I brought my bike into the my local bike shop it’s a 03 fatboy was a 88. First he did cams, tensioner air cleaner and a program. Was not enough pull for me so I dropped it back off and had him bore it out and do head work I want to say the bore n head work was just under a grand. Money well spent!!
Great video, I would probably take one off the shelf, but definitely add a good cam and head work. Don't forget to upgrade comp and clutch, oil pump ect. Hey foo see you next week!
I bought an 03 883 with plans to put a hammer 1275 kit in it which I bought a few months later when they had a sale. I would definitely buy another kit from hammer on a bigger bike. I'm all about the torque ,0-60 or 0-100 is where it's at im not interested in going over a hundred on a bike these days. I rode big bore sport bikes in my twenties like an idiot. More into cruising now with a few rips here and there
I picked up a "slightly used" 95" SE big bore kit with 10.5:1 compression pistons and added a S&S 510 gear driven cam set up on my 2003 Softail. Best money ever spent for some great power that's very reliable with NO mechanical issues whatsoever. Motor has 80k+ miles and she's still running strong!!

When I did mine I had to upgrade the clutch because the stock clutch wouldn’t hold the added torque the 95 inch kit had so make sure you upgrade your clutch
That's awesome! People forget those bikes used to be rode cross country! Today people think you can't do it unless you have a loaded out touring bike with a stereo. Don't get me wrong that helps but all you need is a windshield and some bags.
carburetor, my 2002 RK I did the 95" S&S 9.7:1 piston and cylinder kit and S&S 510 gear drive cams. I'm running a Ramjet one piece intake manifold, Mikuni 42mm carb, Supertrap 2 into exhaust and Thunderheart coil and ignition. I'm very happy with the performance.
Mine is a 03 FXD, 95 in. DarkHorse crank and H beam rods, Wood TW8G gear drive .590 cams. Mondello heads, 10.5-1 comp., DynaTek ign., Jetted carb etc.etc. Over 115 to the wheels and revs quik. I love it.
What's up mr .foo , I have an 02 road king with S&S 509 cams support plate and oil pump. I run a thundermax tuner . The local Indy took it for a ride and swore it has a 95 inch in it. I did my research and got the best cams for my application because I didn't want to pull the heads and change the springs for bigger cams. Bike runs absolutely flawless. 800 lb bike needs a torque cam to get her moving. She's real snappy and hits 80 really quick. My famous saying... Miles of smiles.... great stuff Mr Foo
That right there, your bike exemplifies exactly what l talk about the channel! Right cam, right parts and the right bike! I appreciate your support on the channel!
I have a carbureted 02 Electra Glide with a rebuilt Fueling component cam chest (hydraulic plate, tensioner shoes, high capacity oil pump, lifters) but I went with S&S 510 cams. The performance gain from the 510’s kick in at 3000 rpm’s. Or around 70 mph which is perfect for Highway cruising and passing. And that’s at half-throttle. I did this upgrade two years ago and it’s like having a new bike.
I've been running my 03 Road King since it was new. Installed 95 inch cylinders and cams, and pro pipe at 10,000 miles. Upgraded the cam chest as soon as the kit came out. Same with an ignition module. Been running it that way since then. It's no slacker....
I’ve had my’05 road king 88 for 10 years and no complaints. Had a Vance &Hines Pro pipe when I bought it ( hated the sound). Made my own pipes and baffles that everyone I ride with says sounds great, though a little crispier tone like my irohead with homemade exhaust had. Never did have it re flashed and it’s been running better than ever. I’m happy with it as is,not planning to build it up .
I just got a 2000 model carbureted Dyna FXDWG with 22,022 miles. The bike is in near perfect original condition. The Guy threw in 2 extra seats and Sissy bar pads. One is the original seat and Sissy bar/pad, a luggage rack, a new Front tire, tube and Rim band in the box. Also, He gave me the original exhaust, (it has Vance&Hines staggered Straight shots now), a new H-D brand bike cover, and a Service Manual. I think I got a pretty good deal. I plan to upgrade the Cams when it's time to replace the original Cam Chain Tensioner Shoes. Thanks for your videos and keep up the good work! I think I'll upgrade to SE Hydraulic Cam Plate Chest, High volume oil pump and "Off the Shelf" parts like you mention here.
@@superplumber5 - I already did. The shoes have minor wear on both of them. I removed and inspected the fuel petcock and fuel strainer. I removed and cleaned the K&N Hi-Flo air cleaner. I did a 3 hole oil and filter change. I'm flushing and bleeding the brakes now. Gonna take the front wheel to the shop in the morning, to have the new tire installed. Gonna replace the brake pads also. I'm gonna ride it awhile before I do anything else to it. It rides quite a bit different than my StreetGlide...
That's what l'm talking about right there, that's a sleeper! I didn't even go into 10.5:1 compression either, you and l both know what that bike is capable of 👍.
04 09 22 purchased a 2002 88 twin cam heritage. only 17828 mi. very clean scoot looks new. $9828.43 out the door. paid cash. It has a carb. I was a little bit shy about the 88. However the local wrench turner assured me the 88 is a good motor and says the same thing about upgrades that you say. Next winter going to turn this scoot into a beast. Thanks for your vids.
2002 was the last year of the timken bear and forged crank shaft. Make sure the cam tensioner system is upgraded and you will have one of the most reliable twin cams out there

Sent the heads from my 2003 fxstdse to JET in Rhode Island for their CVN cnc shrink porting. Used their jet velocity stack and kn air filter, Andrews 37 conversion cams with had newer hydraulic chains and adjusters had screaming Eagle oil pump and cam plate (upgraded cam bearing) with screaming eagle2 mufflers. Claimed 91 hp and 106 torq. This actually sounds conservative with what this video goes into. Did give it a noticible bump from the factory (with se 203 cam) set up.

My stock 2002 flhrsei with the 95 has always ran good enough for me. I have thought about cams and such, but I haul a pop up camping trailer with it, and has done well doing that for the last 20 years.
I used to have a 2002 FXDWG and did the 95” kit with stock heads and a jet jet in the stock carb. I did add the s&s 510 gear drive cams and that thing was a runner!! Never put it on the dyno but I could pull and carry the front wheel through 2nd no problem!
I'm with you on this one. I had a 95" Zippers torque king kit on my 06 street glide that worked very well. It was a little lacking in hp but had a ton of torque. Even on car motors I prefer a big bore over a long stroke, for the very reason you've stated. Also strokers tend to run hotter.
I finally got that hammer 1275 kit with the 570 cams and xb heads. Its way more rowdy and sounds different too. Tons of torque! Your reviews help me make the choice to go with hammer. Keep it up! Love the Harley performance side
Right on man.. I have an 88 sporty that I stuck a hammer 1250 with a set of andrews V2s in it last year. Has a set of 87 bathtub chamber heads as well. I could only wish to have some xb heads on this year. they don't run on first Gen Evo sportys. Not real sure why, not really researched it, maybe gixxerfoo knows lol. I know yours has to run like a scalded dog because mine does and not near what ya got on yours lol. Hammer Performance makes solid kits for sure and nice dealing with them as well..

Great video! Exactly what I'm looking for. Some good performance that doesn't break my bank! I don't need to have 10hp more for $2k-$3k. Around 100hp or just shy of it is enough for this old cowboy 🤠
This is exactly why I went with a 95" build on my Softail, shorter stroke, sooner powerband and not mention the con rod angularity thing. I went with S&S Super Stock heads with 1.94 intake, 79cc, SE flat tops and matching jugs and I guess that puts me around 9.75:1 can comp, Andrews 37g, Mikuni 42 and Bassani Pro Streets... don't know how much HP or TQ I'm making, but it sure does haul ass! You are absolutely right Gixxer, not to count out the 95"... great segment as always!!!
by the way i have the same parts except s & s pistons and 585 cams 10.7 compression. 100.3hp 150nm. the torque is in the upper rpms. Some day i test woods cams.
It also depends on how you ride. For instance some guys enjoy a sporty ride; high revving, speed cornering, high speed lane changing etc. BUT I just like getting up to the speed limit quickly without a bunch of high revs. SO I love a high torque engine that can effortlessly shove my fat ass down the road.
I bought a pair cylinders at a swap meet and had them bored while waiting for my heads to come back from branch flowmetrics ran their cam and pistons on my 02 fxdx turned a 10.22 on the dyno drags 107 hp 127 mph rode it 70000 miles with no probs
I would bore & hone the cyclinders to a set of Wiesco 10&1/2 pistons if you want torque use a1.900 intake valve & A 1.630 ex valve along with high lift springs if you want all out HP the intake valve should be a 2 inch .I like to use a head off a 2006 & up ( a lot less material to remove to make a good head . Cams should be 585 lift to 635 lift . Forget about woods cams every one of those has what I call the woods drop )they make the power for a short minute then the power drops off just when you want it to keep pulling ! Want even more bore the cases to accept 4&1/8 bore cyclinders for 107 cu in ! The 95 is my choice the 107 RULES ! Short stroke big bore !
Excellent content!!! My 06 EG classic has the SE Kit with the SE plate, oil pump, TTS Tuner, and Khrome Werks header and exhaust. My Dyno run had 92 ft lbs and 84 hp.. Your video could not have came at a better time as I'm looking to change the cam, and have some head work done. Looking to really see what I can really get out of my little 88!!! lol
Those really good numbers with a 88 honestly, you've got a great setup to build on. You put a 95 kit on top with a good cam and you'll have a whole new motorcycle. Great power and torque, best part is it will be reliable too. You'll be able to jump on it and go anywhere you want anytime.
I have a 06 Street Glide with the 95 kit with light weight/high compression pistons, an Andrews gear drive cam combo, polished and ported heads, stage 1 intake and PCIII tuner and it dyno tested at well over 100 hp and over 100 ft lbs torque. I can't remember the exact numbers but at almost 80k miles it is still running strong.
Thanks @GixxerFoo for this video. My 06 Road King with my 95” build is fun, and does alright with the bigger engines. The Feuling 543 Reaper cam is pretty stout. I run 10.5:1.
My 07 street glide has the big bore jugs, bored with a weisco piston 10.5 compression, ss ported heads with screamin eagle intake and throttle body tuned with a full true duel vance and hines exhaust and a custom grind cam. Its an absolute savage. Super super snappy. Eat 107's alive! Not even a match. It helps I've lightened the bike up some and I'm only 140lbs soaking wet lol
I have one of these in a 2001 RK. It was installed when the bike was new. I bought the bike wrecked with 25k mile - it sounded like the valve train would fail at any moment. Since then I've installed Feuling cam plate and gear drive tw-6hg (same cam that was originally installed, shimmed the rocker arm end clearance to under 0.010. Finished it out with Reinhardt tru-dual and a Ness super sucker. Ii have not had it dyno'd but believe it is over 100 hp. I also am disappointed with my 2008 SE 110 with the same set up. It's nearly putting ou 101 hp and 109 Ft/lb.
Im running a dave mackie megasphere 95, 10.5-1 comp, ported and polished heads 510 cams. Runs great but a coil/ignition with a bigger carb would complete it.
GOD BLESS the 95 " TWINKIE 🙏 MY 95 KIT WITH WOODS TW6 97 HP 110 TQ CARBURETOR PULLS LIKE a FREIGHT TRAIN S/S GEAR DRIVE STOCK CYL. ( MY STOCK 88 BORED OUT CYLINDERS WERE NICELY HEAT SEASONED for BORING ) V/H PRO PIPE
They don't build them like they used to is all l can say. Those 95's pull so damn hard from that 4 inch stroke, you ride a 95 like yours then jump on a long stroke 96 with a cam and you'll feel the difference. The long stroke is lazy compared to the short stroke.
Right on ; little monster - Got my pistons gaskets ready ; waiting on cyl boring . Going to change out valve guide seals while heads off . I went with cast pistons 10:25 to one . Cam should bring that down a bit . 125 psi on compression test with stock pistons right now . High rpm recommend forged . Well the new rage around here is electric bicycles. Bidenomics I guess with the gas prices I guess.😁 ✊🏻👍👌 thanks for the info 🙏 Not worried about sprocket bearing for hd when bigger and bigger with that same bearing . Fingers crossed 🤞-
I wish i would have realized that cams made such a big difference before.. once i had a broken exhaust stud on a 88… i took it to a dealership who ended up having to take the head off to drill out the stud.. i was mad because taking the motor apart costs an extra $500 in labour and they didn’t tell me until after they already did it. But they could have upsold me some cams at the same time and turned a negative into a positive… just shows how lousy of salesmen they are…. I ended up selling the bike a few years later because i wanted a faster bike.. now im wishing i would have just upgraded it back then.
I went with fueling 575 cams straight gear drive fueling cam chest oil pump and it helped it but when I did the 95 inch bore and the heads on it it made it a rocket ship
@@johnippolito2376 it's really strong right off idle all the way up through the mid-range that's why I didn't Port anything they just polished the heads up I love it
Seems about the right time for you to do a few vids on upgrading the M8 107. Everything from a Stage 1, to cams, to big bore kits. HD is starting to put them in the Softail frame, which means they're underappreciated & the time is fast approaching that the 107 will be disco'd.
A short stroke Twin as a Square Build ( 4x4 ) is a great engine for a light bike such as a Dyna or Softail riding locally. Without a doubt its a peppy engine and that 88in had the tried and true durable crank that was bolted together. But to say the bigger stroke engines are a bit slower to jump up and run as quickly isnt the case. The cams with compression dictate the peak torque and horsepower regardless of displacement. You smack the throttle on a big bore long stroke with a set of cams for torque. You better have a stout driveline to handle that level of power and have velcro on your seat, ass, gloves and grips. I have seen bike engines bang a 120ft pds of torque at 2200 rpms and carry that and more out in the upper rpms. I rode a 2002 Dyna Super Glide with a 95in stage 2 kit Mild head work with high lift springs, 48mm Mikuni Carb, Andrews TW54 set of cams and the original V&H Pro pipe. It was a great short ride bar hopper!!!
Big cams and hot compression will overcome a lot for sure, a 95 in a touring bike with a high torque cam works really well. With the 5 speed transmission it keep the motor right in that rpm range on the highway for great roll on passing.
@@GixxerFoo My current 124" in my 2008 Road Glide trike. Is a tractor engine. Compression is at 10.2 and I changed front and rear belt sprockets to a 30/70 ratio. Not sluggish at and any rpm and yes there is heat. Mostly due to the added weight and wind resistance of the trike body and my fat ass sitting on it. 😂😂😂

The only time I really scared myself on a bike, was on a SE Deuce with the factory 95. Probably would've killed myself if it had better cams. That engine creates a rocket!
Hey GixxerFoo, super Video (as always) - pls keep up the great work! As far as my RK Custom SE 2005 goes, hell yes, what a beast! But after riding and enjoying it for more than a year, i am curious (as a Non-Mechanic) whats really in this TWIN CAM 88??? From the outside the Engine shows SE + CNC Ported + SE Exhaust + SE high flow air filter. The Pre-Owner said that `everthing` was done by the factory as a `full SE package`. Who can help?
I googled “how to make a grenade” and this video came out 😂. My 88 was my favorite engine out of my harleys, but it blew up as well as tons of others that I knew who has them as well. Sucks they just can’t build reliable with their awesome fit finish and awesome sounding machines
I've watched this video a couple of times now and you have me seriously considering changing out my Andrews TW26 cams with the Wood TW6. I had the TW26 cams installed as part of a stage 2 upgrade, but I didn't go with a hydraulic cam chain tensioner because at 37,000 miles there didn't seem to be enough wear to bother. I now want to do a stage 3 big bore kit on my 2006 feul injected Road King and maybe do the Wood TW6 cams plus the hydraulic tensioner. 104HP and 116 ft lbs tq ain't nothing to sneeze at! I do like the TW26 cams though because they come in at 1800/2000 rpm and pull like hell to as fast as I'm will to go, but the dyno chart of the TW6 cams look like they kick in right at 2000 rpm as well.
I've got a 2005 Fxstdi Stage 4 95 big bore kit with screaming eagle 585 cams ,58 mm throttle body intake with hyper charger. 10.5:1 comppression with the relief valves. Performance springs adjustable push rods. Just wish it was a 6 speed. Not sure what the HP and torque is. I bought it as is from the dealership.
Question for you Gixxer Foo, I am dealing with HD shop in my area. Going for the 95 BB kit from S&S and adding 509 S&S cams. I just need to be able to pass some cars and all 18 wheelers. I just need passing power, is this combination a good move? Please give me your thoughts please so I can do this once and be done with it for good. I will be waiting for your positive comments, thank you.
GixerFoo, isn’t that 100 HP, 100 ft. pounds of torque more that the stock 88 TC crank and bearings (not the tapered Timken) can handle? If so then you added another $1500 to do the bottom end right.
I have a twin cam, lower sent to dark horse stock stroke 100 in big bore kit Sand S heads that been flowed roller rockers and I can't decide what is going to squeeze every ounce of hp , should I use solid lifters or hydraulic maybe you could shine some light on that for me is it worth the hassle of readjusting your valve lash,I also have 585 cams S and S of course
Loved this one man!....especially cause I just bought a used road king. The dude said he put a 95" kit in it with 525 cams. I don't have any numbers but this thing pulls pretty good. It'll run 100 mph at 3 grand. Are those 525 cams a fueling cam?...he didn't know cause a shop did the work. Also it has stock heads with true duals so headwork and a 2 into 1 with a hpi throttle body should be a huge performance boost would you agree?....any advice from you is well received man love your channel
Yeah Feuling cams, I would go for the head work and the exhaust and see where you land. Throttle bodies are crazy expensive and being a 95 it may not be of much benefit to add a throttle body. Now having the throttle body ported wouldn't be a bad idea at all and Hammer Performance does that like 100 bucks.
Thanks man. I had a hpi throttle body on my built 103 and it was pretty damn amazing....with ported heads, bigger jets and 90 degree air filter It was a damn strong running engine but you could fry an egg on the rocker box covers
Great video. I am going through this all right now with my 2001 road king. Debating on what to do the 95 Zippers kit seems like a great choice. What cam works best with this kit?
The 95 kits are awesome on the 88's, they aren't 150 horsepower like some of the M8's but your not spending 10K on motor either. Which kit are you looking at doing? There engine kit already comes with cams but if your looking at just doing at 95 upgrade with stock heads I like the Wood TW-6 bolt in for the 88.
I have an 03 fat boy i did & S&S 100 inch kit with 570 easy start cams last year. It did well 108 horse 118 torque. On my 2001 road king I am torn what to do because I heard that year EFI has the shitty EFI MM. was thinking might do that same kit on the 01 with a wood cam and put a mikuni 45 carb on it..Thoughts?@@GixxerFoo
Not a bad idea, but depends on which engine it's in and what your goals are as far as power delivery. Wood is going walk just about everything out there as far as power, now where you get that power is the real story.
Depends what you want to do with it, but with the 10.5:1 compression if you had the heads done with springs the Wood TW-8 would really make it rip! If you're running stock heads a TW-6 would be a good match.
Ok , so I have this same setup in an 04 softail . With the largest screaming Eagle cam , stage 2 I believe. With Zippers heads . Tuned when it was installed at 102 HP / 104 FPT . Lots of fun ! Problem I’ve been having since is when I’m hammering on it , highway riding , coming to a slow down or stop the bike idles down to a complete shut off . Also an serious lack in power . Starts right back up and idles fine . I’ve had this bike in a few shops , zero solution . We’ve changed throttle body , and a few other small things . Anyone have any knowledge to share , I’d greatly appreciate it . I’m seriously lost on this one ! Thx y’all have an awesome day 🤘🏼😎
I bought my 05 FLHR 2 years back with the SE95 kit already in it with the 203 cam. I have not replaced the cams yet but I did the SE cam plate, a S&S header, S&S intake and a Thundermax controller with add on 02 sensors and it still hauls. I am on the fence about replacing the cams. Who thinks it is worth it?
You'd have to measure the bore to know exactly what you have, which would mean pulling the heads.. But if it's fuel injected there is a trick to read the data off the tuner to see what the displacement on the tuner is set to. That will give you an idea of what cylinder bore you may have if you know for sure the crank is stock. If it's a big bore kit you have to edit the displacement within the tuner for the fueling calculation to be correct
I’ve been wanting to do this on a 06 E Glide. My question is do I keep the fuel injection on it with a tuner, or ditch it and put a hsr 42 mikuni on it. Or is this even possible ???
How's about adding a pair of performance ported heads? Would adding bigger valves help also? What is your take on knifeedging the flywheels, or, is keeping the flywheels weight heavier, better for these 88" T.C.'s?
i recently bought a used tc88. i pulled the cam cover off and its been converted to gear drive cams and tensioners removed. how can i tell if theres been other work done to the motor? thank you
Good morning 🌅, GixxerFoo, As I have said before, been there, done it, and got the T shirt, well worth it, now trying to do it again, but it is not knowing what the previous owners has done, and from what I can see S&S 510g cams , HSR 42, and it runs like shit, so starting from scratch, Very Big Problem, waiting for parts, France,
That's rough going back over someone else's work when you've got a problem like that. Sounds like you've already got it apart and found a lot of things you didn't want to see in there.
@@GixxerFoo yes I don’t know if it’s as had big bore kit, 88 to a 95 , it is not running right, I have just rebuilt the HSR again with all new jets, as I couldn’t see the size of jets, so I have put the same size that was in my original engine, apart from taking the heads off I don’t think I could find out what size it is, someone has definitely been inside the primary side, as it has got some off the market seals inside, As I mentioned, it has had a set of S&S cams put in it, but it still got the original back plate, and I can’t quite see whether the oil pump has been changed, and the cams are get driven, I wished I’ve got indefinite funds to throw at it, as I would strip the whole engine down completely, I was hoping to have it back on the road by now, though saying that my weather is not very good, And hopefully I’ll catch up with you later tonight when you upload your next UA-cam, France

I've always said that Harley designed the TC as a 95" to begin with and then produced it as an 88" so they could sell a lot of upgrade kits.
I wouldn't doubt that for a second, that's exactly what Harley-Davidson does.
When I did mine I had to upgrade the clutch because the stock clutch wouldn’t hold the added torque the 95 inch kit had so make sure you upgrade your clutch
Thank you still learning on this new stuff ,in closing all you kids need to ride a ,74 inch pan head. Still riding my ,64 pan since early 70" s
That's awesome! People forget those bikes used to be rode cross country! Today people think you can't do it unless you have a loaded out touring bike with a stereo. Don't get me wrong that helps but all you need is a windshield and some bags.
Windshield ,bags. and a panhead
Thank you Foo and all brothers comment content, this will halp me navigate choices for my '06 RK.!
We have the best community on UA-cam by far!
carburetor, my 2002 RK I did the 95" S&S 9.7:1 piston and cylinder kit and S&S 510 gear drive cams. I'm running a Ramjet one piece intake manifold, Mikuni 42mm carb, Supertrap 2 into exhaust and Thunderheart coil and ignition. I'm very happy with the performance.
I am a huge fan of the 95ci. Add a Oil Cooler, Cam, Makuni Carb, Decent Exhaust and it really does have good power and it’s actually really reliable.
They do run very hard!
I have the same bike and I've heard the bottom end isn't as good for adding a bunch of torque. Would you say that's not an issue for you? Thx
Pull the cover and check the tensioners
@@superplumber5 - I already did. The shoes have minor wear on both of them. I removed and inspected the fuel petcock and fuel strainer. I removed and cleaned the K&N Hi-Flo air cleaner. I did a 3 hole oil and filter change. I'm flushing and bleeding the brakes now. Gonna take the front wheel to the shop in the morning, to have the new tire installed. Gonna replace the brake pads also. I'm gonna ride it awhile before I do anything else to it.
It rides quite a bit different than my StreetGlide...
Mine has a 95 kit with Keith Black 10.5:1 pistons, 570 cams, ported and polished. She pulls like a freight train and looks like a stock 88.
That's what l'm talking about right there, that's a sleeper! I didn't even go into 10.5:1 compression either, you and l both know what that bike is capable of 👍.
That thing has to haul ass
04 09 22 purchased a 2002 88 twin cam heritage. only 17828 mi. very clean scoot looks new. $9828.43 out the door. paid cash. It has a carb. I was a little bit shy about the 88. However the local wrench turner assured me the 88 is a good motor and says the same thing about upgrades that you say. Next winter going to turn this scoot into a beast. Thanks for your vids.
2002 was the last year of the timken bear and forged crank shaft. Make sure the cam tensioner system is upgraded and you will have one of the most reliable twin cams out there
Have 95 big bore in a 02 ultra ,635 ss cams, port polished heads ,flat top pistons ,kimble wires ,3 angle valve job ,fueling camplate ,oiler, and injectors power commander 5,50mm throttle body Dan motto 2 into 1 pipe with custom baffle, and she runs hard and upsets a lot of folks
I love my 95 ci. I have a bit of a Frankenstein. 04 RK Classic fi. Power vision wide band o2 tuner, Bassani 2 into 1 , jp precision 2b heads.i got a set of 02 casses for the timken bearings, i got the casses cleared for a Woods tw6hg cam. The crank is welded plugged and trued.
Im pushing 190 ccp.
Om using pop up comp releases.
I keep up with the 114ci no problems...
Just got mine back from the dyno. 85 hp with 90ft lbs. I’m running the 95”, fueling 525 camchest, with the Barnett scorpion a clutch.
Not bad at all on a 95 with that cam, curious what exhaust you're running though.
Learned that with Small block Chevy vs BBC
I just bought a 2003 wide glide with the 95 kit just waiting to pick it up!!! Can’t wait
I finally got that hammer 1275 kit with the 570 cams and xb heads. Its way more rowdy and sounds different too. Tons of torque! Your reviews help me make the choice to go with hammer. Keep it up! Love the Harley performance side
Thank you! That is awesome! That's an excellent street setup for a Sportster! It's a night and day difference, l hope you're enjoying it!
@@rustyshackleford4059 oh ya it runs so good. Its a whole new bike. My buddy has a similar build to mine ( 10.5:1 comp. 560 cams) his should be faster maybe it's my pipe idk. I was out running him at Partial throttle and short shifting because I'm still in the break in process. The amount of torque I have now is the most noticable difference so far. I'll report back after I Dyno it and can go full throttle to 7000 rpms.
@@clubstyleridahd4695 ya report back on the old ladies dusting you with her moped stuck in low gear.
@@slickwilly1099 ya because that makes a lot of sense right? In the Harley world there isn't much that can hang.. and if your talking about sport bikes I have one of those too and many other bikes. I've been riding for 16 years I've ridden all kinds of bikes. Explain what you are comparing it too that makes it slow?
Thanks for the 95 praise. I have a 02. I can testify that this baby runs 👍👍
Right on! Those 95's are very strong motors, they will pull on built motors with much larger displacement all day long.
Same
I’ve done the 95 big bore 203 cams lifters and timken bearing I love it
Great video!
Exactly what I'm looking for. Some good performance that doesn't break my bank!
I don't need to have 10hp more for $2k-$3k. Around 100hp or just shy of it is enough for this old cowboy 🤠
Glad it helped! 100 horsepower goes a long way on a Harley, you'll feel the difference for sure!
Great quality and information I’ve come to expect from this channel! Keep up the great work and research! Thank you!
Thank you! We really appreciate the support!
The cam profile decides when and where you get your power, good torque cam in a 95 kit will give you that off the line pull.
I look forward to these weekly videos
I’m afraid that I may be addicted to them!
Thanks so much. Upgrading my screaming eagle 95 to tw6 and head work is the plan.
Good choice! That will be like a whole new bike!
I had on 02 FXDX that I did the stage 2 big bore jugs pistons and cams and I would routinely walk away from new 96 and lots of others
95 kit w 96 ci heads w headwork, 543 cams, s&s crank, mikuni 42 via lightweight chain driven fxr. it runs pretty decent.
Exactly what I did with my FXR just a 585 cam. What hp/tQ you achieve??
My 07 street glide has the big bore jugs, bored with a weisco piston 10.5 compression, ss ported heads with screamin eagle intake and throttle body tuned with a full true duel vance and hines exhaust and a custom grind cam. Its an absolute savage. Super super snappy. Eat 107's alive! Not even a match. It helps I've lightened the bike up some and I'm only 140lbs soaking wet lol
did one on my 2004 softail had head work done 570g cam s&s super g wih thunderjet crane ignition thing pulled like a animal
Great post. My 2000 ultra 95 in , Runs with, and amuses my palls big boar hot rod bikes. Oh yea, I run Bob Woods Cams. Cheers
@@GixxerFoo THANK YOU SIR, I APPRECIATE the FEEDBACK. CARBED ALSO
Right on ; little monster -
Got my pistons gaskets ready ; waiting on cyl boring . Going to change out valve guide seals while heads off . I went with cast pistons 10:25 to one . Cam should bring that down a bit . 125 psi on compression test with stock pistons right now . High rpm recommend forged . Well the new rage around here is electric bicycles. Bidenomics I guess with the gas prices I guess.😁
✊🏻👍👌 thanks for the info 🙏
Not worried about sprocket bearing for hd when bigger and bigger with that same bearing .
Cams make all the difference and that's why the Screamin Eagle kits are so weak, they make the cams EPA legal.
Just found this video while debating if i want to build my 88” road king or sell it. I think it might be fun learning to build it
Great video bud. I’m a m8 guy but I still like watching
Went from 88 to 95in now it's a 106 stroker. 02 soft tail
🤘🏼😎
I'm getting ready to do my 04 deuce. Cams are done and waiting on new cylinders piston and heads.
Hi what sort of cams are you running?
Looking at doing my 04 Deuce as well.
Cheers
525 fueling cams. Runs great now with new pistons n heads.
Now THAT sounds like a fun HD engine!
I went with fueling 575 cams straight gear drive fueling cam chest oil pump and it helped it but when I did the 95 inch bore and the heads on it it made it a rocket ship
what did you do to the heads?
@@johnippolito2376 the heads are basically stock just cleaned them up and they change the valve springs in them and put compression releases in them
@@johnippolito2376 it's really strong right off idle all the way up through the mid-range that's why I didn't Port anything they just polished the heads up I love it
Seems about the right time for you to do a few vids on upgrading the M8 107.
I have the 203 cam an came out with 90 hp an 103 torque on my 95 kit
That 95 kit and a five speed transmission that’ll make it hop
I have an 2002 heritage softail with a Jerry branch complete 95 kit with heads and cams. Let me tell you she a screamer and will out run a stock 114 M-8.

Iv mentioned it befor on your videos but my 03 FLHRCI 95ci stage 4 with mild Andrews 37G cam im at 100hp 107lbft.
Andrews makes a hell of a cam! The right cam makes all the difference, those are some really good numbers and that's reliable power!
Nice, my 88 with a two into one exhaust out runs 107 soft tails. I need to bump it up.
no it doesn't
My fxdx has a 95 kit on it. Its ok for what it is.
Any info on the OLD screaming eagle HTCC heads. Part #16933-33 or 16933-26 (black or silver is the only difference) Cant find anything about them.
Gear drive cams. TC 95. Turns rpm’s faster. Faster r’s means faster moving.
I googled “how to make a grenade” and this video came out 😂. My 88 was my favorite engine out of my harleys, but it blew up as well as tons of others that I knew who has them as well. Sucks they just can’t build reliable with their awesome fit finish and awesome sounding machines
The 88's had the tensioners that basically turned the engine into a grenade if left unchecked lol.
@@GixxerFoo yup! Now that I know, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one, but do it up right.
I did this to my bike tw6 cams and heads were ported polished and spring kit
I'm here because of the beautiful screen shot.
After this riding season this will happen 🇺🇸
It's worth the investment on an 88!
I would love you to do a review of a 124r engine
Great content as always keep the job homie Gixxer. Regards...
You talked me into it !
Dude. thanks for these videos. Gotta do this.
525’s are the Feuling Reaper cams.
Thanks man. I had a hpi throttle body on my built 103 and it was pretty damn amazing....with ported heads, bigger jets and 90 degree air filter
It was a damn strong running engine but you could fry an egg on the rocker box covers
I like the specs and results on the tw9f wood cam wow. How do you think it would do with the S&S 100 kit with S&S ported cnc heads?
Very happy with my 1999 95" tc. I would however love an extra 100 hp on top of the 100 I have.
then buy a victory. or indian.
Can you do a video on the comparison between the S&S MR103 and the Woods TW 222 CAMS? Thank you!
Not a bad idea, but depends on which engine it's in and what your goals are as far as power delivery. Wood is going walk just about everything out there as far as power, now where you get that power is the real story.
You should do a video covering the 95" HTCC builds. I'm in the middle of one and can find no videos anywhere referencing them.
Hammer performance 98” big bore kit would go best with which cams?
Depends what you want to do with it, but with the 10.5:1 compression if you had the heads done with springs the Wood TW-8 would really make it rip! If you're running stock heads a TW-6 would be a good match.
U bet cha! Love it . V@h propipe. Rocking out
Rock on!
95 is the best u can do and be reliable!!!!!
Me ....I would go wood's cams ...they make amazing power and torque...I have them in my Dyna.
Can you tell stock cylinders without pulling heads?
With a 2006 you'll want to use a Power Vision, but on the 2006 you might be able to get away with a power commander on that year model.
Excellent show brother
Great video, again !! Very useful information !
I’m supposed to be getting a twin 88 supposedly has the 95 kit but now I’m curious what cams it has
How's about adding a pair of performance ported heads?
@@GixxerFoo yes I don’t know if it’s as had big bore kit, 88 to a 95 , it is not running right, I have just rebuilt the HSR again with all new jets, as I couldn’t see the size of jets, so I have put the same size that was in my original engine, apart from taking the heads off I don’t think I could find out what size it is, someone has definitely been inside the primary side, as it has got some off the market seals inside, As I mentioned, it has had a set of S&S cams put in it, but it still got the original back plate, and I can’t quite see whether the oil pump has been changed, and the cams are get driven, I wished I’ve got indefinite funds to throw at it, as I would strip the whole engine down completely, I was hoping to have it back on the road by now, though saying that my weather is not very good, And hopefully I’ll catch up with you later tonight when you upload your next UA-cam,
France
