I remember Bob Stallings in the 1970s when I was training at Gleason gym on west 31st in manhattan. He was a humble respectful man and he taught me a few things about boxing. He was championship material. Legit boxer and an exemplary human being. I was just in my teens but I never forgot my conversations with him. Much was learned, thanks Bob!
I became a boxing fan after the first Frazier/Ali bout. Stallings, alongside so many others from that time period, was so experienced and tough in a colorful era of heavyweight boxing.
Wow!!! Thank you for shining some light on this forgotten brawler!! I really enjoyed hearing him in his own voice & I’m eager to hear more! Salute to Mr.Stallings
I believe Willie Stallings was Bob Stallings brother. Willie was a terrific fighter that should have went far in boxing. He was a nice guy and I hope he is doing well.
Was expecting Bobs Boxrec Stats to be more impressive after Seeing This . He won 32 , Less than half of which were Stopages. And He lost 31 Times, of which 7 were stoppages, including amazingly Stopped by Jack Boddell in 1966 😮
Thanks for the interview !...I saw him at the old Ice World in Totowa , NJ...I think he KO'd a fighter named Mike Tarasewich...T'was a loooooong time ago 😅😅😅😅😅

Do you all recall the picture where Bob is looking at Ernie as if to say “Are you OK?”, before beating Ernie.
Unfortunately, I do not. We searched a lot of photos for this interview, but didn't come up with that one
Very informative and entertaining biography.
Few remember that fight. Bob excelled.

Should have asked him to compare Earnie shavers punching power to George Foreman and another unknown puncher Mac foster .
We were always told the Rocky movies were inspired by Ali vs Wepner. But it was Stallings vs Wepner? Really?
Some even said it was Sonny Liston vs Chuck Wepner
Or George Chuvalo v Ali 👍. Or Tommy Morrison v George foreman 👍
@@john-bo9ve Or Fury vs Ngannou
