I prefer my steak cooked medium rare. if you like your steak cooked differently, you may have to adjust your cooking times. this filet mignon was made using high quality grass fed beef steak from ButcherBox and a few other simple ingredients I found in my cupboard at home. with a little practice, you can make a steakhouse quality meal at home for a fraction of the price!

I like using the avacado oil. Totally reduces the smoke when you are cooking at higher heats. Looks delicious!
You make a good point with the avocado oil.
It definitely helps when you are looking to keep the smoke down!
Absolutely!
I’ve never seen you cook until this video
Ha ha yeah, I probably haven't cook anything on here for a while.
Cooking method is great! However, you're the first person I've seen that burns the seasonings on the steak crust. May I suggest a different approach? Reverse sear it for a better edge to edge medium rare then sear it on very high heat in the pan.. Unless that's not what you want then by all means do you fam 😄
I very much like reverse searing my steak! My favorite throwing them in my smoker before they hit the pan. Thanks for watching and the suggestion!
Where is my invite?
Guess you missed it?
Yikes lol
Too rare?
@@FreeRangeFisherman The burnt seasoning is really poor technique. Crusts are formed by drying the steak with salt aging and/or paper towels.
You should be seasoning your steak at the end, with a seasoned butter baste rather than a shortcut seasoning rub. That stuff is mediocre enough even when it's not burnt.
Very good point. I'll try the butter next time. Thanks!
