I met Ray in San Francisco in 1988 at US Olympic trials, spoke to him on way out of the venue after his win, and never forgot how accommodating he was to talk! THANK RAY 😊
Other then Tua, probably the greatest HW not to win a belt. However, he won a WBO belt which today would recognize him as a HW champion. He fought Holyfield and Lewis super tough and I thought he beat Lewis.

One of the toughest to ever do it, during a great era of boxing.
A real class act. Honest, precise, and to the point.. No slurred speech, no profanity, very clear and articulate.

He was a champion.
Boxing needs about a hundred more Ray Mercers. He has class and was a tremendous competitor in an era of excellent heavyweights.

It’s great to see Ray not showing brain damage. He had one of the best chins in heavyweight history so maybe that has something to do with it
