Money can't buy happiness... And I find that owning things is extra-weight in one's life. I am getting rid of more and more things.

I find the older I get, the less "clutter" I want in my life. I surround myself with the things that are important to me such as my family, friends, old photos. I have "less stuff" than I've ever had in my life and I'm very happy. I feel like my life is organized. I spend money towards trips with my family rather than a bigger and better bedroom set. I had to learn this as I got older. You have learned this young, so you have the advantage!
Thank you for sharing your story!!! 💕💕💕
I am 37 and totally agree with you
The list starts at 6:35. You're welcome
Thank you 🤦🏾♀️
Thank you !
Thx
THANK YOU!
This made me cry. I also came from a poor upbringing. I remember that simple things were all we had. Now, that I have more, it's not better. My kids don't know what it means to be hungry or not buying new clothes each year. God bless you. With all the people suffering from Harvey and Irma, this video couldn't come at a better time. You have inspired me to think about what's important for my kids.
🙏❤️
Life.is.a.box.of my aunt volunteered for a homeless shelter. She took her boys (10-15ish) to help hand out coats to the needy. They asked why the little girl was only wearing a thin hoodie and not her winter jacket. My aunt said that WAS her winter jacket. She said she could see the gears turning in their heads. They've since become more grateful for seeing just WHAT they had.
And about you not uploading DIYs recently, you should make whatever videos you want. We love to watch anything you put do. Do what makes you happy !💕
Thank you! Than you!
Yes yes yes! I have shifted in the same way. I used to be very into thrifting, consuming, buying more craft items. One day I realized how broke finically and mentally I was and began my journey on minimalism. Clarity is such a wonderful word to describe this new lifestyle. I love it. Thank you and I'm so happy and proud of your progression!
Thank you for sharing your story and the kind words ❤️
You are such an inspiration - thank you for staying real with us and sharing your progression in any and everything you set your mind to.
🙏💕💕💕
Love this! I've been going on a journey similar to yours. I used to spend so much time browsing clothing websites and buying way too much in my spare time. It would give me a temporary high , but then I'd feel empty. Now, I spend my time drawing, painting, reading, etc. I try to do things that inspire me and allow me to be creative instead of constantly spending money and wanting more things. I honestly feel so much more fulfilled. So glad that we can all encourage each other here on your channel. 😀❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story Christina ❤️
Ann Le {Anneorshine} You are very welcome! 😊
I am 23 years old, have lived on my own since 18 and so created myself a home and surrounded myself with all the stuff I could only dream of as a kid. Like you I wasnt from a wealthy family, and I was quite sad hearing the kids holidaystories when my highpoint in my holiday was my friend coming home from it. Although I think my childhood was awesome still , very free and happy.
Now as an adult thats moving to another country, I need to get rid of 80% of my accumulated stuff, its been a huuuuge eye opener. What junk have I surrounded myself that yes, maybe look nice but theyre really worthless.. Brand new divan leather couch after two years has a worth of 10 dollars. Thats just how it is. You spend A LOT of money for something that is actually worthless after purchasing. So I have come to the same conclusion as you, and realized Ive totally been whipped by commercialism and trying hard to make my home look nice every season. For what? Only to realize it was a hard work for some meaningless material. Take care, hope you have a nice day 😊❤
Never despise small beginnings. Social media pumps into people that they need A and B to make a good impression or that without it you are less than or unsuccessful. Everything is perspective. I love this video and I think you should do more like this. We respond to your honesty that is what we love about you. Very much love the video.
Thank you for the feedback Johana! ❤️
Ann I've been watching your videos from way back even before you moved to California and have always looked forward to when you do post them. Your creativity and gifts you posess amazes me! I've never ever commented on anyone's videos before, yours was the first. I felt I needed to reach out and write what was deep in my heart.
Love the direction you're heading. Stay strong, do what makes you happy & live life to the fullest. Sending you blessings X
Great that you're starting your minimalism journey. Stress is the main reason why minimalism is gaining in popularity. The material clutter is one piece of the puzzle. I hope you'll consider the invisible energies that are also messing up our homes in the form of wireless devices, dirty electricity and too many electronics in the bedroom. Good luck!
People need this kind of honesty. Thank you!
Ann I'll definitely be joining you in your journey. It seems that you and I are both going in the same direction. I use to always watch the makeup and fashion videos on UA-cam. Now I find myself watching more minimalism videos. They have helped me a lot. And they seem to calm me when I have anxiety.
I'm glad you're heading towards this mentality to keep things as simple as you could.
On point right now Ann. I want to move away from the stress I have created and go with less. Subconsciously I have been waiting for that person to come in and help..I have been on my own for 6 years now and I want simple. I understand that doesn't necessarily mean easier if its in a relationship so instead of waiting, I could go a different way and live a downsized version of my life. With children its matter of letting them find their own way and let them fly the coop..who knows when that will be but in the meantime just doing this recalibration of listing what I want and don't want is a shift to healthier place. Many thanks x
Thank you for sharing your story Tracy! I'm so happy we can help support each other 😊❤️
that crystal air plant sand jar was amazing
I am so happy you did this video. I have such a difficult time letting go of "things". You are so correct in that cleaning, and keeping up a clean space requires more time and effort. I desperately want/need to minimize my living space. ⭐🎈💁
Great video Ann! I began my minimalism journey about 3 years ago and I love it. I grew up well off and when my mother passed away 6 years ago I saw how obsessed people were about her stuff. I didn't want to be a slave to things (and don't get me wrong I love nice things). I'm more into quality and purpose instead of quantity and having every trendy thing. Classic, simple and Chic has been my go to for beauty, fashion, Skincare, decor and overall stuff. Thank you for sharing your journey with us 🤗
Love how you're moving towards minimalism too! Can't wait to see your vlogs.
I love your new approach to video intros. I feel like we are getting to know you better and as a member of your audience I really appreciate that!
Please make more minimalist videos. I seriously have tried and fail but you are giving me hope! I will make the change with you and his time I will succeed 💕
I consider myself as a maximalist... I get maximum of joy from minimum things!
With this video you reminded me, why I have been following you for so many years.. You have a big heart, girl and you are very special!
I love your genuine sincerity thank you for your openness and personal relationship!!! You are amazing and inspirational! Thank you!
that means so much! thank you love ❤️
Love this video, Ann!
I'm so proud of who you became Ann. I love you so much. When wealth finally comes to you, it's hard to control what you want and needs. People on social media in general like to show off what they can buy and affords. Those luxury unnecessary materials makes me sick. There's no end in wanting more and more and more to the point that ppl don't appreciate what they have already. I was scared you becomes one of them with time but this video just prouve you're not. Stay humble my love 💖
I agree with everything you said. I been working on becoming a minimalist for a year, it's been a slow process, but I'm not giving up.
Thanks for sharing Ann! :)
You're such a good example for the future. I agree so much with your mindset.
I would love to have a minimalist lifestyle. I've been in the process of decluttering too. I feel like all of my stuff is weighing me down. But I think also you should be able to keep the things you really love the most - like my purses. I love my purses. 😊
Yes please do more minimalism videos! I have also been intrigued.
Ann, I've been subscribed to you for so long now and this video honestly makes me so happy for you. You're such an inspiration and make me want to change my own life for the better. I wish you all the best of luck with this journey 💕
I just love your videos ❤️❤️
Hi, Ann I really like the sincerness to share which point you came from. Even though, i have not feel the greatness yet, I am joining your club to be a beginner minimalist. please share more about it. Thanks
love love
Hi Ann Lê!!! Thank you!!♡
Great video. I've shifted in the same direction just recently and let me tell you that although it's a process, it's liberating. I'm realizing that the things I crazed for before are of no true value and they consumed space in my home, my mind and my time.
Thanks for sharing Ann! We are also de cluttering today.... I feel you about growing up! Growing up first generation Vietnamese American.... was hard! You are an inspiration!!
So much respect for you, girl. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I loved the video, i'm on that journey myself and round your tips very inspiring xx
Thank you for the video Ann 🤗
I know exactly how you're feeling because recently I started to think that way too. My house has become so cluttered and as an organization freak, it's been really stressing me out because I don't have time to organize/de-clutter everything. Especially as a mom of a toddler, who loves to makes messes, I keep thinking if we have less things then maybe our house wouldn't be such a mess the whole time. All that plus having an obsession with materialistic things. Like my dream is to travel everywhere but at the same time, I want to buy stuff. Like why do I need all of these things anyway? I'm trying to lessen shopping so we can all travel as family but it can be hard sometimes. Anyway, I hope I can start off with my space first then move on to other things. Thanks for making the video!
Always enjoy your video! You're an inspirational person!!!
Thanks so much for this video, recently i've been buying clothes as a coping strategy to help with my mental health, buying things made me feel better but only short term, so these tips are really helping : )
AMEN Ann!!!
This is great!
Why have I JUST stumble upon this?! I feel the very same way and I started a few months ago. I got rid of a LOT of stuff but I feel it's still not enough! I really hope my old stuff will serve someone else though. I'd be sad if it didn't...
I'm so glad I found you! From vegetarian to minimalism, things I'm starting to grow an interest in. Thank you for your channel!
Yes ready for new adventures!
My inspiration 😍😍 keep doing everything good for u life ann 💛💛
My biggest decluttering last year was getting off social media. all i have is you tube. and I am very selective who i follow. it has helped me be restored to my truer self. God Bless your journey i believe great things are in store for you.
Marie kondos book really made me minimalistic. I don't buy things I don't need and I only buy and keep things that make me happy. Really check it out if you haven't Ann! Love the video like always!
Yay Ann!
Love ur new motto. Follow minimalism! ☺👍
Love the into! And your video!
I'm so glad you uploaded I've been really missing watching a new video
Thank Sanah!!!! Miss you too 😊
sanah sindha i
Love that blue purse you got rid of, so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing. I'll join you in this journey.💕💐😊
What a great video! Love your thoughtful thinking! Greetings from Germany.
We've just embarked on minimising our belongings. I don't think we will ever be minimalist, its too difficult with a small child, but we want to greatly reduce the unnecessary stuff in our home. Following KonMari so far and its going fairly well! Good luck on your journey!
I am honestly and very happily surprised!! :) I used to watch your packing videos, because they inspired me to pack lightly (which was the starting point towards minimalism for me btw) and now I just stumbled across your MOVE video and this one. Thank you for these inspirational videos! I am on my minimalism journey for almost two years now and I have experienced so so many benefits that came with it. I am very happy when I see other people iscovering this lifestyle, because I think everyone could find value in reevaluating their stuff!! I love your idea with the visionboard on pinterest ( I have one on Instagram). But there is a tricky part to it ... The pictures on social media are constructed, as you said in this video, and the beautiful minimalistic images with a modern couch, a serene looking, all coherent place sometimes make me feel bad about my student apartment and I feel the urge to replace things that are perfectly fine, just to create the 'perfect minimalistic environment'. I think my tip would be to be very intentional about which photos you choose and always appreciate the "overall look" and what creates this calm look ( eg the negative space in it, no clutter ...) instead on focussing on the aesthetics of the items in these photos. I found myself caught up in thinking that my place has to have certain items to be "minimal". I found Verena Erins channel mygreencloset very inspiring, because she shows her minimalistic apartment which I would call "normal" and not all white and fancy (which is most likely where we come from when we engage in this lifestyle for the first time :)) I am looking forward to more videos from you on this topic.
I love this!!!! I will definitely follow you on ur journey! I need this so much in my life right now. 💙
Thanks for sharing your story with us! You're such an inspiration. I'm moving house soon and I want to begin a new life free of things that I don't need in my life...
Very inspiring 😊😘
That's so clever and inspiring....It really needs so much maturity to become a minimalist....love ya😍😍
This might be a silly question but I was wondering if you could explain the concept of clarity or make a video on your process for defining clarity goals....
I just found your channel. This is an amazing video. It really spoke to where I am in life right now. Thank-you for sharing.
Thank you for these helpful tips for minimalism :) I've been interested in it for a while now and I think these tips will help me really get into it after this uni semester :) Much appreciated as always :)
I just came across your channel and although I am far from a minimalist I am starting to be interested in this life style. I appreciate your transparency and you have really inspired me to look more into a minimalist way of living. Btw my daughter remodeled her bedroom at the beginning of this year to a minimalist style and I have to admit that whenever we go in her room it brings peace of mind which is the clarity that I think you are referring to in this video. Thanks again for sharing :)
Love your story....I am starting with you as well thanks for your amazing tips.
Hi Anne Love to see your Blog😗
I fell the same! Like all this stuff is worth nothing at the end.. FELLING happy and great is what is worth the Mist!
I'm new on your channel but this video was so helpful. Thank you. I've been thinking of minimalism and start this lifestyle. Cause we do have a lot of stuff that really is an obsticle to other things that are more important, such as relationships, family, etc.
That was really inspirational and thank you for allowing me to be on this journey with you. :)
Thank you for the feedback Iara! I'm so happy to hear how this video has inspired you ❤️

Beautiful intro // video. I'm on board with ya. 👏❤️
very clever and sympatical!;)
Ann I love you even more now! Please do contito sure your minimalist journey! XOXO
Have you watched the documentary, Minimalism? That doc definitely opened my eyes to a different perspective on life and what to appreciate better.
I love your videos they are always genuine. I feel all my life is a mess, work, home, relationships and family. I don't really know where to start. Do you have any tips 😙
Yes Let's do it I feel like I was lead to this video
I feel like everything in my house stresses me out. If I tossed everything out I didn't think made me look pretty in my closet I would be left with two pair of boots. Two pair of shoes. And a handbag.
*HELP! How can motivate or even force myself do to stuff which I want to until I make it habit?*
I'm just too lazy to live the way I want to. Like I want go to taekwondo classes I enrolled to but I just don't go there. I want read a book everyday but I just don't do it. I do stuff which i don't want like playing games.
where did you get your dresser?
Gillian it looks like the ones from Ikea.
Emily Hartman thanks I thought so too. I looked I guess it's just available where I am
I just wanted to ask, why most minimalists use black, white and grey . Thanks
Love the video but it starts at 6:36 for everyone :)
This is unparalleled excellence. I encountered content with a similar message, and it was life-changing. "The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Living Guide" by Matthew Cove
I just want to hug your neck! You’re inspirational!
💓💓💓💓💓💓
👍😆👍
You shuld watch Jenny Mustard or Pick up Limes, their videos about minimalism are great
Such a great video! I am trying to live a more minimalistic life! You should watch the documentary "minimalism" on Netflix. ❤️
This is so helpful! I really want to get minimalistic. But where.to start?!
onedirectionwriter you can read the book by marie kondo. Or search yt videos. There's a lot of them^^
Honestly I think the best place to start is to mentally declutter. Unfollow people on social media, unsubscribe from email newsletters and mail. Then work on your physical space. Your home can be clean but if your mind and day to day routine isn't simple, your space isn't going to feel less cluttered either.
i feel exactely the same but the difference is that i dont own much in my closet, please tell me that u didnt get rid of your beautiful clothes, i need them badly!!!!
