    That's rich. I remember the first time I came to the store as a kid pawning stuff with my mom who had a bad habit at the time and the old man pulled me over to the side and gave me 5 dollars for lunch and told me not to tell my mom. Not to long after that we moved to Reno and I never got to thank him for his kindness. So thank you Harrison family for all of the little things you do for the people. Then and now. RIP

    I am a loyal watcher of Paen Stars... I've seen every episode. The old man definitely was a true gentleman and added that special touch to the show. He was a hero, a man of wisdom, and shown true family values. Can't say enough of the many wonders of the world that came into the sharing of so much history, and through many lessons taught, the love always shined through. He will be missed. R.I.P. R.Samuel

    My late father was the same way. He taught me a great work ethic, how to be a father and husband to my wife and children and he was always there for me. When my father passed, a part of me died with him. It’s sad to lose someone who was there for you and help guide you in your times of need. I always love watching old episodes of Pawn Stars because the old man reminded me of my father. Stern but loving. Wise with his words of advice. Sometimes tough love is the best love. 😇😢

      They do state what was left, but it doesn't exactly say who exactly got what. They state the old man's house is still in the family. They state the old man's cars have been left to his kids and grand kids (besides Christian apparently). Corey has probably ended up with a bigger share in the business also. They do state in video the shop was left to Rick and Corey. So, although the don't mention exact items, I.e which cars etc, they do state what He would have inherited along with Rick etc

I always respect when parents/family members pass ownership of their businesses and homes (aka a way for their family to keep succeeding) along to their loved ones. I have never been able to understand how ppl can just sell, get rid of, or even worse…let their things rot away that they worked so hard to keep going while living. To many dint help and expect to get it when people pass, but they don't deserve it, I'd rather give it to an employee who worked with me, showed loyalty, hardwork, and care for it. I'd prefer my kids, but I'll be damned if some entitled person, child of mine or not, gets my hardworking without being involved the whole time.

    My dad died in 2019 and left nothing to my mother or me. He left my mom with maxed out credit cards, extreme house debt and a $8,000 funeral. Wish I had a dad like the old man that cared more about his family and not himself. I gave a warm and loving speech at his funeral about what I did love about him but people told me after the fact that he didn't deserve that speech. You know when you don't miss someone when you never cry when you think about them.

I believe you were pretty close, in more ways than one, and that’s very important in a family. It showed. 9 Things? Hard to hear what he said about the Old Man's rank in the Navy. He retired a Petty Officer First Class, the equivalent of staff or technical sergeant in the other armed forces branches. As that rank he served in a few different capacities including his last days on a naval Tug Boat.

    • @peterzenewicz329
      @peterzenewicz329 3 роки тому

      Not too great for 21 years. Most with that many years retire as CPO, or higher. Hell, I went into the Navy as an E-6, PO-1, Day one.

    • @DIDYOUSEETHAT172
      @DIDYOUSEETHAT172 3 роки тому +1

      @@peterzenewicz329 Sorry got to call BS on that one. Its not grade school where you can skip five ratings. The only way (which is another reason I call BS, because you don't seem to know this) an enlisted person can enter the navy other than an E1 recruit / apprentice, is if it is a second enlistment. Meaning you were in the Navy prior, was fully discharged, got bored, then reenlisted where in your previous enlistment coupled with job experience can enable a higher rating if they are desperate for that job to be filled.
      In other words if and only if they had a vacancy and were desperate for a job that would justify the rank. But seeing as how those jobs only open if there is a retirement, every current E5 would have to fail the advancement test.
      The only automatic advancements ( even then depending on the job or unit advancement exams may be required) is up to E3. E3 who wish to advance, on recommendations from there commander, sit advancement examinations for E-4 and subsequent ratings up to E-6, there is no advancement without passing the exams, and no skipping of ratings. Exams are held for E4 to E6 in March and September of each year, Exams for E7 are held once a year in January.
      SO please do not claim falsely that which others have earned by effort.
      Sorry to anyone if they get more than one notice for comments, I tend to type fast then go back and edit spelling and rephrase stuff. Kind of new to YT. 😁

      @@DIDYOUSEETHAT172 Would you put up a few thousand as a bet on that? My DD-14 shows that I entered USN as a DP1 and left as a DP1. E-6. Also didn't go to regular basic training but a special training regimen at Bainbridge , MD. About 120 DPs and DS-s went through this course. In fact, the first set, the DS-s signed on as DPC. Correct, data processing technician Chief Petty Officer. That didn't go over very well with the other Chiefs, putting it mildly, so this was scaled back to DS1. DS1s served at sea, and there was much hazing. This was in 1969, 1970. But hey, don't feel bad. We were hassled by a lot of uneducated Chiefs for not having our hashmarks on our jumpers. And the offer for a wager stands. Any amount.
      And I earned my rank also. By putting myself through college for 4 years while working 30 to 40 hours a week, and every summer, then working at IBM for 2 and a half years. I started working immediately in data processing at BUPERS after our "basic" training.

      Since 1961 The primary training location for the naval DS rating was Combat System Technical Schools Command at Mare Island CA. But nice try. PS moving on I won't be reading or replying anymore to this thread. Have a good one.
