SECOND! JK. Love you, man!
How many subs do you already have???
Great reaction , loved it !! NEW SUB !! Now if you want do ; " THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY " from the same concert dude , You gonna spaz !! peace
Can you imagine young dude back in the day,I was a teen and hadThe Beatles, Zeppelin, Floyd, Yes, The Who! All coming at me at the same time!!! I am so blessed and now you are too!
Man; whatever genre of music you like, if you don't at least appreciate the musicianship of this then you have no soul
Can we give this man some love for not pausing the video during the guitar solo? Just sat back and enjoyed it, phenomenal reaction!❤️
Definitely!
Totally on point. Love this song so much I've watched a half dozen reaction videos (I am old, was actually AT this concert). Worst sin on YT reaction videos? Interrupting possible the best live guitar solo of the 20th century. Giving this dude big props - he just let himself get carried away by the cascading music.
Exactly!
Nothing....but love!!!
Word.
You do not listen to Pink Floyd, you experience it.
And you experience album by album, and that’s the best part
Great way to put it...
It helps to start at the beginning and listen to the story. True, individual songs are classics but they progress the story.
I believe pretty much everything after Dark Side was a concept album.
Yep, and I've experienced vem since Point me to the Sky on John Peel radio show
That not just a guitar solo...that's THE guitar solo!
It is indeed the guitar solo of all solos....
The MOTHER of all guitar solos...
David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it.
He makes it sing.
I agree
There are so many guitar legends out there , some of them past away, some of them are still around. David Gilmores style of playing will never be copied, never ever.
There are so many guitar legends out there , some of them past away, some of them are still around. David Gilmores style of playing will never be copied, never ever.
He sings with it. And he's also a good singer (especially harmonising with Rick Wright). Want to feel jealous? He also plays keyboards and drums on other people's records.
This is where the degradation of today’s music becomes so painfully obvious.
yep if you havent hear d of a band called Nightwish chek out Ghost Love Score Live at Wacken 2013 They certainly can bring it
Find more music. There are diamonds in the mountains. You just have to look.👀😌
@@carebear1143 Oh yeah Nightwish is such a diamond
Oh I know they’re out there. But you have to really look. Whereas this was “mainstream” back then
There are some pretty impressive bands out there now. Mostly in the metal genres. Can’t say the same for popular music.
Pink Floyd isn’t a band or artists or even just music, it’s a whole vibe in itself 💖💖
So well put.
You are the woman for me Wendy
The "pink floyd" is bigger than all of us.
This IS the greatest solo of all time. It could go on for another 10 or 15 minutes & it still wouldn't be too long.
Within the last 3 minutes, there is point, where your brain tells you "Stop, I can't take it anymore" .But your soul is forcing you, to continue. Thanks for that special moment in your reaction. You felt it. Thumbs up
Well said bro.
It’s lovely to see successive generations finding Pink Floyd. They are timeless. Trust me, it never gets old.
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.
The combination of Gilmour's soulful guitar, Wright's musical environments, Mason's innovative, precise and well-tailored drumming, and Waters' amazing lyrics was a magic that I fear may never come again.
Listen man listen…David Gilmours voice and guitar playing are mesmerizing and they take you to another dimension…I. Have seen Pink Floyd in concert many times , between the weed, the lights, surround sound stereo, the whole stage show, and Gilmours guitar and voice,I literally melted into my chair, the entire 50,000 fans at Yankee Stadium were in a trance.
I can totally vibe with you. In the mid 80s I saw them for the first time. Before they started this song, they blew a HUGE cloud of dry ice fog out over the crowd. When they went into the chorus, "A distant ship smoke on the horizon...we are only coming through in waves..." they had this cool laser light show with a green laser painting an image in the fog above us of waves. So it looked like you were under water with the ocean waves cresting above you. It was undoubtedly among the most surreal experience I have ever had. I caught myself staring slack-jawed at the spectacle. I looked around, and everyone else was standing slack-jawed too, so I figured I was okay. LOL
@@RaymondBCrisp exactly …I saw them at Nassau Coliseum, Madison Sq Garden, LA Coliseum for the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and Yankee and Giants Stadium for the Pulse Tour. At the indoor shows when I looked up at the ceiling it was a cloud of smoke the entire arena was high and when the bed came flying down and exploded during Time, it was insane. The whole vibe was just indescribable. It’s sad that we will never be able to experience something like that again. I also feel sorry for the kids today who don’t have a clue as to what it’s like to go to a real concert .
Sounds like you are from about my era......70's and early 80's going to concerts.....me mainly at MSG. NYC..........great times for sure, probably will never repeat ......
Listen to this dude, man...listen. Pink Floyd is such an iconic band, you can literally go to a Pink Floyd Light Show concert with no band and have a great time. You should definitely get down the Pink Floyd Rabbit Hole. David Gilmour (the guitarist/singer in this song) and Roger Waters (a former member of the band) are both pretty much musical geniuses.
I caught The Wall at Nassau Coliseum 27 Feb 1980. Then Roger and David solo several times each. I got tickets for This is not a Drill in D.C.
David Gilmore is a legend!
Gilmour
Gilmour
Third time lucky? Gilmour.
A third is quite something, but a FOURTH? Sheeeesh. Gilmour
G I L M O U R - How can you be a massive fan of someone and NOT know how to spell their name? I suppose you like The Beetles too, do you?
David Gilmour is a highly underrated singer. And one of the greatest guitar players ever.
you can't rate this man... that's not possible
Pink Floyd is just at another level perfection personified!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this. It’s one of the greatest rock performances of all time. It’s a very important song to rock fans.
I LOVE watching younger generations dig on what I grew up on. Talent is talent, and speaks to everyone, regardless of genre. People need to experience music from all over the spectrum THAT is a diversity that make us strong.
You just witnessed 3 members of Pink Floyd from the 1960’s put on a spectacular performance. Their 1994 light show technology probably crushes anything from 2021.
There is a basic law in music, Pink Floyd is not music, it is an experience and never interrupt David Gilmore singing or playing a guitar solo.
When you listen to a David Gilmour solo, you are hearing the pure language of his soul pour out through his guitar, and it is powerful, and beyond beautiful.
Run like Hell from the same concert is quite brilliant
The whole damn thing is...
"One of These Days" is sick!
Like I said, he needs to just watch the entire thing and break it up into multiple reaction videos.
Run Like Hell live from Pompei in 2016 is even better.
The second solo of this song is mankind's greatest achievement. It's not even a solo, it's four minutes in which the listener ascends to heaven. It's absolutely soul piercing
No one plays guitar quite like David Gilmour. The emotion, feel, and expressiveness of Gilmour is unmatched by any other Rock guitarist imo. I've been a Pink Floyd fan since the release of their 'Dark Side of the Moon' album in 1973, I was 17 years old att.
Pink Floyd was/is a Rock band formed in London in 1965. They have sold more albums than any other band in history, (450 million!), except for The Beatles, who are #1 at over 600 million albums.
If you love guitar solos there's more from Gilmour, from this Pulse concert. like 'Sorrow', 'High Hopes', Learning to Fly', and many more just from that show.
So extremely true
High hopes are my favorite ❤️
You’re not tripping! His voice is like silk. Still is to this day!
The genius of Pink Floyd is unmatched. They are a genre all to their own. Check out Sorrow and High Hopes from this concert. Another "live perfection" performance is Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day performance of "Kashmir".
BTW. That's not just "what you call a solo"...that's what you call the greatest solo of all time by the GOAT guitarist--Gilmour!
Sorrow and One of These Days from this concert really blow my socks off.
Run like Hell .
Absolutely agree!
Do Shine on Crazy Diamond, Time, Wish You Were Here 🌻
this what happen when you forget to give the lighting guy a budget...
“Sorrow”…”One of These Days”…anything from this concert! 🔥🎶🔥
As many others have said before me, you don’t just listen to Pink Floyd, you EXPERIENCE Pink Floyd.
That's DAVID GILMORE, and yes, it's his pure voice that tells the story as his guitar takes you to the magical places you haven't imagined yet.
#GreatestGuitarSolo 👊🏻❤
Pink Floyd. Dave’s guitar and vocal work, Rogers lyrics and bass, Rick’s keyboards, Nick’s drums. Legendary.
We hold classical musicians like Beethoven, Mozart etc in high esteem. Pink Floyd should be addressed in the same fashion.
Don't worry, Beethoven would be highly pleased to hear where Pink Floyd has gone.
David Gilmour is the singer/guitarist. This is the greatest guitar solo of all time. Everyone who has ever heard this has had a religious experience
First time I heard comfortable numb (studio) I replayed it like 5 times because I couldn’t believe a guitar solo could sound that good and give me that kind of feeling. Then when I watched the pulse version, I was hooked. I’ve picked up a guitar ever since (year and a half ago) and have listened to Pink Floyd’s entire catalogue many times. I aspire to be like David Gilmour in my playing one day

David Gilmour's solos are my daily meditation. Seriously... Welcome to the show.
First time I ever sparked up my bro handed me the headphones and said listen to this
Back then, Pink Floyd filled the Earls Court seven times within 14 days always with a day off to check the gigantic equipment and I saw this concert in 1994 in Cologne's soccer stadium, together with 75,000 fans.
With my 58 years now I have been to dozens of partly very big concert events but what I was able to experience in Cologne has beaten everything.
At that time a good friend of mine lived about 500m as the crow flies and could see the arena directly from his balcony. He told me later, when the block with the encores: Wish you where here, Comfortably Numb and especially Run like hell - ua-cam.com/video/G2n9_AmDTqY/v-deo.html, was played, the whole stadium looked from the outside like the colorful glittering spaceship at the end of Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" after landing, because the light show could of course be seen from the outside through the distances between lower, middle and upper stand.
Until then, Genesis were the absolute specialists for composed light shows for me. After 2 hours of watching and hearing it was clear to me that there is probably no more or better.
And of course the overall experience of light and sound is inextricably linked.
When the sphere was still closed, it rotated and turned the stadium into a huge disco by the spotlights directed at it. When it opened, lasers were directed at it from various positions, reflected by the mirrors on it, which in turn were reflected back by mirrors fixed around the stadium roof and other mirrors distributed around the stadium near the ground, creating indescribable effects. You can't see this on the concert video because they made these setups only in stadiums and really must have been there because it's literally indescribable !
In the preannouncement of the concert it was promised that, regardless of where one´s position in the stadium is, listen to at least stereo if not even quatro. They implemented this advertising promise in such a comprehensive and impressive way that I will never forget this bombastic sound experience together with this indescribable light show.
And to this day, when I hear this piece, especially during the guitar solo i get goose bumps all over my body and it leads me to another dimension ! EVERYTIME ❗️❗️❗️👍
I envy you. I wish I was there. I´m 52 years old but a late fan of Pink Floyd. I regret in my life that I´ve never seen them live (also Roger Waters).
I might be wrong but it was supposed to be 14 out of 15 nights but they ended up doing 14 and a bit after the very first night [13th October] was cancelled right after the start after temporary seating collapsed
I was also there - (Gothenburg 27-AUG-1994)
THE best concert ever, by all means.
Haze, you often say 'Hold Up' and you are 100% correct. This solo performance will HOLD UP as the best live performance known to man!!
I'm a beatles fan through and through but this song is the best live performance I have ever seen. Well done Dave Gilmour, (Singer and Guitar player).
PF used the same studio as the Beatles when they recorded Abbey Road.
Check out the whole concert you will put beatles #2
Beatles? No, thanks! No match with Pink Floyd!
'What the hell am I watching?'....Pink Floyd. Being blown away is normal:).
Pink Floyd is otherworldly. They take you to another place and time when you hear them. Truly one of the best live performances I've ever seen. React to more Pink Floyd, please!
When you started talking about his voice I was thinking… wait til you hear his solo at the end.
Pink Floyd is timeless music and will never die.
The two people that gave this song a thumbs down have no soul!
David gilmour's all about space and tone both vocally and musically. You recognize his voice and his guitar immediately!
Listening to Pink Floyd takes me to a whole different place.
When we were teenagers we just to go to the river neer by, built a fire spreadin out blankets , laying down wachting the stars , having some cold ones and. listening to Pink Floyd. all night . l was like in a trance. No worries, no problems, just feeling so comfortable ( comfortable num).
I loved this from the moment I heard this many years back and I am still entranced by it!
Beauty personified.
When I watch reaction videos to this masterpiece and they lose it at the first guitar solo, I’m like “Dude, you have NO idea what you’re heading into” ❤️
I was there and the sad thing is that unless you were there you cannot experience it through their Olympic stadium size quadraphonic sound system. Another level.
Saw this in Vancouver '94.
Sat right next to soundboard (halfway back), and the mirror ball opened up right above my head.
I've seen over 600 concerts since '73.
This concert is in my Top 5 of all time.
I was at that show too! Saw both shows. My favorite band since 75. I've seen them 5 times, including the Wall Tour. Bought my first ever music album which was Dark Side of the Moon when I was 8 in 75. Very cool you were next to the mirror ball!
When you are comfortably numb is the best time to hear that incredible underrated guitar solo. Love the Floyd.
That solo never gets old. That last high note he holds before the song ends is like a silky smooth sonic bit of wizardry. But hey, Pink Floyd amirite? :)
The best guitar solo ever from the best band in history. Pink Floyd send more people to space than NASA
Consider yourself blessed for hearing this guitar solo.
The most interesting comment was; "it's like a spirit talking to me". Yes. Having been a musician for 55 years, I feel some musicians and bands are definitely inspired by Spirits. I'll just leave that.......there.
I'm 50 years old and I CAN NOT BELIEVE that for all those years I never gave Pink Floyd a chance. This song is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard, and I listen to A LOT of genres, and it helps that I am musically educated.
First rule : Keep your eyes open for the entire performance. The lights are Highly choreographed with the music to amplify and magnify the emotions in the music. You want to bring this full circle. Watch and react to David Gilmour Live in Pompeii concert. For the Pulse concert he was in his late 40s. For Pompeii Gilmour was in his 70s. A 70 yr old man in a black Tshirt taking the whole world to school and teaching them what music is supposed to be. He performs all of Pink Floyd's Supreme hits with his own band. Performing in the Oldest amphitheater on the planet.
Pink Floyd: touching souls for over 50 years now...
Brother, I grew up with this. I remember exactly when I got the double album "The Wall" for my birthday. I was 15 years old and already knew "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" - I've been listening to them with my older cousin since I was ten. But this was really MY first own album. Cover of a white wall with a black inscription and inside a fascinating drawing of handwritten texts - Oooh. From then on, I listened to it over and over and over ... I was like a dream! I still have it - I don't play it anymore but I'll never give it up and I will die with it. Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Rick Wright and David Gilmour changed my life - and I'm certainly not alone. I'm happy and thank God I met them.
If you like David Gilmour's guitar art, listen to Pulse's "Sorrow" or "Coming Back To Life" or "High Hopes" concert (DG plays steel guitar here) or anything - you'll never go crazy! But my biggest favorite is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" from the album "Wish You Were Here" - it's an absolute musical gem!
Now damnit, this is a reaction of the year candidate!! Dude, such a great reaction of the whole Pulse experience, enjoying both sight and sound!! And your comments on David’s voice is spot on!! Most comment on his ethereal guitar playing, but that voice, it’s truly the voice you want to hear whilst breathing your last breaths!!
Made my day Brotha!!
You owe it to yourself to watch the entire "Pulse" video. 😳🤯
Gems like this song surround the first, and probably only, live performance (at each show on that tour) of the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" album... 🤘🔥😎🤯
Pink Floyd is SO GOOD, they could put out an album with no lyrics- just instrumentals- and it would still sell. The lyrics only make it better. The vocals enhance it to the point where it becomes it's own genre.
David Gilmour (guitar & vocals) is an iconic talent... He wasn't an original member of Pink Floyd - he joined in 1968 after their founding guitarist/vocalist Syd Barrett suffered a mental deterioration and was let go. It was tough, cos Barrett was Gilmour's friend from when they were kids. Gilmour was not a prolific songwriter like Barrett, but he could play guitar remarkably, sing Pink Floyd songs, and compose + produce music for the band to record.
All Pink Floyd is magical!
Yes. The guitar player is also the singer and his name is David Gilmour.
I saw them live in Sydney Australia in 1985, best concert of all time, blew my mind. Love from Australia.
If you weren't trippin' before, you are after THAT! Thank you!
Great reaction! i been listening to this song for over 50 years and it still brings me to tears.
totally feel that
David rips his heart and soul, serves it directly to ours, deeply out of deepness and leaves us rethinking our existence. This is how the music is supposed to speak to us.
David Gilmour's iconic talent has spanned decades, and, in combination with Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and Roger Waters... well, it is a rare moment indeed. Nothing like it. Nothing....
If you haven't heard by now and want a whole adventure into Pink Floyd. Watch the movie "The Wall" by pink Floyd. Such a mind trip.
SHould've been there, dude. It was electrifying.
David Gilmour’s voice will touch your soul. His guitar will save it.
Welcome my friend to the folks who understands Pink Floyd.
This was not a concert it was a life changing experience and phenomenal point in time when Pink Floyd took their place as one of the greatest bands of all time great reaction thanks
I saw this tour and you are correct. One of the best shows I’ve seen ever.
Yeah you’re not trippin, this song rips into your soul.
Have seen Floyd twice. Both times spiritual experiences.
"This mans voice is mad beautiful!"
Then God plugged his guitar in.
How lovely to appreciate David Gilmore voice and omotions in a spiritual way beautiful comment buy I can tell a lovely man
the unique part of Pink Floyds music is that no matter what mood you're in, Pink Floyd always works. Great reaction man keep it up
I was fortunate to see this concert and YES it is a whole mind experience. They are a category all their own with their music written by them. The boy bands with auto tune and put together by producers will never be able to touch these legends. Now check out "Run like Hell", "Sorrow" and "one of these days" all from "pulse"
I am 86 years old and have
been a fan for at least 40years
Even now, when my Wife is out for at least 2 hours I close the shutters turn up the volume
light one up and enjoy Pulse for perhaps the 100th time.
David Gilmore is my God
Pink Floyd is life changing music!
That was Mr. David Gilmour. He is one of the most emotive guitarists of all time.
HazeBruv Great Reaction. David Gilmour On the guitar and also his vocals.😀👍❤️✌️🌼
The greatest guitar solo of all time.
You dont listen to Pink Floyd , you feel it . I am 55 yo and i cry when i hear this song....its that deep and means something to me. Not afraid to admit it....Music touches everyone in some way, this band touches my soul . Be Well my friend !
I was able to see Pink Floyd twice. Tampa Fl....Momentary Lapse of Reason....Clemson Sc....Division Bell.....Awesome shows!
Fun fact. David Gilmore (singer/guitar) worked shortly as a model before joining Floyd.
On July 4th 2921, a group called 4th Impact, honoured all Americans by singing an acapella version of your national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner. As someone who genuinely enjoys reacting to music, you simply HAVE to react to it. Oh man. It just blew meaway!
I have been a Floydian since I first heard Echoes off their Meddle album in 1972. I will always be a Floydian and David Gilmour is by far my favorite guitarist. It is not necessarily his technical ability, but his style and feel...you just don't hear the notes he plays you feel them, each and every one. Pink Floyd never fails to take you on a journey!!
No one makes raw emotions come out of a guitar like him.
@@bruun1974 while I agree with you, Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits comes pretty close but never gets the credit he deserves
@@RobwLPOC
There is no way you are bringing up Mark and David in the same sentence.
David is not a guitarist he is the 20th century version of Beethoven. Mark was a good song writer but to say his name and Gilmours in the same breath is laughable.
@@lukeherrington8555 holy crap did you miss the point.
Dave Gilmour playing that solo was like he was riding a flying unicorn higher and higher into the unknown Universe...God luv ya Dave and Pink Floyd, we may never hear the likes of that kind of music again..
Classic Floyd. At a PF concert there are no bad seats. They make every part of the arena a part of the show. They will always be the kings of the stage. Great reaction!
Pink Floyd were the at the forefront of being the best touring band in the world each time they headed out .. They sorced the best sound equipment and the best lighting and effects available to bring the audience nothing they've ever experienced before .. Perfection on the bands behalf was a must . .
Love watching first reactions to the greatest live guitar solo ever.
There are bands, then there is Pink Floyd, there are singers then there is David gilmour, the entire package is more than the sum of anything you've ever experienced!
You are right and your assessment that it is magical, Pink Floyd gently takes your soul out of your body and places it on a cloud, and when you hear their music you just float away, your soul just dances from cloud to cloud with each note played that is the magic of Pink Floyd.
Best live lead guitar solo of all time. Gilmour was a melodic lead guitarist which lends itself so well to this song.
Sometimes this is just genius and we are all just living in their world.
Roger Waters and Gilmour are just so amazing.
Saw it live in Birmingham,Al at Legion Field in ‘93. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
It was May 1st, 1994. The Division Bell Tour at Legion Field. I was there. I was 16 years old. It was an experience like no other. I am so grateful to have that memory.
David's voice is a fine instrument ably wielded, then there's that guitar.......perfection. The closing guitar solo has been called the best ever by many.
I've been listening to this for over 40 years And it always takes me back to my bedroom at 8 years old listening to this song the 1st time when I see a younger generation like this guy appreciating it the same
That's what missing in today's music. MUSICIANS!
Dave Gilmour is not only my favourite guitarist but also his voice is incredible and often overlooked. He has the most soothing, beautiful singing voice.
Anybody who says, music doesnt have the power to change your life, hasn't seen this video !!! DG is a legend!! I would give anything to go back in time and see this live!
David Gilmour is a legend. Pink Floyd is in a class of their own. No one can pull you into yourself quicker than these guys can. Great performance and great reaction, friend. Peace
Not as great but I would put Moody Blues in the same class as far as music that's meant to be felt and not heard. Safewatch the number of reaction videos to Nights in White Satin and it gets a very similar reaction where people are saying they felt that song in their soul
David Gilmour is a F***ING genius
I have heard this song for 39 years now because of my mother. No telling how many times I’ve listened to throughout those years and still today I get so emotional to the point of tears. She was a teenager during the 70’s and I saw her struggle through so much and I really miss her. She was a great mother and I wish I could have done so much more for her than I did. Raising a family of your own will keep you from being able to do more.
Pink Floyd will go down in history as the greatest group ever to exist. Second to them will be Led Zeppelin.
