Ditch massed studying such as constant rereading (especially if this is a passive reading) and employ retrieval practice, self-testing, and periodic review. These cognitive practices are empirically proven and will help you integrate knowledge in the long-term memory. The process may seem counterintuitive, but according to scientists, they yield better and deeper learning when compared to massed studying.
The challenge among law schools and law students is to find a study method in which the above cognitive practices are used since there is little literature with regard to the cognitive science in law learning.
aspiring corporate lawyer as well, thaaaank u!! ❤❤🙁

Hi, Atty. I know we all differ in style, pace, needs, etc., in terms of studying/learning. Just curious tho and to have an idea how I'm doing with my review, may I know your approximate average reading dosage (in pages) back in law school and when you were reviewing for the Bar. Thank you!

Thank u Atty. Inspiring vlog.. Im a retired navy and a cesnna aircraft pilot... But my biggest dream is becoming a lawyer.. Hope its not too late for me.. Im 47.. I plan to enroll at law school after this pandemic
Hello Sir!! It's never too late! I had a batchmate in UP Law around your age and my husband had a classmate in San Beda Law in his 50s. There are many people with unusual circumstances who became lawyers- middle aged people, janitors, security guards! These are the people with the most inspiring, admirable stories!
Hello, Atty. Tina! Thank you for the very timely tips. Kahit naka-quarantine kami, meron pa rin kaming mga online exams and requirements. This vlog helps me stop procrastinating. Hihi 😂 More power and God bless po.

Atty. Is "failure part of footstone to success" exist in Law School?
These are very practical tips! :) naalala ko yung mga mali na ginawa ko 😆
Haha! Amen, girl. Amen 😂 You're out of law school na?
Such practical tips. Thank you, Atty. Tina!
Most welcome Christine 😊
Assuming I got into UP Law (or any law school). What would you advise me to study in advance as a head start if I were to start in August as a part-time law student? Thank you in advance
I would advise you not to read anything law related actually, haha! You'll get your fill of reading in law school, trust me. Instead, I'd practice speed reading (of any material). If you REALLY want to study law-related matter beforehand, I suggest you read the Civil Code, Family Code, and Revised Penal Code. Soft copies are available for free on the internet (but you will definitely buy hard copies in your 1st year, as they're required codes)!
Ang behave ni Pancho huhu 💖😍 thanks for the tips, Atty. Very helpful for a first year law student like me 💖
Most welcome! ☺
@@TinaAmadorRobles Hi Atty.! Just wanna ask if you made notes nung nag law school po kayo? 😊

Atty Tina, I asked my dad (Gary de Castro), if he knows your dad, acc to him, it’s Atty Vic Amador daw po. ☺️ Hehe. Regards and keep safe po 💗
Watching this video made me nod my head so much in agreement. Especially about highlighting strategically, making charts, tables, etc., and the importance of sleep. If I learned sooner that it was okay to sleep pag pagod na, I would have gladly done it noon pa. I pushed myself to the limit, so it ended up with me having to visit a therapist for mental health issues, and it made me decide to take a break from law school. But I missed studying, so I took a graduate degree related to law school, and the way I studied in law school, nagamit ko din, except pushing myself to the limit. Ngayon, when I go home from class, I just eat dinner and sleep, and wake up REALLY early (like 3 AM) to study instead. I can't stress enough that a rested brain is a happy and productive brain. Thank you for sharing these tips--in a way, I knew I was doing the right thing. Hehe.
PS. Reserva Troncal made me cry [so much]. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hahaha!! Reserva troncal made my brain hurt 😂 I applaud you for sharing your mental health struggle in law school, very few are brave enough to do so (even if it is so real)! About your graduate degree related to law, that sounds like a great path as well. Maybe back then wasn't your time to be a lawyer yet. But if you ever want it again, it still could be :)
Tina Amador-Robles Yes! ♥️
One day, maybe! Hindi pa kami tapos magtuos ni law school. Hahaha
Currently enrolled in the Diploma in Industrial Relations program in SOLAIR. 😊
Hello po atty! What gadgets do you recommend po that would really be helpful during law school?
Hi, Atty. Tina! Did you always read the cases in full-text? I'm an incoming UP Law freshie. Thank you for the tips!
I really tried as much as possible, but when time wouldn’t allow, I had to use the class digest pool or online digests 😂 I suggest that your class have a digest pool. Best of luck in UP Law!!
Im just studying now for the future
Is it necessary to have a brotherhood/sisterhood in law school?
Just asking

Will do this for sure, Jennilyn! 😊
Hi Tina, great vlogs and very useful for us aspiring lawyers. May I know if you were working full time when you started studying law? How supportive is UP law school for working professionals? Thanks in advance!
Hi Melvin! Thanks! :) I wasn't a working student, but UP Law has an evening program designed specifically for working students! While non-working students have a 4-year program with classes which begin in the morning, working students have a 5-year program with classes which begin at nighttime. The working students class is traditionally Block E. So yeah, I'd say UP Law is very supportive of working professionals!
@@TinaAmadorRobles Thanks Atty. Tina for this very encouraging feedback!
Hi atty can you share tips for the bar reviewees?
I will! Stay tuned 🙂
When reciting, to whom should a law student face: to the prof or to his/her classmates? Thanks :)
The law student faces the prof :)

jusko 4th year na ako... wish I heard this when I was still in my first year. lol
Nevertheless, thank you Atty.! New subscriber here
Konti nalang, lawyer na! Hehe thanks Czarina :)
Nice video
Hello Atty. Tina! I'm an incoming 4th year student in the province. In the present, I'm really bothered to the point that I can't concentrate that much on my studies because I am constantly doubting myself if I can pass the bar exams due to the slacking off I made in the previous years. I'm stuck in regretting my mistakes of not always giving 100% since day 1. Although I passed my subjects in the lower years, I did it through extreme cramming and I believe that cramming may only help for the exam the next day and I will immediately forget what I studied afterwards. Because of this I'm afraid that I will not have enough stock knowledge or foundation for the bar exams. Now I'm trying to motivate myself in trying to make up for my mistakes. Is it too late to have that laser focus in 4th year up to the bar exams in November 2021 to have enough to pass the bar? Can I make up for my mistakes in the remaining time I have? Thank you Atty., I wish I knew of these helpful tips back when I was in 1st year :-(
Hi John, YES, you can absolutely make up for the slacking off in previous years, but you have to double your efforts. :) Don't panic, don't be disheartened. Instead, take your review classes in 4th year seriously, and study hard for them this time. You definitely still have time to catch up. Just take studying for your review subjects very seriously this 4th year. Focus. Kaya mo yan. Kakayanin!
Please don't skip the ads😊
Hahaha relate ako dun sa reserva troncal on my first encounter 😂
SUPER 😂 sakit sa brain!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are so funny literally write “Land Mark cases” That’s what my prof will call “Padre nuestro” so that you don’t miss the idea. Thanks beautiful this video is helpful.
Hello Atty! This is such a big help for someone who is dying to go in Law school. However, I have some hesitations because I can hardly express myself in front of many people. How do I get to express what's on my mind when I can't even stand in front of everyone? I'm afraid I'll start stuttering when the professor calls my name for recitation. :( PLEASE NOTICE ME
Hi Yam RPm! Plenty of lawyers are not extroverted and not good with people, haha, so don't worry! The only way to conquer that fear is to actually be placed in the environment wherein you have no choice but to overcome it if you want to survive (in short, in law school itself)! Trust me, you never know what you're capable of until you're actually able to do it. There will be bad recitations in law school for sure, especially during your learning curve, but only time (years in law school) and repetition (reciting again and again) will make you better! :)
@@TinaAmadorRobles Woah! Thank you for the encouragement Atty! God bless you more! I'll keep it in mind. I'll trust the process. Thank you so much, Atty. :)
❤️
ano po yung bachelor degree na kinuha nyo
Hello po, atty! I am currently in Junior High School. Any tips po on what to do as early as now because I also want to become a lawyer. Stay safe and God bless po!
Hello! My tips:
-Form good study habits. Aim for excellence. Aim for higher grades.
-Read and read. Expand your vocabulary.
-Get used to speaking in English. In law school, you will be reciting in English.
-If you fear public speaking, take steps to conquer it this early. Join a club. Join activities wherein you will have to speak before other people. In law school, you will be reciting one-on-one with your professor, in front of your classmates.
-Be politically aware of what's going on in our country and in the world by following the news.
-Take an undergrad course that you enjoy, because in law school, really, all you will be doing is studying.
I'll make a separate video on this in the future :)
Stupid question. If/when you pass the bar is it imperative to go work for a law firm or is it ok to go directly to corporate?
Not stupid at all! Yup, you totally can go directly corporate-law firm experience is not required, unless explicitly stated by the company.
Most useful video on law school tips. And thanks for sticking to the topic and not showing us your hair and make-up routine... gosh!!!
Thanks! I have other videos on my make up routines etc.- because others ask for them- all of which you, in the exercise of your discretion, are absolutely free to not watch. :)
@@TinaAmadorRobles And that's great... I just don't feel like the vlogers on here should punctuate their law school tips or other such videos with their make-up routines or spend half of the footage on what they had for lunch. That's what I see on so many of the videos that I watch. Thanks for keeping your content valid and substantial.
Thanks, Ray Ray! I appreciate that!
Hi Atty Tina, ask ko lang kung okay din ba yun book by Boado para po sa Crim 1? Thanks po! ❤
Hi Carrel, our Crim 1 and 2 profs used Reyes kasi. I suggest you go with the book your prof recommends kasi yan yung itatanong sa recit. Then if you want to, just read a different commentary during bar review :)
@@TinaAmadorRobles Noted. Thank you po Atty Ganda!! 😊
that "the lipstick lawyer" tho HAHHAH
Hehe! Balance! :P
Hi po Atty. Tina, I hope you're doing great po, ask lang po ako kung saan po makakabili ng san beda notes? Future Law Student here po, sana mapansin. Salamat po in advance. : )
How many yrs po ba pag nag take ng law??
anu mas maganda basahin atty digest or full text?
Always full text, but of course if hindi kaya given time constraints, digest is better than bagsak 😅
