Jason which camera do you recommend for both video and photography? a6400 or ZVE10?
I'm bingeing ZV-E10 videos (6 so far) and this is my favorite so far because Jason is speaking directly to what he imagines are the people who are potential buyer of the ZV-10. I'd recommend this video to anyone who was thinking about dipping their toes into vlogging with a MILC body. 👍
What I love about the zv1 is the size. Super compact and can fit in your pockets without worrying about lenses. When I heard about this, I didn’t expect it to have interchangeable lens option. I’m a sucker for new tech and gear and I hate to say it buuuuut, the release excites me because that means the zv1 should go down in price even more now and I can finally get one lol

I am one of those who watches because Jason Vong videos are good and insightful videos. In this case I appreciate you “getting it” about this camera. Too many commentators review a camera like this through a videographer’s perspective instead of the content creators (who the camera is aimed at) needs.
As an experienced videographer I might find find some things lacking in this camera, but content creators are generally young, and experienced with social media and smart phones. For them they find it difficult to comprehend buying a camera that costs as much, or more than their smartphone, but at this price point, they are likely to like the optical zoom of the ZV-1 or the interchangeable lenses of the ZV-E10 attractive. For them it is likely to be a creative extension of their phone rather than a replacement.
Sony has correctly identified this price point as the sweet spot for bringing in these young new camera buyers. These people will like the face smoothing and will prefer it to the lack of IBIS caused by the needed cost cutting. I think Sony will benefit long term by going after this smartphone demographic, and will do well.
An interesting camera. Good image and the auto exposure looks great and totally natural. Rolling shutter is a bit much but great content can still be made when you know the limitations

It's the perfect b cam to go with my A6600. I can use my apsc e-mount lens collection and it has log profiles. This is way more exciting than I expected it to be!

Great video! ZV-E10 is not bad but it is a specialized camera. However I’m considering this as the main video camera. But if you are going to take photos as well, i think the a6xxx better for hybrid.

I’m considering this because I mainly record with my gopro because it’s so compact but the fact that you can change lenses on this makes it so appealing over zv1. With the 10-18, how much does it crop if you use the standard stabilization? I like to keep my field of view around 16ish mm!

Hey Brother! I'm thinking of getting the Sony ZV-E10 for recording lecture videos, especially at a distance of around 15 meters. Do you think it's a good choice for this purpose? If yes, could you suggest any specific settings or lenses that would work best? If not, I'd really appreciate your recommendation for a camera that's suitable for recording 90-minute lectures at a distance of 15-20 meters. Your videos are awesome, by the way - keep up the great work! 📷🎥
The image can be post stabilized, with Catalyst giving better performance (I keep asking, but no-one has answered whether this still works with 'dumb' prime lenses). The multi-shoe would be more useful with Sony BT mic which is more economical...

So, as I can see , full frame lenses still CAN be used with APSC cameras right? While I guess we can´t go the other way ( APSC lenses with full frame cameras)?

I just wish they would give us a new sensor. This is the exact same sensor from the a6300 from 5 years ago. Most of it's competition has better overall image quality now. Glad they finally gave us a flip screen on an APSC camera though. Here's to hoping they give us a more competitive APSC sensor sooner rather than later.

I bought the Sony zv-1 for vlog and I love it I just don't like how I can't changed the lens, thinking of upgrading tbh , just don't know it its Worth it.

Thank you so much for that video! I personally have a Sony Alpha6000 which I currently use with Sony 1.8 35mm. I love it for pictures though but I was thinking about upgrading a camera, especially for videos because I do a lot of reels / tiktoks and thinking about starting a youtube channel - the sony ALpha6000 served me well but I think for videos it´s not a great camera even with a Sony OSS lense. So I´m considering between the ZV1 and ZVE10 / ZV1 F.
I think compactwise I would say the ZV1 is currently the best option (because for the ZVE10 I´d have to buy other lenses). What are your thoughts on that?

Hi, Is the background blur in addition to the blur given by lowest aperture in the lens (f1.4 in this case) using some type of software (like in phones) ?

I like the top down shot next to ZV-1. I still like ZV-1 more than this ZV-E10, but it's not a bad choice for the price! And I am going to assume that it takes good photo also. Since I got my ZV-1, I rarely pick up my rx100v anymore. ZV-1 is good enough for everyday photo. It is now my EDC camera.
Hey lalione, I was thinking of buying the zv1 but one of the biggest concerns everyone has is the battery life. As if I would have to buy multiple batteries just to film for several hours
Nice video Jason but I just can’t get on board with this camera. I bought a ZV1 and found the lcd useless outside in 4K as the bright mode wouldn’t work. So many new Sony cameras with lcd only. I upgraded to A7C and love it. Even the range finder is a major upgrade.

1st rate presentation, thanks. Leaning toward this, but now - a year later - I can't help but think that with hindsight we will see this as the first and imperfect iteration of a new gen of video-centric cameras. If it had better stabilization, a true rolling shutter solution and a bit better build quality.

I believe and feel this is a top-notch Sony camera you have in this UA-cam video. However, I have a brand new Sony a7 III 4K mirrorless camera sitting in my bedroom that I haven't used yet. I think I'm going to stick to the script and rely on my a7 camera and the new GoPro hero 9 black.
How is the AutoFocus on the ZV-E10 versus the A7C?

if I may - 1080p is same quality/line-skipped as with a6100+ models, a7S3/FX3 make 4kdownsampled 1080p

thing is that fact that it doesnt have inbody image stabilization is a bummer . But i guess for its price it offers more than enough. Tbh out of the low budget cameras like the canon m50 or sony a6500 i see the sony zv e10 as the best option. However personally i would get the a6500 (2016 camera) just for the inbody image stabilisation. Other than that great video! Im curious to see how well this camera will do in the market and if people will find better cameras than this one for its price
