted, we also make punishing real rape harder. The idea that men cannot be sexually assaulted needs to end, the idea that unwanted verbal contact is an assault, that a woman who initiates sex, is the victim needs to end. This in part so that cases like Brock Turner's are taken with the seriousness they deserve.

The problem is not about if women would be afraid of admitting their lies but it's about the lack of proper investigation and putting an innocent man behind bars with no evidence but a woman's accusations. In this case(with no harsh punishment) the opposite would be also true, that women won't hesitate accusing men falsely just to get some money or to get revenge of them for a personal reason. I am a female University counselor and I can tell you that this happens a lot. A boy and girl may have a consensual relationship often initiated by the girl herself. But later she claims she regretted it. Or there was no relationship at all. In all cases, the boy is sent off the college or even prosecuted criminally when a girl complains. The boys are simply defenseless. I hope there will be a reverse #MeToo and name and shame the women/girls who are abusing their privilege

Bottom line: stay single, and in ANY interaction with women always assume she is lying scum and protect yourself accordingly

Hello Helena, what moves would you suggest for the equal rights in criminal accountability? Lighter sentences for women is nothing new, do you think it's about time we put an end to giving women the kids gloves?
jar head John, don't you think we should start treating guys like this one I'm responding to without kiddy gloves too? I mean, he can't even organize his own protests and petitions. By the way, in response to what measures should be taking, exactly that. Do what I do. When you see yourselves thrown under the bus, go there and protest, goddammit. Women receiving shorter sentences is another sign of inequality and every one of those that falls. So, in this case (sentence length) you are the marginalized group and you should definitely do something. I fully support this cause, will sign a reasonable petition and go to a protest if it's in my area. But you have to get your asses moving instead of sitting there complaining.
I wouuldn't call it loaded, it puts the ball in your court and asks for your opinions. I also acknowledge that we give women lighter sentences, which has the drawbacks of inspiring more repeat offenders among women because they know the justice system has extremely soft fangs reserved for them, especially if they're pregnant, like the one who ran over a mail man and got six months. That's the kid gloves I'm talking about, not some random nobody who is mean to you on the internet. That's just life. People yell random things at me from cars about once a week. The guys that might be mean to you may be black, and I assure you, black men are not treated by kids gloves by the law system.

I’m actually sick because of this, here’s a list why: 1: The guy got convicted with no proof, no rape kit, no witnesses, nothing. 2: It takes the woman 4 years to admit that she lied, 4 years is a high school lifetime. 3: The woman was convicted and sentenced to 2 months in jail, only served on weekends. No, it doesn’t send that message whatsoever. Because if a woman really wanted to send a guy to prison as vengeance or revenge, she would just do it and she would never confess. How often do you see a woman come forward admit that she falsely accuse the guy? Virtually never. Just my word vs hers. No polygraph test offered. Hey story changed three times. I’m wondering if they just always side with the women. Because my case was cut and dry and obvious but apparently didn’t matter how innocent I was. How she couldn’t bring any proof but her lies. And still side with her. Just wow. This happens to women every day. It’s not a joke. And the women who do have it happen to them should be pissed off at the women who abuse the system and falsely accuse being sexually assaulted. It wouldn’t feel like justice in one way, but another way it would absolutely feel like justice. I would be grateful to this woman. She never had to come forward and my son would’ve served out the rest of his prison sentence, if it wasn’t already over, and he would live the rest of his life classified as a predator and never be able to go to college or have a good career and would always be looked at as horrible. And also you would never really know if your son was innocent or not. I think a lot of parents would say they know their son is innocent, but that’s a lie. They may feel it in their mind, but they’re wrong. Many people commit other crimes and their family never sees it coming. I always think about dateline specials (Or whatever) when they say they never even had a cross their mind and their family member committed a crime or murder, and I always think that’s ridiculous. Anybody is able to do anything. If someone said my grandmother committed murder currently or when she was younger, I would know it could be possible. Anybody is capable of anything, might not be likely but it is possible. So you would never really know if your son was innocent or if he was lying and going to the grave with his lie.
I know that it is not justice. I am a mother of both boys and girls and a university counselor. The amount of hatred boys get from the media and policymaker is really crazy. A man faces detention even if the case is false,🥶 because police may detain anyone for two weeks, without any explanation and without any compensation, just to investigate the case in isolation. It is sensible to keep the accuser also in isolation (read police detention). I think those women with a real case find it worth it, and such isolation makes the cases less complicated. 🎃🎃🎃A lot of rape conviction is based on just a message to a friend that I am raped or a friend testifies that she was crying. I always tell my daughter not to go to dangerous places and don't interact with perverts and nothing will happen.

soo, if I understand her lawyer correctly, give a light sentence so that other people that have committed the same crime as Elizabeth Coast will be more likely to come forward and admit their crime. You can apply that same logic to all crimes, if someone has committed murder, give then 6 months of community service, therefore other murderers will come forward and also admit guilt to their crime. Also, I'd be pretty insulted if a judge thought my life was worth roughly $19,000 a year.
I understand your example, but you’re obviously missing a huge part. Murderers are usually caught, this woman never would’ve been caught. It was the lesser of two evils.

+Gracie newsome Except - if you give her a big punishment - other liars will not come forward.
The real issue is the guilty until proven innocent, and the fact that she had her mother chase her until she caved - and pointed a finger.
It should require a lot more to get a conviction - in the first place.
"Except - if you give her a big punishment - other liars will not come forward"
Oh that makes it all okay then, let her go and make sure she accuses again.
I just watched a vid about Brock Turner getting out already. Now I see this. I'm really trying to understand the rage swirling in my head right now.

Some will comment but no actions, such as protest or petition, will be made.
jar head John, don't you think we should start treating guys like this one I'm responding to without kiddy gloves too? I mean, he can't even organize his own protests and petitions.
By the way, in response to what measures should be taking, exactly that. Do what I do. When you see yourselves thrown under the bus, go there and protest, goddammit. Women receiving shorter sentences is another sign of inequality and every one of those that falls. So, in this case (sentence length) you are the marginalized group and you should definitely do something. Are you kidding me? 2 months?! This man lost years of his life. And their concern is that this will give the wrong impression about coming forward with the truth? Absolutely ridiculous
2 months and only has to stay in jail at the weekends.
👩⚖️ ~ The judge made the right sentence. Do you want the next guy to never get out of prison because the next woman (aka Amber Heard) that falsely accused him is unwilling to come forward? I guess that’s what you want. Punishing this woman may feel like justice, but it does nothing for any other men who are falsely accused. Had this woman been caught by police, then give her five years or more in prison. But she came forward when she didn’t have to. Nobody suspected she was lying. If this woman is crucified the you doom the next man that could get out of prison because the woman comes forward voluntarily. So which is more important, vengeance or overall justice.g
Welcome to female privilege.
@@iMatti00that’s a bullshit excuse it should be innocent until proven guilty not believe all females from the beginning
@@iMatti00had the sentence for false allegations been more severe then she would've given it a second thought.
the moment i saw her I knew he was an innocent man....
And this shows the level of contempt the state has for men.
She should be locked up for four years as well.
This happens all day, and everyday in child custody cases as well.
Think about all the other men that might be in prisons due to lies! It't good she got off ez in the way that more might come out and admit lies so the innocent men can get out. But fucking hell still the guys life got ruined cos of a single lie sickens me any human can do this...
i doubt it. The people that did this are clearly ethically/morally compromised and broken in the head. They will not ruin their own lives and come out even for the light sentencing.
ImAnderZEL no it isn't good she got off easy
It's actually fucking terrible she got off "ez". You realize sociopaths make such decisions based on the risk, right? So if they see that they can ruin someone's life without consequence that's pretty much a green light.
hey a youtuber I watch also likes to rage about bullshit on the internet!
no...any woman can do this
How does he actually go to jail with no evidence?
stupid jury.
Women play the pity card pretty damn well. And I find it absolutely sickening.
She should pay 1 million and serve equal amount of time!
She needs to go to jail for the same amount of years or even double the years that he lost. Also any person that makes a false allegation towards any innocent person plus restitution & all legal fees should get sentenced as well.

@@iMatti00By chance are you a Democrat because you don't seem to get it.
Yet, if you even question someone claiming to be raped, people criticize you for "victim blaming."
"How dare you question the truthfulness of this traumatized woman?!"
"Because sometimes bitches be lying."
GIVE HER 10 YEARS!!!
2 F... months to be served on weekends. Plus 90k. What a joke. She should serve at least the time the poor innocent guy was sentenced to. We need to lobby government's to change the laws and courts to be tougher on these evil monster's. Lock that F... cow up for 25 years.
The judge should be disbarred.
The biggest question here is why was he sentenced in the first place?
Because hes a men thats the sad truth the law is against us
Why did the court find him guilty if it was a “she said, he said” situation. That shouldn’t be enough to send someone to jail
I'm guessing they were messing around at the time and when she accused him they took a semen sample and the rest is history.
@@Heed2070 That doesn't make it any better. There's still literally no proof and it's still a he said she said thing. Nobody should be able to go to jail just because their partner changed their mind AFTER the fact and that's not valid proof. Better a guilty man go free than an innocent one rotting in jail. The guilty man can always be caught and jailed later and monitored closely but the innocent man can never get his life back.
He may have only spent 4 years in jail but it's the prime years of his life and he misses out on 4 years of school, what's his option for schooling now, sit in class with middle schoolers when he's supposed to be a senior? Those allegations are always going to follow him around, people will always doubt and second guess if he actually did it, not exactly a good idea to put him in class with "kids" and he will be bullied in school, maybe not 'purposefully' but people will gossip and stare and start a million rumors. People do not recover from allegations like that meanwhile she'll spend 2 months in a cushy jail cell allowed to go free on weekends, basically just getting to skip school and she'll be met with comments like "you go girl" while getting patted on the back for "doing the right thing". The double standards are real; male victims don't even get justice when they have all the proof in support of them, women only need their word.
@@DrakeOola I agree with you one hundred percent. I was just pointing out that it was just that easy for her to win the case at the time unfortunately.
He probably didn't ask for a Lawyer before his Police Interrogation and so they likely asked him complicated questions to secure some sort of confession or at least make his account seem doubtful.
Its why no matter what, even if you're innocent, you always get a lawyer when questioned by police.
They should have gave her the same sentence that he was given. This is ridiculous.
This is some bs she should get 5 years and have to pay him 100k at least 🤬
Are we gonna talk about the fact that you can spend 5 years in prison *for a crime that never even occurred?* What actual, tangible evidence was the DA relying on???
1:30 that is the most half assed apology i've ever seen.
I thought people were innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Since that's the case how did an innocent man end up being convicted and sent to prison for that length of time if they weren't able to prove him guilty since he was innocent and now have to rely on a lying victim confessing to a lie? "The System is a joke" Smh.
@EMANUEL, It happens more times than we know. Sad, so very sad.
Hopefully she will have a civil suit against her for ruining this man's life !!!
This is disgusting. How about the guy that was sent to prison for 4 years?
2 months on weekends for nearly 5 years in a row? Where is the uproar here for "equality"???
His life is ruined anyway! The 90K wont help either!
This not only shows that men are treated unfairly in the court system, but it also makes it difficult for women who are actually being abused.
It does NOT make it harder for them to be believed. If lying women were punished properly there would be less, and it would be EASIER for victims to be believed
Hopefully someone gives us some real justice with her.
the guy who she accused, would be an ideal candidate. would they believe her the second time?
doesn’t that send a message that you can falsely accuse someone of rape and make them serve 5 years or more in prison in exchange for (in the worst case) two months of weekends in jail? There are tons of women out there who hate their exes so much they would take that deal in heartbeat.
You damn skippy!
What if i tell you that i would take it any day of the week .
No, it doesn’t send that message whatsoever. Because if a woman really wanted to send a guy to prison as vengeance or revenge, she would just do it and she would never confess. How often do you see a woman come forward admit that she falsely accuse the guy? Virtually never. Only time it’s ever possible is if she gets caught and she’s afraid of the consequences so she goes ahead and admits guilt. But who just comes forward completely on their own? Basically nobody.
@@iMatti00 Because the justice system is a joke and enabled this deceitful behavior. But it sends a strong message that if ever you try to falsely accuse a man and you get caught you'll be dealt with severely.
@@georgenuamah2424- But you have it backwards. This woman was not caught. That’s the difference. If someone is caught lying, then a severe punishment is more than warranted. But if someone comes forward to clear someone’s name, and you punish them severely, nobody will ever come forward again.
WHAT SICKENS ME ABOUT THIS IS THAT SHE RECEIVED A SLAP ON THE WRIST, HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT.
Her lawyer said it would be a wrong signal to punish her hard. This sentence DOES send the wrong signal: do whatever you want, you will not be held accountable. He spent 4.5 years, she should have gotten 9 to sent the right signal: "dont fucking lie to ruin someone else's life".
"My life was ruined by it." Lol, no it fucking wasn't. "I lived in a prison in my mind," don't even dare compare yourself to what he's endured.
"Patriarchy" "Male privilege"
"Before you get sentenced, what would you like to say to Jonathan?"
*Smirk/eyeroll*
Queue rehearsed bs response.
I think that says it all right there.
like she got cheating on a spelling test.
Well, there you have it, ladies... you can ruin a man's life and all it'll cost you is 2 months, served at your convenience. This made me sick to my stomach.
Is that what this crazy broad gets for sending an innocent man to prison for close to 5 years? That's really protecting the rest of us from similar injustice!
That is just disgusting. She ruins a life and gets a slap on her wrist? 2 months? Served on the weekends? They are treating her like a child not doing their homework. It is basically just grounding her on weekends......
I don't wanna live on this planet anymore....
I’m here because it happened to me. I was charged a bogus charge because my ex is VERY vindictive. I had to search to see this happen to someone else. I didn’t get time but I have a record now. Completely innocent. A story made up and she gets her way. Seeing me miserable and innocent. Don’t fuck with her is her mentality. And it still gets to me. Zero evidence because it was staged.
It’s not a club to join nor a Badge of honor.
Women who do this are sick and twisted and never get punished. Two months? That’s not justice. We need change in the system. This is not right. It’s in humane. Guy best be a millionaire right now to make up for the f up the justice system gave him.
@justin, I'm truly sorry this happened to you. You are right that all who participate in injustice like this need to be held accountable. Voting is one way to get corrupt politicians out. It still doesn't take care of those who falsely accuse people. Their day is coming.
Imagine if that was your son. And this is the "justice" You receive.
She should be given 5 years; that's what she deserves.
2 months served on the weekends, what the fuck? So i guess perjury is no longer considered a serious crime, Unbelievable. This woman should of gotten 2 results in book. 1. Serve out the remainder of his sentencing, and also pay him the money. Or 2. Serve as much time as he did in jail, and pay him the money. Unbelievable, this judge is shit.
Her and her lawyer should do 4 years+
He would still be in there if she didnt confess to her lies. There are lots of men in prison right now that wont be so lucky.
There’s a lot of men that get away with doing bad things to women because it goes unreported.
Ikr sad
OMG I had to watch the video twice, couldn't believe what I was seeing and then the court abused Johnathan for second time, unbelievable
Why aren’t any women outraged about this?
She just fucking sat there with a smile. "Oh I know I sent a man to prison for 4 years and literally ruined his entire life, but I was in prison in my mind, is that not a worse fate?"
She (if she even was) a prisoner in her feeble mind is inexcusable. She has bought this upon herself, this is of her own making here. Now, to add insult to injury, now serves a mere two months after this poor man serves 4-5 years for a crime he didn't commit. This says a lot about this so called justice system. Feminism at its best.
@@rome79735 Yeah but tHe gEnDeR pAy gAP... Speaks miles when she can smile after ruining an innocent mans life and only get a slap on the wrist while being patted on the back for "doing the right thing"
No, I don’t think she really sit there with a smile. A lot of people smile when they’re nervous. Often when I am crying or about to cry I smile or try to make a little joke to stop myself. Even in the most dire situations. And you could also just be misreading her.
soo, if I understand her lawyer correctly, give a light sentence so that other people that have committed the same crime as Elizabeth Coast will be more likely to come forward and admit their crime.
It was the lesser of two evils.
judge probably awarded such a SMALL sum of money because of the "wage gap"
People think because they’re sorry that it erases everything! I’m shocked that she got a slap on the wrist! Unreal
He got 5 years...she gets 2 months. Disgusting favoritism. 🤮
"Her word against his"

Been saying it for years. Our justice system is so fkd up!😡
She deserves 8 years
2 months in jail, are you fcking kidding me?!? He got 4,5 years, and she should have got at least the same amount of time behind bars.
"She has to make a restitution of $90,000." That's it. This guy better sue. What a terrible, terrible ruling, I hope that city gets rid of that judge.
