- If you want to upgrade Husqvarna 372 to have captive bar, nuts this mod if for you! The clutch cover off a 572xp will fit you 372. The Husqvarna clutch cover with all of the internal parts is 575 23 59-07. The outer spike kit part number with hardware is 590 26 10-01. The drill bit size I used is 11/32’s
I bought the west coast saws clutch cover with captive nuts. Nice upgrade

@@Sensei948 yes i try to keep them as stock as I can. If I need more umph I grab a larger saw. But for the work i do running ported saws would just send me down a rabbit hole that I don’t yet want to go

They have a dog that goes on the bar studs on those newer clutch covers no need to drill hole plus the dogs are different sizes
Can you tell me the part number and are they genuine Husqvarna or aftermarket?

The correct drill bit is 5mm
I understand your a hobbiest that's cool , I make a living on a power saw and ill tell you first hand I'm not a fan of the captive nuts there a pain in the ass

The 550 mark 1 clutch cover is magnesium
When I drilled mi e to install aftermarket felling dogs mine was plastic
@@n3qdz On the cover it will have ''MG'' stamped into it meaning magnesium, so will the 572

Where did you order your felling dogs for the 572xp
I looked everywhere and the only ones I could find are the bar nut mount ones and then you lose the captured nuts. I custom made some out of the 562 dogs. Little grinding and a drill a couple holes. Hardend still is tough to drill but it can be done. (Carbide masonry bit)
