Onion pie 2 lbs of onions thinly sliced 1 stick of butter 3 eggs well beaten 1 cup of sour cream 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp of pepper Dash of Tabasco 1 pastry shell unbacked Parmesan cheese Saute onions in butter. Combine eggs and sour cream and Tabasco. Add to onions mixture season mixture and pour into pastry shell top with parmesan cheese. Bake at 450 for 20 mins. Then at 325 for twenty mins and enjoy. I got this recipe from my aunt sheila in south Carolina. I love to add fresh spinach and fresh mushrooms to this recipe. You could even add bacon to it. This reminds me of a quiche so that is how I prepare this amazing recipe. This is my absolute favourite recipe ever. I have made it more then once and learn new things each time I make it. Since you like to get everything out of the cans, my suggestion is that you use the broth to rinse the cans. I have watched all of your videos and have enjoyed every one of them.

I made two of this today and shared it with my extended family. Everyone thought it was very tasty, had a wonderful texture, and was quite filling. Along with it we had some salads, fruit and corn casserole. We had a great time at our end of summer gathering. Everyone thought this was the perfect dish to serve. You share great kitchen tips with us, let me share one with you. If I have a need to cover something I don't want the foil to stick to I simply spray the side that will face down with cooking spray before I use it. I think there is a non-stick foul on the market now but since I have the foul and the spray I just use what I have. Even cheese doesn't stick if you are not too light on the spray you use.

Costco has delicious rotisserie chicken. Also, they have the rotisserie chicken meat already pulled, deboned, skin off in vac sealed bags. I keep a couple in my freezer for as needed use. Thanks for the recipe, looks great!
I agree that Costco has the best rotisserie chickens. I always keep a bag or two of their chicken meat in the freezer for last minute quick meals. Going to try this. My chicken casserole is similar except no doritos. ( which I definitely will try) Mine has all this, plus chopped water chestnuts and elbow macaroni. Its very yummy too.

Thank you for sharing. I have had this but instead of mushrooms they used black olives and added a can of Mexican corn. Another time she put a bag of Spanish rice in instead of the Doritos and crushed them and put on top both ways were delicious

What a delightful recipe with a funny name! I thought it was comical when Tom was saying shew that's a lot of chili powder, as he was pouring it in the spoon and a bunch of extra dropping down into the casserole while he poured! LOL! My tablespoon was too big to fit down into the chili powder bottle so I had to try to shake it out and ended up with a little extra in the dish. It was still absolutely delicious. Melissa does not like to be on camera, but she has been in a couple of our videos. I keep telling her that someday I’m going to convince her to do a video all on her own, but she says that will never happen. 😁

I’m with you 100% on showing love with food. My granny Mary wanted to feed the world and what a wonderful cook. As soon as you walked in her house she’d say have y’all ate anything. Gosh I miss those words. This is a delicious sounding recipe. I fixed your oven beef stew Friday. That just so good. I also fixed me and my husband one of your egg sandwiches with pickles. I actually like it but now I need to try it with other pickles to confirm your opinion.. Have a great week. This casserole looks so good!!! But to prevent the cheese from sticking to the aluminum foil covering your casserole. Spray/or spread cooking oil on your foil. Then place the oil/or sprayed side down over the cheese covered hot dish. Thank you for sharing your recipes and generous invitation to your family home.☺️🌹
I guess I’m a little paranoid about aluminum foil, but I use it as little as Ipossible. I just don’t feel like it’s very healthy. Hi Tom and Melissa well, first of all thank you so much for your channel and your recipes. I’ve been enjoying watching you cook and I made this recipe and it’s delicious! I followed all your instructions. I watched your episode two times. The only thing I changed was I didn’t use canned mushrooms but fresh I’ve never been a big fan of the canned mushrooms so I put some fresh sliced mushrooms in bowl and nuked them in the microwave! Then I folded it in; juice and all into everything else. This was a very tasty recipe. I did make a little rice on the side because somehow it felt like it needed rice. I’m a meat and potatoes girl so if there isn’t a potato beside it then it needs to have rice! PS: when I put this casserole together yesterday morning, I made it ahead of time because I was having a little procedure on my toe at 3 PM and I thought when I got home I just popped this in the oven so it sat in the refrigerator for two hours, The Doritos were not crunchy. It was delicious regardless, but my question is when you made it were the Doritos crunchy?
Good afternoon! This is like a version of a chicken Dorito casserole I've made and yes anything with all those ingredients is going to be delicious!! And yes...bring on the onions!!😂 I make a "mean" Mexican spaghetti that can be done with chicken or ground beef. I even use a few big cans of canned chicken breast for a quick alternative and it's amazing!!😋 A tip for putting tin foil on top of casseroles, is to spray the underside real good with a nonstick spray before covering!!😁 Have a great weekend...Big hugs from Texas!!🤗😍

I made this recipe today and it was really good. I will be adding this one to my favorites recipe book but I will be tweaking it. I added sliced black olives and it does need more broth.

All my chicken skin is further baked in the oven to become crispy. Then freeze in snack size, serving for my pomeranian. She loves those treats.
Oh wow! That’s a great idea ! I usually put it in a freezer ziplock bag along with the bones to add to veggie scraps to make home made broth !!
PLEASE, make sure that the rotisserie chicken has NO GARLIC OR ONION/POWDER on/in the chicken! It is deadly for dogs!

Going to try this. My chicken casserole is similar except no doritos. ( which I definitely will try) Mine has all this, plus chopped water chestnuts and elbow macaroni. Its very yummy too.

Thank you for sharing. I have had this but instead of mushrooms they used black olives and added a can of Mexican corn. Another time she put a bag of Spanish rice in instead of the Doritos and crushed them and put on top both ways were delicious

What a delightful recipe with a funny name! I thought it was comical when Tom was saying shew that's a lot of chili powder, as he was pouring it in the spoon and a bunch of extra dropping down into the casserole while he poured! LOL! My tablespoon was too big to fit down into the chili powder bottle so I had to try to shake it out and ended up with a little extra in the dish. It was still absolutely delicious.
Melissa does not like to be on camera, but she has been in a couple of our videos. I keep telling her that someday I’m going to convince her to do a video all on her own, but she says that will never happen. 😁

I’m with you 100% on showing love with food. My granny Mary wanted to feed the world and what a wonderful cook. As soon as you walked in her house she’d say have y’all ate anything. Gosh I miss those words. This is a delicious sounding recipe. I fixed your oven beef stew Friday. That just so good. I also fixed me and my husband one of your egg sandwiches with pickles. I actually like it but now I need to try it with other pickles to confirm your opinion.. Have a great week. Looks really good. I agree with Melissa that sour cream would go well. I may substitute sour cream for one can of soup. I prefer cool ranch Doritos, so I may change the flavor of the chips too. Thanks for sharing this recipe :)

Tom and Melissa I’ve had this recipe with ground beef. The only difference is that the recipe had black olives and Jalapeños in it. That is going to be delicious.🤤

22 WW points per serving, 24 with sour cream. You could lower the points considerably by using ff soup, ff cheese, and chicken breast only. Looks like a yummy recipe if you have enough points to eat it. Thanks for posting T&M

Hey Tom & Melissa!! I really like this recipe. I cooked it when I first saw the video and my husband and I loved it!! Last week though I tried this recipe using ground beef, Instead of the chicken, I used cooked ground beef and beef broth. It turned out really good!! I really enjoy yalls videos!!!

This casserole looks so good!!! But to prevent the cheese from sticking to the aluminum foil covering your casserole. Spray/or spread cooking oil on your foil. Then place the oil/or sprayed side down over the cheese covered hot dish. Thank you for sharing your recipes and generous invitation to your family home.☺️🌹
I guess I’m a little paranoid about aluminum foil, but I use it as little as Ipossible. I just don’t feel like it’s very healthy. But, spraying the foil does help it not to stick to cheese or toppings on the casserole.

When I have too much chopped onion I freeze it for something else. As long as it's going to be cooked, it's fine. Never any waste.
Hi Tom and Melissa well, first of all thank you so much for your channel and your recipes. I’ve been enjoying watching you cook and I made this recipe and it’s delicious!
I followed all your instructions. I watched your episode two times. The only thing I changed was I didn’t use canned mushrooms but fresh I’ve never been a big fan of the canned mushrooms so I put some fresh sliced mushrooms in bowl and nuked them in the microwave! Then I folded it in; juice and all into everything else. This was a very tasty recipe.
I did make a little rice on the side because somehow it felt like it needed rice. I’m a meat and potatoes girl so if there isn’t a potato beside it then it needs to have rice!
PS: when I put this casserole together yesterday morning, I made it ahead of time because I was having a little procedure on my toe at 3 PM and I thought when I got home I just popped this in the oven so it sat in the refrigerator for two hours, The Doritos were not crunchy. It was delicious regardless, but my question is when you made it were the Doritos crunchy?
Good afternoon! This is like a version of a chicken Dorito casserole I've made and yes anything with all those ingredients is going to be delicious!! And yes...bring on the onions!!😂 I make a "mean" Mexican spaghetti that can be done with chicken or ground beef. I even use a few big cans of canned chicken breast for a quick alternative and it's amazing!!😋 A tip for putting tin foil on top of casseroles, is to spray the underside real good with a nonstick spray before covering!!😁 Have a great weekend...Big hugs from Texas!!🤗😍
