This old cop confirms what I n I have always realized and insisted. John Gotti had an electric presence with tremendous charisma. But he had one great weakness, his ego, which ultimately proved his Achilles heel. The mob revisionists who idolize John Gotti refuse to acknowledge this fatal flaw, which a few, like Sammy Gravano, recognized, exploited, and used to outwit him in the end.

Just finished Mr Eboli’s book it was terrific. The only part of the book that was incorrect were the pages that said Rocky Marciano was a marine who fought on Iwo Jima. Rocky was in the army, stationed in England, He was a terrible soldier who was court martialed for beating the hell out of two Englishmen & robbing them afterwards.

Wonderful stuff. But Gotti being intelligent...😅 Also there is a lot missing here. Like the way Gotti basically took down the family, by bringing everyone connected to the mafia to the social club. The commission trial was only possible, because of the bugs they had installed in the flat above it, and all that John Gotti said on those recordings. John Gotti single-handedly took the five families down. If that's intelligent I don't know...

Thomas "Tommy Ryan" Eboli was the "front boss" of the Genovese crime family, but he wanted to become the official boss. He allegedly borrowed millions from Carlo Gambino to start up a drug business, but the business was shut down by law enforcement. He couldn't pay Gambino back, and he got whacked because of it.
