      Two years to clear his name is obscene at fourteen years of age. One can only imagine the psychological damage inflicted. How could it have taken two years?
      Be sure to issue a Subject Access Request at both the Police National Computer and the local constabulary from which his case was handled. Find out exactly what has been written about your son. He has the right to “erasure” under the Data Protection Act and there is added emphasis to minors in this respect. It is crucial to have anything pertaining to this abuse purged, otherwise decades hence this will appear on a DBS certificate that could ruin his life chances. He’s done nothing wrong, but the personnel at the DBS are nasty, they will see it as their mission to destroy your son’s life on this basis.

      As a low status man you always have to watch your back in terror because any woman anywhere can just make up false claims against you.

      @natelincoln 9 місяців тому +75

      Yes but perjury charges aren’t near as damaging as false accusations. That needs to change. Whatever the prison term is for the alleged crime is what the liar should have to serve if found to be lying. Remember not often do we hear of these people who were innocent as much as the charges first reported. So even if completely innocent the social consequences they face can stay with them for the rest of their lives. People will always be questioning about it as well. The damage this can create is huge. Also when the accuser is found to be a liar it makes it more difficult to believe victims as well. It’s just disgusting and unforgivable to lie about someone doing any kind of harm to you. I get that everyone lies from time to time but if the lie can ruin others lives that should be treated the same as what they accuse the other of doing. If you wouldn’t forgive and forget a rapist then liars who accuse other of rape shouldn’t be forgiven either.

      You'll notice not many care in these threads ( which is understandable ), but the amount of women who are ra@ed & the offender's never get brought to book far outweighs this. It doesn't make it any less of an issue for the men wrongly accused, but there's something just too easy for men to be accused & named & shamed while the accusers stay anonymous.
      It should be law that until it goes to court & is dealt with that both remain anonymous.
      My nephew actually was locked up on remand for an accusation & only was freed because the girls own father said it couldn't have happened because he was with her on time of the day. She got a caution....unbelievable!!!
      It is just as horrific for an innocent man to be accused as a victim to not get justice, IMO.
      Much more prevailant these day's than when I was a girl, but maybe it was under reported.

But even I know, we need legal protections for victims, if they don't exist then an even higher amount of these sorts of crimes will go unreported. I agree with your first statement, but think the false accusation can be a lot worse than the actual grape. The victim goes to prison and essentially loses the rest of his life as a free man. He could be graped many times during his prison stay or even murdered. After he gets out (if he does) he has to register as a SO and everyone would be assuming that he's a monster for the rest of his life. For a guy in that situation, he could suffer every day for the rest of his life. I can understand why many falsely accused men ultimately take their own lives.

    • @sapete1936
      @sapete1936 4 місяці тому

      @@LukeJaywalker-c8t all the consequences of a false accusation that you mention most definitely also apply to the genuine victims of these awful assaults. Their lives are effectively ruined by serious mental health issues and often will have to attend therapy sessions for the rest of their lives. There are also examples of many of them resorting to that “final” solution, so I cannot agree with your assessment that either situation is worse than the other, however I still believe that neither of them receive the punishment they deserve.

    Its the same situation in the U.S., tons of bogus sex assault allegations on practically a daily basis. My friend was accused of rape when we were teenagers. The girl in question was not raped, she in fact willingly had sex with him like 5X in a single day, was laughing and giggling the entire time. Her story quickly started to fall apart after both myself and her own friend told the cops it was all a lie. She then admitted she made it all up, was charged with a felony for falsely reporting a crime that never happened. But all too often people are convicted on hearsay, its disgraceful. If someone claims they were raped, DNA evidence would easily prove whether or not it actually happened or not. No one should be convicted with no evidence, its just lunacy. Either something happened or it didnt.

    Heart wrenching cases 😢! My heart breaks for Jay's family. I was genuinely relieved when Liam's attorney had the backbone to ask for the evidence she asked for that ultimately proved his innocence. And Ashley's accuser evidently chickened out after successfully hurting him deeply. This stuff is real folks, and it's happening everyday to young people and older ones too. And it's truly devastating to be falsely accused of anything, let alone something like sexual assault. I know these young men's lives have been forever changed, the ones that lived through it at all. There will always be trust issues and anyone can understand why. It would be my hope that they would take action to bring awareness of these things to others. Perhaps younger teenaged boys could be warned by actual former victims of false accusations and really have a positive impact. Knowledge is power and armed with knowledge and armed with the truth, one can succeed and maybe leave their world a bit better than they found it to be for them. Liam and Ashley, stay strong, live strong, learn what you can from the injustices you yourselves suffered and turn it 'round so that it is a positive, not a negative. 💙 🙏

      OMG another insurrectionist. America and Britain are two different countries. You don’t know how lucky you are. Britten is connected by land to other continents and have a very different problem there. Rapes are much more common there, it’s hard to know who’s lying when there’s 60k recorded assaults. Americans are making their own problems and shitting their own selves. No common sense here. And false reporting is on much smaller scale. What we do have, is more killing of our own than any other democracy. Britts didn’t sell their souls to the devil, they have more common sense and don’t choose guns over kids. And nvm assaults, they aren’t even allowed to buy American meat or dairy products. I know it feels good talking about problems we don’t have while ignoring the ones that we do. As a liberal, not Gen Z idiot. We’re common sense people and believe in borders and family values. I don’t know what’s happening all the way on the left with them terrorist supporters but the far right isn’t any different. I heard myself them singing “Jews will not replace us..” so when you lead country on hate, you get the results that we do. I believe in my bodily autonomy AND I believe abortion shouldn’t be an escape from responsibility. Should be used only when necessary. I believe that America was built by immigrants and that we should treat people humanly, but I also believe that borders should exist and the process should be regulated. I don’t follow anybody’s script. But I tell y’all one thing, WHEN this country collapses, you and I and all of us will be living in a twisted version of The Man in the High Castle, licking crumbs of the floor. Because y’all won’t be able to feed your kids with Kalashnikovs. It’s better to have a country that might need fixing, instead of have no country at all.

      “Believe women” is a norm put into place in progressive spaces to support victims in a world that generally does not support victims. It is not meant to be a fall back in investigative and criminal Justice arenas, and I don’t think it typically is. Victims of SA are denied justice in this world at a rate FAR higher than innocent men are falsely accused. That doesn’t mean false accusations aren’t a problem. They are. But it’s a big mistake to see it as either/or: Either listen to and support accusers OR listen to and support men who profess their innocence.
      As I said, “believe women” has a place in the discourse, in certain contexts and spaces. “Believe women without question, always and no matter what, even in criminal investigations” has NEVER been the message.

    These cases remind me of the case of Andrew Malkinson who was falsely accused and falsely identified. He spent 17 years in prison although police had dna evidence of another man. He has never received compensation for spending so long in prison when the police had evidence that he didn’t do it. The poor victim thought her attacker was behind bars but he wasn’t and still isn’t.

    The girl who accused the 17 year old who killed himself should have been prosecuted. She is absolutely responsible for his death.

    Liam's case never should have even been prosecuted. If the prosecutor's cannot see through a false allegation that Public Q can easily see through, they do not need to be prosecuting anything and one can argue they shouldn't even be attorneys.

    Those women who actually get caught should serve the same sentence the judge would've given the innocent victim! So appalling!!!

      Ah mate I wish, unfortunately the police have a new policy where they can’t take action unless it very clear that the accuser lied.
      This is to ensure women/men who have been sexually assaulted actually speak out and don’t feel like they can’t.
