Just fit a pair of calibers from a Alfa Mito tb/Fiat 500 abarth. A straight fit without any modification or branket/spacers. But only 305 mm and use 305mm disk from gtv v6 with brembo.

I’ve just done this conversion so a few tips for anyone considering it. The bolts needed to mount the caliper are M14x1.5x40mm. If you use the heat shield you will need to cut a small piece of it so it doesn’t sit between the caliper and adapter bracket. The clearance is also very very tight with 330mm discs so chances are you will get some rubbing if you’re caliper shave been recently refurbished with powder coat.

That metal shroud isn't a stone guard, it's a heat shield to keep the heat off the rubber boots on the ball joints and to direct some air to the disc.

I find that cooking oil is great for getting the grime off my hands after working on my bike's oily bits. Any oil will do. I use coconut oil because that's what's in the kitchen. You'll have to clean the washbasin afterwards too just to stay healthy, if you know what I mean.

Hi, first of all thank you for sharing this video. My only doubt is which braided hose brake do I have to buy. My gtv is an 1.8TS 1998 phase2. Thats the only part that I haven´t buy yet and not install the kit, to not have to stop the car twice and redo the oil brake bleed. By the way... also which oil brake did you used. Thank you

@@ItaliaAutos would you consider a 1996 an older one? Mine was an after facelift model, with the new sterring wheel snd new front grille. The brake kit came from a scrapped 3.0. Probbaly the difference is linked to the fact that we changed (used donors’ part) the frame where the caliper are bolted on; you used an adapter to fit the calipers on the original frame. Probably thats the key

Re gloves...I wear mechanics leather ones, not much loss of 'feel' as the leather is thin and they last for ages before wearing through and protect your hands from sharps better than latex. I'm not particularly worried about the grubbiness, more about the alleged carcinogenic properties of all that oil, grease and muck.

  • @marcbrasse747

Do you know of people actually coverting the braking pads to make a calliper fit to a different size brake disk? I've done it to one of my motorcycles. Basically it is a matter of trimming the braking material off the pads where they do not touch the disk surface because this would turn them into restricting stays when the rest of the pad wears off. That might sound like lessening the total surface area but in this case it enabled me to replace a former single calliper assembly with a 4 calliper one. The gain in breaking performance is marked without any negative side-effects like increased fading! The only real downside is that I now alwys have to retool new pads to fit them to the vehicles unique specs before I can put them on.
