Got mine on the secondary market NIB….box had factory “tape” as new. For $275. I like the knife and used your centering trick to center the blade: thanks for that. For the price I paid I utilize the knife as a substitute for my Bugout. (Wear a suit daily but always carry a lightweight knife.)
Also this price would be within reason I do like how lightweight it is and looks slicey id like one but the price is wat made me just rather get crk Hinderer or a demko ad20
Hi, Can you please measure the bearing OD, ID and thickness? I'd like to replace mines with thick washers but I don't know the correct size. Thanks in advance
Great video. I recently got a Narrows and I’m having the hardest time centering it. I followed your advice in the video and it helped a little bit it’s still off. Do you have any other suggestions? Also, is there any danger in having the pivot tight? I think I have to add some loctiite to mine because it keeps coming loose. Thanks.
Using loctite is perfectly fine in small amounts. One of my 2 Narrows has a bowed scale, probably from being stamped but the bow is small so it centres well. Did you notice anything like that on yours?
@@CuttingBoardRx I ended up using purple loctite which fixed the pivot and then I had to bend the scale a little bit and it’s been centered ever since. Thank you for the reply. Love your videos.
@@CuttingBoardRx for sure! I mean it’s definitely an issue on some knives. I’ve only had issues on the Spyderco Domino and Southard where they had a thin washer that got destroyed. My Koenig Arius which is one of my all time favorites has inserts so the bearing doesn’t gall the Ti
A street price of $522 is patently ridiculous and all hardware and clip should be made of titanium. It’s worth about $322 with titanium hardware and clip.
Hmmmm....not good for a $500+ knife. I wouldn't take the narrows to the beach. It should hold up well in dryer conditions though. It's a hard pass for me either way. Too much moolah for me!
Absolute any knife that costs over $100 is likely to be a waste of money for 90% of the buyers from purely functional view point. Anything above that is just for the love of knives!
You need to get your money back. That’s the worst knife of 2023. It sucks, the price sucks, I cut 2 pieces of one foot long single ply cardboard and my palm was in pain. It’s too thin, the scales are machines inside out (who dose that?), the knife needs to be discontinued. Your foolish to buy it.
Benchmade needs to cut that ridiculous $522 price tag for this damn average knife. Don't waste your money. It ain't worth it!!! It ain't worth $250 much less $522. Hell, you can get one of a number of a lot better knives for that kind of money.
@@CuttingBoardRx Yes. Nice knife... Same opinion. NOT a value item when compared with the rest of the market. A dozen other companies producing well matched knives or better at much less cost.
@@CuttingBoardRx yeah. I have Benchmades from before they went crazy and their quality started dropping. Im not likely to encourage their current marketing strategies. SOOOO many other options
Excellent teardown / reassembly video.
Excellent teardown and examination.
Benchmade has become the Master’s of giving you “More for Less”... D’oh! Think I got that backwards...

I'm sure Benchmade will offer a milled clip upgrade for another $120 or so.
Lol
The quietcarry or spyderco salt stuff would pass the salt fog test with flying colors and for about half the price or less
I don’t disagree about your points. The price is ridiculous. There’s no good reason for it either.

@@wmaloney3 glad I could help!
Are there washers to protect the Ti from the bearings? Haven’t taken mine apart yet. Overtime, I feel like the bearings will mill a race in the Ti

3:13 did you eat it????
Why does this knife cost more than the Benchmade Anthem!!!????
@@CuttingBoardRx My point is that the Anthem was an integral titanium knife in 20cv. The narrows doesn't even have titanium hardware.
@@CuttingBoardRx And where are you getting that knife for 400 bucks? It retails for around 520.
Benchmade lost their minds awhile back and they still charge way to much 😊
I would gladly pay $500 for a knife, but not this knife.
