When doing a barrel swap on these it’s best to gently heat with a heat gun or soldering iron on the screw, heads, etc. before attempting to remove the tiny Allen screws holding the barrel clamp plate down
Why not a true bull pup rifle based on the over lever cocking design of HW45 scaled up.The trigger sear and grip are in the right locations for full sized bull pup rifle. The shouldered gun would absorb the recoil in a more secure way than the odd forward jolt of a conventional break barrel. So the t.p. Isn’t so efficient. Easy to cock 12 ft/lbs. If I had a machine shop. Looks like it may be time for my P1 to have a rebuild. Great vid!
boil wash moment before you knocked that pin out and your glasses were on the table. lemming bravery trying to let that spring go till your shoulder gave you a heads up .....
I'm watching TBT from 4K miles away, but it's like he's here in the room with me.🤔 So this video will work with the Bronze Star, which is the one I've been drooling over?
Hi Nick. I've had a HW45 SilverStar in .22cal for quite a while. Actually had your original version TbT tune kit ordered but the compressor I have is only good for rifles with dovetail grooves on their compression tubes to attach to. I'd be inclined to give your 'updated' version kit a try with the "better' spring etc. Now all I need is your part 2 to be published. When is Part II coming out ? Thank you and great work. Richard
After some advice is it a good idea or not to put a drop of silicone gun oil down the breech every 1000 shots or so to lubricate the synthetic piston seal or can it make its way to metal on metal parts? How many shot will moly grease last before needing to strip and re lube ?
ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NOT! 😱 NEVER put silicone inside a springer! All the TbT kits come with Bum-Slide hi moly paste included. That will last many thousands of shots between services
@ brilliant thanks for the reply, just wanted to check as I’ve heard people say about doing it before, I only use the bum slide and bisley moly grease 👍
Im thinking i now want my hw45 to be a .177. I fitted a tbt kit in mine 4 or 5 years ago. Are the guides the same now as then or are you going to make me buy the whole premium kit again? Not that im bothered, just curious. The old kit made an immense difference to the point it is now enjoyable to shoot
That was an interesting clip . I've never wanted an HW so never bothered too much, but am enjoying watching this strip down .
Fiddle-De-Dee! Best thing on YT
Yup, absolutely loved that little edit to the video. Was going to make the same comment.
The look on Gary’s face when the spring flew out was priceless. This will be a handy video if ever I pull my P1 apart.
I have a 30 year old 45 and it still works great.

Class Nick. You know what you are talking about and show it. Keep on keeping on. Keith
I'm really appreciating your devotion and knowledge. Nice content... thanks a lot.
Great video, keep 'em coming
Eagerly waiting for pt2 cracking vids

everyone needs a favourite screwdriver.
Got my favourite screwdriver almost 30 years ago when I used to put ridiculously expensive sound systems in my cheap crappy cars 😂
Thanks. Great stuff so far

Hello Sir I would like to have your opinion about the OX spings with the squear coils.
The square edges slowly grind your gun apart from the inside, like a big, bendy cheese grater.
@tbtairrifletuning1520 Thank you very much

They have changed, we now make our own premium spring, but if it still works, don’t change it!👍
Dont do that youll hurt your shoulder.
