Love it when you’re better half is in your post Miss mine So much she would shoot with me a lot married 30yrs before she passed Still hurts
So sorry about your loss!!!
A good wife is hard to find, glad you had yours for 30 years, sorry for the loss. Enjoy the memories.
Wow, that’s got to be tough bud. I’m at 26 years with mine and I can’t imagine life without her.
Always will
A Women that will stick around for 30 years
And after that the man still misses her
That was a GOOD woman
You were a fortunate man
Women aren’t the same anymore
Be blessed brother
Condolences brother
Excellent how you get your wife to shoot during your reviews & ask her feedback. Gives a better overall rating of firearms IMO.
I like hearing your wife’s opinion, maybe have her shoot all the micro compacts in one video for a women’s opinion on what she likes best and why, it would help my wife a ton
I second this.
that is a very good idea indeed
My wife has to have the right color. Teal purple or pink.....and a safety
I second this
You probably already know this but getting her hands on the gun before buying can make it way easier to decide
Somewhere along the way you (and your wife) have slowly and quietly crept up to becoming one of my very top favorite actual real shooting reviewers rather than mere hot new gun presenter.
Well I did it. I got the shield plus. Then I won a cheap auction on a max-9. Took both to range. I ended up keeping the Ruger and selling off the shield. First time I fired the shield plus, I was pretty impressed. I never cared much for shields. But I liked the groupings and feel of the max-9 better. That takedown pin is nothing really, didn't like that about the Ruger. But it was simple to takedown.
God help (or not) any active shooter within 100 yards of this man. What a shot.
Macho man living on hollywood fantasies
@@jakeb8298 u good?
Have you seen all that steel clustered together on his range? Even a miss will still ring steel
Thanks Outlaw for starting the day off right!
Mrs. Outlaw color matching her nails to the steel targets is a nice touch.
Mrs. Outlaw is doing some mighty fine shooting and gives a good review for someone with small hands. Good review, as usual. Thanks for the insight from both of you.
Stop talking about another man’s wife - it’s rude & it makes people feel like they can’t trust you .
Got to get up pretty early to catch the outlaw.
I start work at 4 am. I always look forward to a new Outlaw video at 6:30 for my first break.
Longmire 👋
Thanks for sharing. Outstanding seeing two different shooter's view. Also how each person prefers different color on sights. Very informative.
I’m glad Ruger upgraded their compact series, my wife loves her LC9s Pro
I just found you on UA-cam tv by accident. You are the most knowledgeable, no BS gun guy I’ve ever run across. Thank you and keep up the good work!
You will love the content here. All the videos are like this one. Good info, good presentation, good production. “Honest” opinions, and this guy even supports homeless kids shelters. 👍
Great review man! I’m not a big fan of the newer Ruger pistols so this was a very fair depiction of what the gun is capable of. I’ve Been watching your channel for a long while now and I can see that Mrs Outlaw is getting really good with her shooting skills. Great work gang!
I’ve been a Shield owner for many years but but the bullet when the P365 hit the market for capacity. I’ve never shot it as well as the Shield but did ok. I bought a Plus the day after it was released, took it to the range with my wife and ran about 300 rounds. She liked it so much we bought a second one for her and ran 300 through it. Love it, the Plus is a winner! I’ve owned a Ruger LC9S and didn’t keep it very long so I doubt the Max 9 will be a consideration for me now. I started carrying the Shield Plus immediately with the P365 getting cased. Some say S&W is late but since it fits all holsters and aftermarket parts, it’s a no brainer for me. It costs a little more but look at the savings for current Shield owners who don’t have to buy new holsters, lights, etc.
I truly appreciate your reviews , even when you don’t necessarily like the aesthetics you point out reliability is good and point out how it may work for someone else’s stature. I also believe that another great thing to point out is the cold hammer forged barrel which is usually not included with lower priced firearms so I commend Ruger on that as well. Great review!
Lady outlaw shooting like a boss! Great vid! Definitely going to check out the M&P before the Ruger. Thanks again!
Suddenly I was recommended a bunch of your videos, and in particular videos that had to do with the Taurus G3C, and after all our research and solid reviews I went and purchased one! Definitely earned yourself a sub
I actually picked up a G3C as well, liking this over my G43X & P320, crazy. Saw too many good reviews on that pistol, 1 here, 1 on Hickock, and a local guy did a 1,700 round review on it. Plus I got the TX22 and loved it.
This shield looks pretty good so far.
Man I love the start of your videos when you're shooting, you make it look soooo smooth!!👍🏽💪🏽
I like that you had your wife shoot it and give her opinion. It’s great recognize personal bias. I guess that’s what makes you an “honest” outlaw.
Another great Team Outlaw review! Always love both points of view. Thanks!
I was in the market and just picked one of these up for a great deal compared to all of the others on the market. Lots of name brands but every Ruger I’ve ever had my hands on was a good shooter.
I was thinking it and then you said it. Mrs. Outlaw does have very impressive recoil control. Love your reviews!
Good job including the wife in your vids. My wife is much smaller than me (similar to you guys) and needs that critical second opinion from a fellow female 👍
Thanks for your review. Enjoyed the video. I would like to extol the virtues of Ruger’s Customer Service. I can’t speak for Springfield or Sig but I’ve had excellent customer service and response from Ruger. Which begs the question in a perfect world you shouldn’t need customer service at all. But I had a non-repairable issue with my original LCP Custom and had had the gun for several years. I sent the gun into Ruger for inspection and repair and they could not repair it. Not only did they replace the gun but rebuilt the Custom which wasn’t being made anymore. Sorry for the commercial but they were that good. Thanks.
Love the vid. Keep up the great work 💯👌🏽
Must be nice to have your lady able to hold your six if ever needed. Love your channel!
Love seeing you and the wife both try new firearms. Slowly getting my lady into shooting. Her grouping with a rifle is way better than mine. Keep up the awesome work
Go girl 🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like her review. I LOVE my Max 9 and I'm 6' 5" with large hands (I have the magazine extension on all of my magazines) which allows a full grip. My range practice with it convinces me it is an exceptional pocket pistol. It will be my concealed carry for the foreseeable future...
Enjoyed the review. Mrs. Outlaw, thank you for sharing your perspective.
Thanks HO. Great job. Good info. Thanks Mrs O. Great job.
I picked up a Shield Plus a few weeks ago, I had previously decided to buy a P365 until the Shield Plus dropped and I’m glad I picked it. The trigger is a HUGE improvement over my M2.0 full-size and my Shield2.0 40. It would be cool for you to get out all 4 guns and do a side by side unbiased shoot comparison to see your speed and accuracy back to back.
Your wife seems like an awesome person. You’re a lucky guy 👍
Cool to hear both perspectives
I don’t run optics on my pistols, but it is all the rage now and it’s nice to see manufacturers produce what the market wants.
The Ruger Max9 is a fine little pistol, imo. I know they’re not really considered as “professional” grade manufacturer, but I’d put a Ruger up against anything. I don’t see this as a budge gun at all!
If someone doesn’t want to spend professional grade prices and wants to buy a solid gun made by a company that actually stands behind its products, Ruger is for you.
I like that you include your wife's opinion in your reviews, especially when it comes to the budget pistols. Very important that people have several well informed opinions prior to purchasing what could be their first firearm. Her opinion is especially important to those "normal" sized peoples watching. Good job !!
So nice to see Mrs. Outlaw!
I think you’ve become my favorite channel to watch for stuff like this. I used to be pretty heavy into some of the other gun channels (which are still good channels), but you cut right to the chase. The only thing about your channel I dislike is the fact that your shooting is so much better than mine
Thanks!
I hope I enjoy it as much as your wife does, I ordered it on her recommendation, so thank you. Being your neighbor yo the north, this quickly became my go-to channel for honest reviews. Thank you for that.
I’ve been carrying an LC9S pro for years and I love it. I like that this comes out of the box optics ready. Wish it had a little more capacity.
Your wife wishes you had a few more inches and a few more dollars. But that's either here nor there
Awesome video I just picked up a max 9 so far so good
The optics ready part is big, in my opinion. Also, it direct mounts without plates, etc. on the Shield pattern. I haven't gotten to handle one, but if it feels good to you, as was said in the video, there are a number of reasons to pick the Max 9 up. Great video, as always.
Still loving mine. CT1550. 200 rounds of blazer so far and a box of critical duty. It’s a thin as my MK9 1/4” longer and taller without the red dot. Love it
Another great review. Fantastic job, folks.
Got this from a friend, hogue grip & galloway precision trigger really improved the gun for me👍
Mrs. Honest Outlaw can shoot VERY WELL!
Thanks! I learned from the best!
Your a beast brother you been putting out killer reviews the last 4ish years I been watching you
I.. LOVED... everything about the Max-9... EXCEPT the trigger. Of all the 4 or 5 micro 9s out there it fit MY hand the best including the P365 and I am a Sig guy. I didn't like the long take up of the Max-9 but what REALLY bugged me was the almost 2mm sideways slop both to the left and right of the trigger. I solved ALL my trigger issues by installing the Maxxis Short Stroke Trigger from Galloway Precision. It has a wide, flat face. The take up virtually disappeared and the wall, break and reset are awesome. This simple to do $36 upgrade has turned the Max-9 into my EDC.
More than 1 car a hour, "What is this, Grand Central Station?!" 😄
Great video, you two. Thanks.
Enjoyed this review. I actually carry the Smith and Wesson Shield and have since it hit the market many years ago. Love the Shield Plus and will pick on of them up. I’m also thinking of picked this one up too. I have the LC9S and shoot it extremely well and don’t find recoil to be an issue at all so I’m looking to sell or trade the LC9S to pick up the Max 9. I also have small hands so I think that is a factor and likely why your wife shot it pretty well.
Two reviews for the price of one! I like that. As you indicated it really does come down to personal choice assuming equal reliability.
Never watched your channel before. Very much like that you included your missus to try the Ruger Max 9. She's about the same height as my wife who just picked up the Ruger Max 9. She pretty much echoed everything your wife liked about it.
I usually research the heck out of things before I buy them, but not my wife. So here I am trying to learn all I can about the Ruger Max 9.
I appreciate you taking the time to review it!
Ive grown to like your reviews the best. I like your honesty based on how you ahoot the gun and not on how much you wanted to like the gun or even how much you didn't like the gun. I also especially like how you dont talk down about safeties. You can either like it or not and then train. I like either Da/sa guns or a striker with a safety. Most other gun tubers like to remind everyone over and over they dont like safeties in an attempt i feel is to persuade you to not buy pistols with safeties. Now if they review one with a safety, tell me how it works and its design and i dont need to hear wvery time how they dont carry with a safety. So you are my go to guy
I got the max 9 and absolutely love it. Good video
Excellent. Been waiting for your review on this. 👍👍
Love Ruger. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
Thanks for another great review
I finally pulled out the Shield Plus and Shield Plus 4 inch, took them to range and shot them. Wow, what awesome guns. They make me question my EDC and favorite pistol type of 25-plus years.
I enjoyed the subtle compliment about your wife's accuracy, telling her she wouldn't need to reload anyway! It was subtle, and pretty clever to boot!
I love Ruger I have the lcp2, max9 security 9 compact all great guns
Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Outlaw! I value both of your opinions. I noticed no mention of the PIN. Out here I cannot find this gun I already picked up the Plus so I may have to wait a bit for this one.
I've had a Max 9 Pro for a few months now with a few hundred rounds through it, great reliable little pistol. Mine came without the thumb safety, I prefer that if I conceal carry. The front sight is fiber optic and tritium. The rear sight is blacked out but has a recessed U milled into it, just fill it in with white or high vis paint it will make lining up the sights a breeze.
awesome man. Think I'm finally about to trade in my gen LC9 and upgrade to the max9. It's been hard to let go of that little LC9 because I'm sentimental haha. Even with the shitty trigger I learned to shoot it well. I never even upgraded to the LC9s hahahah
Great commentary on the Ruger.
Thanks
That feeling when you’ve shot the p365 and the hellcat the 43, 43x and 48. About to buy yourself the 365. Then smith and ruger come with there offerings. Just gotta get my hands on them now. Sootch is right it’s the golden age of firearms.
Good honest review. Thanks.
You referred to the front sight as fiber optic. It is also Tritium, so it glows in the dark. Nice standard feature.
I carry this everyday with the Red Dot and it is an amazing CCW gun. They also make a Maxxis Short Stroke Trigger for the Max 9 that is amazing and inexpensive.
Perfect timing and thanks for sacrificing some ammo for our education
Super cool video sir! subscribed
The pistol freak back at it again. Awesome video.
Another great review! The wife's input actually is pushing me to pick up that Ruger.
You are one of my favorite guntubers. And I did appreciate the wives input
Great video. Your wife deserves a lot more credit for the outstanding camera work. I had a LCP9s pro for 2 years, sold it to a friend, and bought a P365. Never new how snappy the LC9 was until I met up with my buddy and shot it a year after shooting the 365. It felt like it was trying to jump out of my hand, lol. Sounds like the max-9 is about the same....
Yea, the 365 doesn't seem bad to me, so I was surprised to hear him say the Shield shot so much softer.
Your wife is a hoot and adds a lot of perspective. Thanks, appreciate your evaluation.
Glad to seee your wife shooting..it’s a great motivation tool to help me get my wife to the Range....good job..
Do enjoy your willingness to acknowledge your own bias/body mechanics, something a lot of shooting channels seem incapable of. Your Wife's input is also great as it gives that wider info pool to judge from.
One other feature I do like on the Max9 is the rear sight shelf allows one handed slide manipulation, if needed. An added dislike is the need for a punch for disassembly, though in fairness the need to tear down your pistol in the field, for a civilian? Kind of moot, but still wish it didn't need one. But hey, I got biases, too.
Thanks - just narrowed my next gun choices down to the M&P Plus, Walther PDP, and the Arex Delta Gen 2.
@Frank Bonazza IIII have a Canik TP9 Elite SC and love it.
Man outlaw always have the best videos 💯
Ruger handguns fit my hands: Blackhawk, Redhawk, SR9, LCP, LCR, Ruger "Luger" 22's, 10/22, etc...
And I've had good reliability from their pistols. But then, the Taurus PT111 and PT145 worked well for me too, the original double stack micro 9's and double stack mini 45's
Honest outlaw!!! One of my fav channels!!!!
Love my shield plus, but I will love this Ruger problably too.
Was thinking about getting the Shield Plus.... now I am for sure getting it.
I just recently got the ruger max9 with the Crimson trace dot already came with the Gun and I am shooting between 50 to 70 yards and is reliable
First off, I like Ruger and have several Rugers in my collection. When Ruger and S&W recently released their versions of micro double stack 9mm's with the Max9 and Shield Plus, my eyebrows raised. I could see in photos on Rugers website that the Max9 frame was modeled after their Security 9, not a deal breaker, but the ergo's of the Security 9 are nothing to get excited about. Even though I've carried a Ruger LC9S for over 3 years, (I chose it over the original Shield mainly because I liked the trigger better) I almost instantly found myself leaning toward the Shield Plus. Better ergo's, finally a better trigger and 1 more round in the mag. That was enough to finally sway me to the Shield...albeit the 2nd evolution of the original. I have yet to shoot my Shield Plus, but can already tell it's just a bit better than the current competition. Great review as always.
Both me and the mrs purchase the Ruger Max 9 for EDC and CC. Freaking love it.
Thanks! Always appreciate that the better half gets to shoot also and we get a second opinion or second perspective. How does it compare to the cheap G3C? JimE
I got one just last week and had mixed feelings the first day and did the same thing with the slide lock. My wife also loves it and wont even shoot the shield again. I have very big hands and feel like I don’t have the dexterity to shoot these ultra small guns well. I have got a little better with it and at 10-15 yds have gotten my group down to about 3.5 in. thanks for the video!
Good video!
Was wondering about it.
Not a Ruger semiauto fan really, but I was interested. Thanks!
*I said the same thing to myself about Ms. Outlaw shooting.
Super flat muzzle control!
Way better than 3/4 of the people shooting on the planet.
Keep it up.
Nice , you would think they all would come optic ready .. thanks .... amazing shooting, by the way... !!
I thought I was gonna hate this gun when I first got it because of the trigger. I really like the grip and the fiber optic sight though. And it shot great for me out to around 30-40 yards. The trigger to me wasn’t as bad as it seemed it was gonna be once I was shooting it. I have heard the Galloway trigger is the way to go. With a better trigger will be a great gun especially for the money got it around 330 transfer and all. You can’t beat that. Hoping to see a review on the cz p10m soon!
Good review
Green catches everyones eye better than any other color it's how our eyes work. I have the Taurus gx4 and shield plus I'm thinking of getting this max 9 to add to the collection too.
A hogue handall works great in small pistols for purchase and accuracy. Works wonders on a p365. Great video and shooting the Outlaw way.♠️☯️🎩
Hey Outlaw, love what you do & how tender you are to your wife. I know they are new but looking forward to you reviewing the Shield long slide. Kind of the Shield Plus XL. Lol! Keet up the good stuff.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Wishing you and your family a blessed and wonderful happy holidays. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Enjoy. Cheers. 🍻🥂🍺💯🙂👊👍🙏
Love when your wife shoots and gives her opinion!
I don’t always have my nails done like she does but I have small hands and I really appreciate her input.
Love my Max 9
First time seeing your lady shoot. Awesome stuff
This is one of the BEST hand guns I ever own. And it feels SOOOOOOOOOOO good IWB carry. This is definitely a good buy.
I do like how the max 9 feels IWB. I have the max 9 pro and it carries as well as my ruger EC9s does. definitely a good Pistol to have in the aresnal.
Ditto here. Large hands too. Perfect for me after adding Hogue grip.
PSA has it listed as their daily deal(6/4/23) for $270.
Great video! I have a an EC9s that I bought for $229 with all dark earth cerakote finish. Carry the 9 round mag as my backup mag. Max 9 looks nice but think I’ll stick with my EC9s for now.
You’re doing just fine with the EC9s. Just give the Max 9 some time, they’ll drop in price and have more customer feedback to guide your choice.
