    I’ve done this repair on 2 different rsx within 2 weeks. Took me about an hour each time with bleeding and clean up. If you take off the top coolant line on the heater core control you can slip the line right out after disconnecting the 2 clamps. Take off the metal clamps by bending them apart and take them out before the line because they get in the way.

    What if there’s no visible leak the reservoir is the same level. It’s just the whining noise. Could that be the power steering ?

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  2 роки тому +1

      Great question, it could be that the power steering pump has gone bad. It will usually whine when you turn the steering wheel. If the whine is present without turning the wheel and if it gets louder when you rev the engine then I would run a charging test to see if the alternator is working. Hope this helps. When there is a leak, the pump will usually whine when the system is low on fluid. If you top off the reservoir to the max line indicated on the side of the reservoir, usually the whine will stop.

    For the power steering fluid, is there a difference between the PE and non PE versions?

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому +1

      To be honest I’ve never known that there was a difference, however if it’s for an Acura or Honda, I would use Genuine Honda power steering fluid or at least power steering made for Hondas and Acuras, hope this helps 🙏🏾

      Yes it does, it’s been perfect since install. No more issues with the power steering after installing the power steering hose

    Bro where could I get custom parts for my rsx

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому +1

      Kseriesparts is a good source, K-tuned, and Hybrid Racing are all great sources for aftermarket parts. Mugen makes some great aero parts for the RSX as well and DC5Creations makes some great wide body parts! That’s just a few lol. Are you going more for performance or style? Or both?

  • @jimmikatt
    @jimmikatt 4 роки тому +2

    I did the same as you, ordered the wrong part.. on CARDiD, they say fits all RSX, but after watching your video,
    and asking about the part number, they do have it, but it's not listed. BS if you ask me, now i have to wait to return it, and order it again.
    Do not order your PS pressure hose from CARiD, they do not have a choice to select between Base or Type S models.

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  4 роки тому

      Slimjim I’m so sorry to hear that brotha! That’s frustrating especially once you’re mid way through the job! When we fixed this RSX we finally found the different variations for the Base and Type S on Rock Auto! Hope that helps man!

    • @jimmikatt
      @jimmikatt 4 роки тому +1

      @@Scubah Yeah.. I should have gone through Rock Auto, but live and learn, since CARiD has the part, they will send the right one. Car is still driveable, but i need to fix this leak ASAP.

      @Scubah  4 роки тому

      Slimjim I hear you man! I say the same thing, you live and you learn but at least like you said it’s still drivable and hopefully they can get it sorted out sooner than later for you!

    Where can I go to buy power steering pressure hose

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому

      Base Model Pressure Hose -amzn.to/3buBktF
      Type S Pressure Hose- amzn.to/2OFSPwZ
      You can purchase them from these links. Remember to just make sure you order the correct one since the part number is different between the base model and Type-S. Rock Auto is also a great source to pick one up. Hope this helps!

    How to u get the s2000 seat up in there?

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому

      That’s the RSX Type S seat, it looks pretty similar though 👍🏾

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому +1

      If you wanted to swap to S2000 seats you’d probably have to swap the SRS system to the JDM one and I believe you’d have to run custom rails. I’m not sure if anyone has a kit that would work out of the box

    Im hoping i can get away with just taping a crack in my rubber hose section

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому

      Zen33 If the crack is small enough, tape might work as a temporary fix. Just keep in mind that sometimes the leak tends to become worse over time as the rubber breaks down and the tear becomes bigger! I hope it’s a smooth process for you once you decide to change it! 🙏🏾

    The sunsong part sucks so fucking bad. None of my brackets line up

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  3 роки тому

      Hmm, that's weird, is the part number correct? We swapped the brackets from the old power steering hose onto the new one as shown in the video. It was a simple swap from the old pressure line to new pressure line.Or if you were referring to it lining up in the car, the pressure hose has to be routed the same way that it prior to it being removed from the car. Hope this helps!

    • @huedoan8955
      @huedoan8955 2 роки тому

      I tried the sunsong part and it did not fit the power steering pump on Acura RSX 2005 Type S. The port is too big. Had to get the autozone duralast brand part number 92159.

  • @RXMO3
    @RXMO3 4 роки тому

    Im pissed i ordered the wrong hose because of this video. the ‘base model’ hose is the one i need for my type s. Amazon even says the ‘type s’ one doesnt fit my car and the ‘base model’ one does. Trusted dude over amazon, wrong move :/

    • @Scubah
      @Scubah  4 роки тому +4

      sterling elliott base model is part number 3401231, type-s part number is 3401232. I clearly stated that in the video and even clearly stated that there’s a difference in bolt sizes at the steering rack. You can also check other reputable sources such as RockAuto to verify this. If you need a base model pressure hose for your Type S, then it’s possible that your rack was swapped or that it’s not a Type-S. Many other Type-S owners including a type S owner who also commented on this video, Slimjim, can attest to this point. Sorry that you ordered the wrong hose but I can assure that you ordering the wrong hose has nothing to do with me or this video.

      I think the link u put in the description is wrong for type s. The part # doesn't match on the pic u can look it up there no sensor plug for 3401232(type s) but the 3401231(base model) it has sensor plug n it say doesn't fit ts but somehow it fit for ts Someone f up the input on Amazon lol 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
