This is the FINALE of my 3-part "Pimp My Ride" Dodge Caravan saga! I decided that I had to give this van away, and there's only one person that would appreciate it as much as I would. But to get it to him, I would have to drive over 1,500 miles, halfway across the country. Things didn't exactly go as planned.

Honestly, with all the work that they did to get this van to the way it is, and a shop would only charge maybe 2500 max is actually a hell of a deal. Crazy how cool this turned out

It was -35 with a -50 windchill for nearly a week and I moved back to Texas. Don't need snow tires here ever. In fact I had a t-shirt on all day today...

Tyler Hoover gave this Minivan from PIMP MY RIDE to a museum in Kansas. Where you and everyone else can see it. HE has a UA-cam channel called Hoovies Garage where he posted a video of him personally giving this car to a museum because he didn't have any use for it. He did that months ago and i hate to see ppl still bashing on tyler who is a really nice person and has a deep love for any car.

Well, but that is also why all these Pimp-my-Ride cars ended up like this. They are way too expensively and complicated to remain for poor or young people.

I owned 2 caravans.....'99 and '01....those things where indestructible and comfy for the road trips...sold them in 2014 as is with literally people bidding for them... incredibly easy vehicles to work on
im in salem indiana and a friend if mine tagged me in the craigslist listing on facebook of this and when i called to buy it i was told it was sold. im glad to see it was restored back to its pimped out status. would love to still own it though.

pRO MiKe that’s actually how Tesla gets their trade ins. ...At least in our state. They legally cannot sell cars directly to consumers here, so I suppose they also cannot offer trade ins, since they’re not a dealership. Your future Tesla may be in your town, but you buy it in CA via online/offline documents. So how would they accept a trade in? They tell you to take the car to CarMax and regardless of how freaking long it takes them to finalize and give you your car (3 months for us, I believe), they will honor that value. I don’t think they compensate CarMax at all for this service.

I'm no fan of Teslas, or the company, but being able to buy the car you want, and it be the same price at any dealer, really takes the hassle of negotiating out of buying a car. And the bait & switch tactics.

Hey just found this video.
I used to watch PIMP MY RIDE.
And 4 yrs ago... I went online to a Auto auction out of San Fransisco ... I live in the UK and France.
And I spotted a familiar looking Mustang .
The car that PIMP MY RIDE... THE CAR THEY CALLED MADDIE MUSTANG.
I wound up buying the car and bringing it to France. Where J have a number of mainly old racing cars and a couple of special road cars.
Like the van . The mustang needed work.
It had questionable fixes from the tv show.
So we gave it a full ground up restoration . .it's a fantastic car.
It was turquoise when we got it.
It's now black with a red interior.
And it's been renamed Mad Max.
And resides with my 1973 Lincoln Continental (that I imported 8 yrs ago for my 40 th birthday. And is also a ground up restoration) and a 1973 Jaguar (also a rescue that we restored just on 10 yrs ago now ). .
PIMP MY RIDE made it all look good but sadly alot of this work was very questionable.
But it was still fun to watch.
I have zero knowledge about cars and don't even knownhow to drive! but I remember watching pimp my ride. I really enjoyed this 3 part series. Keep doing what you doing!

@@rafaelsmolnydesouza Yeah that's definitely not a quote from anywhere near where I live. I became my own mechanic because that would cost at least 5k for all those repairs here. Most shops charge between 125-175/hr for labor, plus the parts markup.

Oh yeah, and fuel pumps go out by burning bearings by not keeping gas in the tank. They usually burn out all at once. Sometimes you can get lucky and peck on the bottom of the gas tank with a hammer to get the armature in the pump rolling, but more often then not, when it goes, it's gone.

@@mitomr.twiceasnice4358 should've took motor swapped it with compatible performance trans, cleaned her up like new an kept it as a memento, maybe gave it to your kid, lesson of sentimental value, appreciation, hubris. I've had my CR-V for almost 20 years an it's still kicking ass on the highway.

Wow this was great!! I just randomly came upon these after searching up what happens to an engine when it's out of oil and ended up watching this whole hour and a half video series lol. I never thought about what eventually happens to alot of the cars from the "Pimp My Ride" show but I would imagine most are just sitting around collecting dust like this one did. I'm not a fan of those colors lol but great job keeping the original look!
