I know this is Short Circuit, but this is one of the few videos in LMG where I felt "Is this it? Where's the rest?"
That cam is so interesting.
Yeah it felt rushed. He has 4 lenses to use, but he didn't even use them all and he didn't even show it's photography features. This is how I feel with some of ltt vids these days.
@@m3lodeth Definitely feel like they could add a long form review channel that posts infrequently. Post longer versions of shortcircuit reviews for items that really deserve it.
Maybe if they added an extra video in the main channel with the full review, it would make more sense.
Sure it gives you a good first impression, but at the same time you want to learn more about it, and that last aspect is not being explored enough.
I guess other photography focused channels are there for that - this is a 'short' unboxing made for viewers with a varying level of interest.
@@riveraluciano The major reason for this is likely how the youtube algorithm works. The main channel cannot have videos that only a few viewers are interested in. Shortcircuit is limited to 10min videos (+promos) for a good reason.
I believe this is actually a "Un bagging"
I'd be interested in seeing what live video over usb-c looks like, and maybe compare it to some other common cameras that streamers use in the $500-$1000 range. Otherwise, it looks very compelling to someone like me that just wants a nice step up from my point and shoot for wildlife photos while still being relatively compact
It's the same sensor as older sony bodies the new features are what this camera is bringing.....
But for just streaming go buy older camera like a6300 a6400 a6100
Yeah, apparently the video via UVC is limited to 720p with this camera (no idea about the bitrate though), which is a bit of a shame. I'm sure it looks about as good as 720p can -- i.e. better than a lot of tiny sensor-ed webcams like the Brio shooting what is **technically** 4K while delivering perceived resolution of 1080p or less -- but it's still a missed opportunity, imo.
I'd also like to see the HDMI Output from it. I own a cheap-o ~30 dollar Capture Card which it's Audio Performance is a bit lacking, but the Video Quality is superb, but my Nikon D3500's HDMI output is a bit... Janky from what I remember. I think it outputs the settings and everything over HDMI, but I could be miss-remembering.
Seconded - using an a5100 as my webcam via a USB HDMI dongle (1080@30) which is fine but no idea why'd they'd nerf the USB-C direct perfomance on this as it's no a bandwidth limitation.
Edit: would also see what the low light/ long exposure performance was like. Bit of a budget astrophotography interest.
@@Skiptrac3 I do the same thing with my D3500 but the only problem is that it turns off after half an hour!! Also if your getting the cameras overlay still you can just press the info button until it disappears.
Love that you included indoor footage👌🏽 I got what I needed thanks.

Hi random verified guy
The way he flipped the screen at 0:48 looks like a card flourish. That was so satisfying.
The heart and soul of LTT and all of it's success.

And yet ironically the videos that get the least views..
@@tsundere.senpai by that i meant brandon has been over at LMG since the very beggening with Linus.
7:41 You know what's more impressive? That background music sync with Brandon. Good work 👍
I was actually looking at getting one of these, ended up just finding a canon m200 at my local target for quite a bit cheaper. I'm sorta regretting my impatience, but on the other hand I feel like I probably couldn't justify spending an extra $250 on a camera that at least for now would serve as a webcam
oof
Finally a camera that won't make me bankrupt
Can’t wait to get it second hand for $350.
Still really expensive for my taste 😂
@@JxcksonSF Oh yeah I still am not buying it cuz I don't really vlog, but in theory I could attempt to buy it and wouldn't have to sell my house for it xD
It's still expensive, but yea as someone already said, atleast it'll be a bit cheaper second hand
Refurbished G7 or m50 for $350-400 is the way to go.
I would love to see Brandon compare sub 500$ cameras (with lenses). This is a step in the right direction, but for a beginner beginner 700-800$ is still a lot.
get good
@@fillmainlol5973 what?
@@august7324 you get good too
@@fillmainlol5973 That's an awful comment. So you better GET GOOD mate!
no such thing, unless buying used. $500 is the very very bottom where you might as well just use an iphone. If you can't spend $700 you're still in cellphone camera arena.
This camera fixes absolutely EVERY issue I had with the ZV-1! I might finally upgrade from my canon 700d
cameras are for boomers ,just buy a iphone ,and u can do same HQ photos in 4k and facetimings and callings the peoples and its smartings
@@girlsdrinkfeck as a filmmaker and creator a camera is a pretty essential piece of kit of me
@@girlsdrinkfeck hey man please kindly get outta here
@@girlsdrinkfeck hell no! iPhone battery sucks, and the sensor ain't big enough and it's not for professional filming, it's only good for regular consumers but not for professional work.
I think he meant that as a joke? It's a joke right?
7:55. Well, it seems that even a professional photographer sometimes still have a hard time to put in an sd card. Now im not feeling lonely again
I have 5+ Sony E-mount cameras and the direction of the SD card varies a bit from model to model, so you're never sure which way it goes in on the first try. I still mess it up even now lol
@@Thalestr I have 3 and they all go in the same way as this one...and I try to put it in the same way Brandon did almost every time, because it just looks like it's the right way! :)
Well, I am a Fuji guy and have a couple X series, they face the same way. The contact on the sd card facing the screen. But boy, idk why I still mess it up.
Looking at this camera, this seems like a level of quality and price that would make me finally move away from doing everything with my phone.
The mic sounded decent and the picture looked solid. If the slow motion recording is decent, then I would absolutely go for this.
Our interpretations of “budget” may differ slightly…
I was thinking of exchanging my current nikon setup for this one. But yeah... I'll stick to it for now
I thought cameras were expensive
Mom, it's just that you're confusing the difference between budget and affordable (for you). Just because you can't afford a 80 foot boat that is $500k, doesn't mean it's not a budget boat, when others smartly sized age $3M.
This is a very budget camera . 700$ is well priced. If you think this is expensive then you should stick with 100$ point & shoot😂
you can get an eos 500d for like $100 iirc
Now I just need to wait for it to be in a resale for $250 so I can buy it 🤣
Yep , in a yr probably
Idk if the market is wildly different in the US/CAN but in the UK these cameras don't devalue at that rate. A sony a61000 is still going for at least £650 and it was released in 2019. Even the models before that, the 6300/6500 still hold decent value and you won't pick one up for less than £500.
@@arca_phox Yeah, I was lucky to get an A6000 for £180 they are mostly still £220. This is a camera released in 2014.
The prices are better pretty much everywhere else, but not by that much. ZV-1's are usually +£400 still.
You'd be lucky to get a first gen Rx100 for that much.
so three years later, have you managed to get it?
I'm currently using the A7 II (super sad the announcement wasn't for the A7 IV) and imo the ZV-E10 is a seriously good choice for people looking to get into general YT content creation/photography/videography. Assuming that price point it could absolutely steal the market for amateur/semi-pro creators.
I had considered getting an APS-C camera just for it's small form factor and this camera certainly has all the bells and whistles. Though I do still want to keep waiting for that A7 IV announcement to see what Sony are really capable of.
I love this Brandon camera videos, I dont know not understand anything about pro cameras but this videos are so fun to watch
I don’t even care about taking picture but you guys make this so interesting. Love it
0:14 e10 thezz nuts
At 10:06 it’s interesting how much sound it makes zooming in
This camera heavily reminds me of Samsung’s discontinued mirrorless NV series. The top 3 models were black, but all of the rest were available in white and were about this same size.
I had a white Samsung NX2000, which was a damn nice little mirrorless camera that served me well and cost me about $120 with a lens on sale. When I eventually lost it while travelling and emergency purchased a used Nikon D3100 from a local market, I appreciated some of the benefits of having a DSLR but missed the carry-everywhere size of the Samsung.
Also the reason for hunting at 8:20 is likely due to the face focus in settings. You have to turn it off or change to the other mode (studio or product demo or something) so that focus will lock onto something else besides your face/eyes.
Heck yeah more Brandon content!
Looks like a really good camera for the price - Might even get this in the near future
Dunno damn shit about cameras but I'm excited because Brandon's excited. The video and audio quality were both phenomenal.
Sony a6400 or a6100
Canon M50 mark II or M6
Fujifilm X-T200
I mean around the price range of 600-1000 dollars (I guess)
anyways I really appreciate the budget approach from you guys keep it up!!
Finally someone ho mentions that there are way more options at this pricepoint. He didn’t even mentioned that in the video....
Canon M series is basically dead, you'd be better off investing in R. Just saying... Last EF-M lens that got released from Canon is 2018, with a whopping 8 lenses...
I do agree it's really short sighted to only look at Fuji and Sony or whoever else they fanboy over and selected products even within those brands... I'd like to see some Canon and Nikon reviews :(
global.canon/en/c-museum/product_search_result.html?t=lens&s=ef&s2=efm&sort=new
Also the Panasonic G85. I don't see it mentioned that often and while it does have it's downsides it is an excellent entry mirrorless for photos and videos.
I was *very* pleasantly surprised by the sound-quality of the built-in mic, outdoors with the dead-kitten wind blocker on it! Very, *very* surprised, honestly. Far better than what I was expecting.
Brandon is the most in depth but skimming the surface reviewer. Just what the viewer needs
Veeeeery tempted by this camera. Will have to see how it stands up to heavier testing but I love the compact size.
The mic sounded so good I barely noticed a difference from the studio mic
I'm not into photography but I find Brandon's camera reviews entertaining
Thank you Sony for this camera. This is literally what I wanted for years.
Wow. That's impressive. Looks great, sound was a little tinny, but shockingly clear. That's entirely workable.
Oh, wish they had said the prices of the other lens as well. I have the alpha 6000, which is pretty similar to this one overall at a first glance. Been wanting to upgrade to a newer one as it doesn't work with sony's app for video. This is really in the spot for me, tiny and with great lens options :D
I assume you mean a newer lens? If you mean to upgrade to with camera, it honestly seems like a downgrade to me from the a6000, which I also happen to own - same size sensor, same overall body, with main difference that the a6000 has a viewfinder, which is ridiculous not to have at this pricepoint
@@jakobvanklinken I don't use the viewfinder, also this camera can record 4k and has bluetooth and wifi with full distance control over the sony app, which the a6000 doesn't, the full flip touch capable screen is also something that the a6000 doesn't have, and actually many more small things that matter way more to me than a viewfinder that is just too expensive.
@@thamires.magalhaes 🤷
6:23 "I wouldn't expect them to do anything different" well... if you remember, most of the older Sony NEX lineup of cameras had HDMI type Mini-C, which is bigger and more reliable.
Wow that’s an impressive little camera!!! It looks really good, it sounds really good, it can take a large variety of lenses, and it’s light and cheap!
That linus scale. Perfect.
The PERFECT beginner camera is what you have on your phone.
@Friendly neighborhood Alien To be fair though, this "beginner" camera costs about as much as upgrading your phone to a phone with a nice camera.
@Friendly neighborhood Alien But the reason many justify is because a phone can do a LOT, even replace a computer for most basic daily tasks, while a camera....just photo and video and that's it. A camera is an accessory for most people while a phone is pretty much a part of someone these days lol.
@Friendly neighborhood Alien I got my Pixel 3 XL for
Very beginner friendly video too, thank you Brandon!
Seems like a nice little camera honestly
This is like Christmas for Brandon
I would totally love this camera! As someone who mainly does photos (but I've been recently looking into doing more video work) with a very heavy DSLR, I would love a much lighter mirrorless that can also handle video much better than my DSLR can!
What do I think... I am a professional photographer/videographer and yes I bought this one. Like you pointed out, compact, lightweight, b-roll, and it's got good features for use. This is also my first dip into a Sony camera, so I might just get convinced to move over to Sony fully.
Sony cameras have impressively quick focusing imo
glad that moving things in and out and holding your hand to the item is becoming a thing of the past.
Nice video. As someone who recently got into photography I love seeing these camera videos. I'd really like to see Brandon check out the new Nikon Z FC retro style camera that just released
Thank fucking god, finally. This is the video that makes a starting point for all camera videos on ltt. Photography looks amazing as a hobby, but i KNOW NOTHING
that mic quality was surprisingly good for the outdoor shot
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! been looking for info on this camera for A WHILE now
id say this might be a damn near perfect youtuber camera its light compact the audio and video are really nice id be more than happy with this quality if its not a high budget production
This seems like a really good value for what you get. Seriously tempted for my first "proper" camera.
As an aside, I'd be interested in a Brandon & co. series teaching photography, they've always been interesting and educational on screen
They should've added in the background during the outdoor vlogging someone assassinating Linus and this guy keep going like he didn't see anything.
I was interested in this camera from the leaks alone. Good video because I am more interested now. (:
That built in mic is so impressive
Pre-ordered, thnx! I'm going to use it on stream but also as a starting point.
Wow. Had no idea it was interchangeable. Neat!
Also a mic and headphone jack. You used to have to buy an a6600 for that. Bonkers
Nowadays, the best 'beginner' camera, really, is the one on your smartphone. It's always with you, some come with native full-manual mode, and you can start taking photos any time anywhere. That's the best way to get started I guess. If you can shoot some nice photos with your phone, you can go up to others easily.
I think it should be on the main channel with all the lens samples, color profiles and other features tested =D
maybe even try to substitude one of their 12k cameras to see the differences of $700 camera to $10000+ cameras :D
that would be quite inspirational for all the youtubers who look up to LMG videos :D
i may have found my gateway into photography in this one
Thank you very much for posting. I've been waiting for the DSC-RX10 M5. But not sure they will be making it. It is much more expensive but I think worth it. Thank you again, great information and video.
Audio was excellent.
Beginner? with this APSC camera you can do professional jobs very easy
The mic sounds ok to start but as you have a jack you can update later on, nice!
There is a high chance I am gonna buy this at some point of my life soon
This camera could easily become the best choice for livestreaming over older small APS-C cameras such as the a5000/a5100. Interested to get my hands on one!
Love a good Brandon video, should be on camera more often
Funny, how they present an absolute non-answer with the "dead cat" mic.
alive dog
Now we shall wait for the ZV seried full frame ver. I use it for atem mini multicam works.
What about photos? Would have loved to see some example shots xD
E10 deez nuts, also great video
Ha ha
I feel like this will be a great streaming camera for people who don't want to do the research to buy and hook up a used DSLR
Can we get a full ltt review for this camera
This legit reminds me of the nex 5
Huh, this is basically a better NEX-5R (from 2012 I guess?). I’m still rocking that one. Bit smaller, better autofocus and newer software. Same-ish sensor, same mount, almost identical button layout. I guess it’s an upgrade for me, but it doesn’t offer anything radically different to what my decade old one can provide in a still to date compact enclosure.
I wonder if this is good for multiuse as a Webcam, taking pictures, and videos as I never owned a dedicated camera before and know nothing about them.
I use a sony a6500 and rx100 v as webcam via mini hdmi and a 15usd mini hdmi usb dongle. This one can do that for sure - but maybe even via usb directly.
I think the audio sounds amazing, considering the size!
I came for the camera and stayed for the amazing content. But now I am searching LTT store for the weighing scale with Linus' face on it
Brandon is a damn good host. Loved the video
After being graced with Panasonic's software on my point and shoot, Sony's is gonna be a hard transition.
With that being said, I'll certainly be saving up for this (albeit very slowly)!
This camera sounds real nice
again, sony make the impossible!!! love it!!! especially the white one😍😍😍
I’m just starting out with photography and currently practicing with a T2i (old I know but it still works well and it was free), really wanting to see some budget friendly cameras, lenses, and gear. Photography tips would be cool to see if you guys wanted to share
I think the ZV-E10 is a fantastic camera for a vlogger. It has a very usable kit lens for vlogging has a built in ND filter and great audio. In many ways it is better than the ZV1 and I would almost recommend it over the ZV1 because of the eMount lens. The ZV1 however might be a better choice because of the f/1.8 (which is why I own two for my studio). If you need that background separation, low light capability, or even need a camera for streaming, then the ZV1 might be a better choice. The added cost of the Sigma glass is one reason why I wouldn't just tell someone to buy the 16mm f1.4 even though it could be the best vlog lens for the ZV-E10.
The ZV-E10 is a direct competitor to the Canon M50 Mark II and I would definitely recommend buying the ZV-E10 given the better 4k, better microphone, built in ND filter, no record limit, and future proof mount. I would love to see what Canon comes out with to compete next. I would suspect that Canon will be dropping the price on the M50 Mark II because of the ZV-E10.
Great video! I know its short circuit but I (just like the other comments that I've seen) would like to see a longer review. Some photography samples and maybe even use the other lenses included with the bag.
ShortCircuit might be my fav
1:04 APS-C = Advance Photo SYSTEM - Type C

Sony ZV E10 vs Canon m50 mark ii . Which is better for church online worship. Plz suggest me
I'm still rocking the a6000. Solid little camera even 9 years later.
0:45 "Dang, this thing is small! Holy crap!" That's what she said 😞
Its the Zv-1 i wanted for live streaming and vlogging with a better sensor and interchangeable lenses its an instant buy for me personally
more video like this please
Audio sounds good. I think it should have more stops of IS, since it is for vlogging - you can see it reaching the limit and being a bit jittery. I wonder about 2 things: battery life and overheating (for streamers).
Looks better in black imo but great camera
Nice, but can it do beginner astrophotography? Or is there a camera specifically for it in the same budget around $699/799, please do a review of that!
I think this will be my fist ever camera i would love to start on this world
the mic is surprisingly good
Finally USB-C
Looks like Sony wanted to make an alternative to the Fujifilm X-T200 which is an amazing content creator/vlog camera
One very important thing that you missed (i think) is NO IN-BODY STABALISATION !
Its essentially a "budget" vlogging camera with maybe good enough sound that is certainly a drop in quality from the usual Rode Mics.
Also Canon should look at this and wonder wtf they didn't update their best selling line the m50 (ignore m50 mkII that was an insult).
When I first saw this announced, I thought back to my first APS-C camera, the Sony NEX F3. Course no flippy screen but it was small and light. Few camera bodies later and I had an A6300 which served me quite well for a while, until I moved to an A7III.
I am thinking of selling off my A6300 and I might just get one of these! lol
could you do a video for the best camera for streaming ? I know that you cannot use any camera because some of them heat up too much but a video guide would be nice :D
Looks like a rebranded Alpha 6xxx camera with a better UI and USB-C. For vlogging is surely great since it's pretty light, but I'm not impressed by the video quality or dynamic range. For a bit more than the combo body + lens you can get a Fujifilm X-S10 with a basic 15-45mm lens which outclass this camera in every aspect (and has much better focus range on a similar lens).
I have an a6000 and this would complement it very nicely for video
